2.4 Shadow Studies
The adjacent diagrams are shadow studies developed for the CWHC campus during the Vernal (Spring) Equinox (March 20th) & the Autumnal Equinox (September 22nd). The shadow is shown at four times: 10am, 12pm, 2pm and 4pm.
As is evidenced by the images, the outdoor landscape podium available for staff and patients has full sun until mid-afternoon. Mornings on the landscape podium enjoy the maximum daylight available.
The angle of the building reduces the amount of direct western exposure to sun and solar gain.
