This document is used to install, configure and operate AcoustAlert x64.

The installer needs administrative rights to be installed.

Run the installer found on the installation media supplied

The install process will install all

required redistributables.

Click “Install” to continue with the

installation.

Click “Next” to continue with the

installation.

Click on “Menu” on the top left corner and click on “AcoustAlert

Configuration”.

Enter the default password “3” and click on Enter.

The following screen is then

shown.

Click on “AcoustAlert

Configuration” followed by

clicking on “Network Settings”.

The network adapter where the

AcoustAlert devices can be

discovered must be set here.

Select the network adapter from

the drop-down list as shown

alongside.

Click on “Set network adapter” to

save the selected adapter.

The current selected network

adapter is then shown as

illustrated alongside.

We now need to setup the

AcoustAlert devices.

Click on “Device Configuration” to

configure the AcoustAlert

device(s).

Now click on “Discover

AcoustAlert devices” to discover

the devices found.

Click on the MAC address drop-

down to select the devices

discovered.

Enter a name for the AcoustAlert

unit and an IP address for the

AcoustAlert device.

Please ensure that the name and

IP are unique; and that the IP

address is in the same range as

the computer.

Click on save once the

information required is entered.

Select Input Configuration.

This where the inputs that are

connected are enabled and

names assigned to each input.

Click on the AcoustAlert Device

drop-down to select the

AcoustAlert device to configure.

Check “Input 1 Active” check box

when in use then enter a unique

name for the input.

Check “Input 2 Active” check box

when in use then enter a unique

name for the input.

Click on “Save” to store this unit’s

details.

Click on “Zone Configuration” to

setup the zone configuration.

This is where the AcoustAlert

input can be configured as

required.

Click on the drop-down list by

Zone name and select the Zone to

configure as shown alongside.

For the Zone to be configured

the following needs to done:

Detection % (i.e. the level of

disturbance to generate an

alarm)

Display Position (1 to 40 needs

to be selected)

Pre-Alarm Level (A Pre-Alarm

can be set-up or set to 0 to be

disabled)

Acknowledge Timeout (can be

setup to automatically

acknowledge alarms or set to 0

to be disabled)

The Detection % starts at 2%

being the least sensitive to 100%

being the most sensitive.

Detection % is based on the level

of disturbance.

Display position is used for the

default layout

The Pre-Alarm level is based on

the same principle as the

detection % and 0 will disable

Pre-Alarm monitoring.

The Acknowledge Timeout is used

for when the operator is

expected to respond and

acknowledge an alarm; before

automatically acknowledging the

alarm within the time specified.

Click on the Select Device drop-

down list.

Click on New Device to add a

Moxa IO to the system

Please note that the Moxa device

IP address is to be configured

using Moxa ioSearch.

Enter a name for the Moxa unit

and an IP address for the Moxa

device.

Please ensure that the name and

IP are unique; and that the IP

address is in the same range as

the computer.

Click on save once the

information required is entered.

Click on the Zone tab.

This is where you can assign the

Moxa input as a Zone to be

monitored.

Click on select input drop down

list and select a moxa input.

For the Zone to be configured the

following needs to done:

Alarm state (i.e. Is the alarm

condition open or closed)

Display Position (1 to 40 needs to

be selected)

Acknowledge Timeout (can be

setup to automatically

acknowledge alarms or set to 0 to

be disabled)

Click on Alarm state drop down

list and select either Normally

Closed or Normally Open.

Click on Alarm tab.

The MoxaIO outputs are

configured here.

There is 2 types of outputs one

being user controlled and the

other is an automatically

controlled output based on Zone

input conditions.

Click on the Select Output drop

down list and select a Moxa

output to configure.

We will now configure a Zone

event output.

Click on Output Type drop down

list and select Zone event.

To configure the Zone event we

require the following:

Active State (Must the output

switch to which state based on

the input zone status)

Zone Input (The input to be

monitored for the output

condition)

Zone Status (The state of the

zone input to switch to alarm

state)

Click on Active State drop down

list.

If the Active State selected is

Closed then based on the zone

status an Output will change to

Active state when the zone status

changes to the required

condition.

Click on Zone input drop down list

and select a Zone.

The Zone is the input that is

monitored such as AcoustAlert

Zones and MoxaIO Zones.

Click on Zone Status drop down

list.

The Zone Status is the state that

is needed to change the Output

Active state.

Once the Zone event parameters

have been entered click on Save

to save the Zone event.

We will now configure a User

Controlled output.

Select an output from the down

list.

Click on Output Type drop down

list and then click on User control.

In order to configure a User

control a display position and

Active State are required.

Click on Display Position drop

down list and select a display

position. This is used for the

default layout on the front-end

monitoring software.

Click on Active State and select

the state of the Moxa output

when the user changes the

output state to Active.

Once the parameters have been

entered click on Save.

Click on “AcoustAlert Status” to

return to the front-end

monitoring.

left.

The User controlled output(s)

are shown on the right-hand

side.

This is the default layout.

We are now going to configure the front-end monitoring layout.

The main graphic can be changed here and allowing the plotting of

zones to the desired location on the main graphic.

To do this click on “Menu” followed by clicking on “Layout Editor”.

Enter the password, default is “3”.

To change the graphic click “Menu” followed by clicking on “New

Map”.

An open dialog is shown, go to the

location of the image and click on “Open”.

The preferred size will be as follows:

i. Height = Screen Height – 60 pixels

ii. Width = Screen Width – 16 pixels

e.g.

1024 x 768 requires 1008 x 708

1920 x 1080 requires 1904 x 1020

The selected graphic

will be shown as

selected.

Move the mouse over any zone name and the mouse icon

will change to a hand icon. This allows you to hold the left

click of the mouse in and move the zone location to any

desired location.

Move the zones to

the desired

locations.

After moving the zones to the areas required click on “Menu” followed

by clicking on “Save Layout”.

Click on “Menu” followed by “Return to Alarm Display” to show changes

on the alarm display.

In order to switch a Moxa output

to an active state go to output

and double click on its name

The output will now change to

active.

return to a normal state.

To handle and acknowledge a condition double click on a

zone.

The following box is shown with details

on the event.

Enter response in the text dialog box.

Click on “Ignore conditions” to ignore

nuisance events for the specified time

only if necessary. Click on “Accept” to

acknowledge the alarm.

The Zone is then reset to a normal state.

We are now going to look at

generating reports.

Click on “Menu” followed by

“Reports Generator” to generate

reports.

Enter the password, default is “3”.

Change the start date and time as desired.

Change the end date and time as desired.

Alarms report type generates a report

based on alarm activations only.

Conditions report type generates a report

based on conditions only.

AcoustAlert Zone report type generates a

report based on a particular AcoustAlert

zone.

Everything report type generates a report

based on all events.

Click on “Generate report”.

The report can

now be viewed.

The facility exists to export reports and print reports as

required.

Click on “Menu” and then “New Report” to generate a

different report else click on “Alarm Display” to return to

alarm display monitoring.
