From an early age, I was drawn to the works of Impressionist painters. Without realizing that I was any
“different” from those around me, I experienced the world, literally, through an Impressionist lens. I saw
people, objects, and nature as most would see them, but with the addition of superimposed, shiny flecksof light over the surface, similar to a forest bathed in dappled light and shadows. My senses interpreted
not only the mass that would visually define a person or an object, but also the areas of these
superimposed flecks of light (or the absence of it). Some people had more areas of light, some had less;
there were parts of people’s bodies that I experienced as very bright and other parts that seemed dark. It
was only much later in life that I learned that I had a special gift, and these shiny “flecks” were really…
energy. I always thought that people saw the world as I did. How was I to know otherwise?
I had a strict Catholic and rational upbringing in Belgium in a family of five. For many years, as an
international law and corporate marketing executive, I lived and worked in Europe, Asia, and the US. I
got married and raised two wonderful boys. I also spent time studying, exploring, and living through life’s
tribulations. I had developed senses but didn’t make much of them. Then, at the age of 40, I had a series
of “other worldly” epiphanies that shook me to the core.
I had ‘dead’ kids pulling my sleeve to ask me to go and look for their Mommy; I would know someone
had liver problems as it would make me sick; I had intense visits from Mother Mary, Jesus, Quan Yin and
Buddha; I would see and hear angels, spirits and guides or I would wake up with a ‘dead’ man sleeping
next to me. At about the same time I was ‘told’ to go to China for a month with a Master an hour after a
spot became available in the group; I was able to study 3 books a week for 3 years while holding down a
job and kids under the age of two would keep staring at me, inexplicably stop crying in my arms or come
and crawl in my lap without being asked.
Many thought I was troubled and needed help; others started seeing the gift and coached me along. Thenis when I started to be open to experience life as it really was, no longer as it should be. For the first time,
I recognized that I had a unique set of gifts that I needed to develop and share with others.
I kept traveling to many different places around the world; but now I studied and worked with many
gifted masters. These experiences added to my gifts as a medical intuitive and healer and I have been
privileged to have been able to help thousands of clients around the world over the last decade. I have
helped infants with congenital diseases, women with infertility issues, and men with prostate cancer turn
their lives around. I have been a friend and spiritual coach to many. The positive changes in people’s lives
never stop to amaze me. I believe in an integrative approach to healing which I talk about in the book. My
father is a retired surgeon, my brother is a doctor, and one of my sisters is a pediatric nurse, and I enjoy
working alongside modern medicine in the quest of healing my clients.
Not everyone sees the world through an Impressionist’s lens; however, I truly believe we all have special
gifts, and all we need to do is be open and dedicated to developing them. It is hard to explain what you
can feel but cannot see. In writing The ABCs of Energy, I hope to share with you exactly that. The
information in this book comes from my many earthbound teachers and more than one hundred of ‘outer
world’ spirits who guide me directed by my Counsel of Twelve. I wrote this book so that you, the reader,
can understand the workings of all types of energies—from the physical and emotional all the way to the

spiritual. Through the approachable narratives and insightful exercises, I challenge you to be an active
participant: to get to know your own energy and the energies around you, to find your true path and most
of all, to experience your own happiness.
All I wish for you is to live a passionate life full of purpose, love, and laughter.

You create and reflect what you are in your surroundings. Therefore changes in your environment only
happen when you change. You are not just a student of life, but of yourself! You can evaluate your
‘theatre stage’ and see whether you still like it or whether you want to move on to a different play. This isthe starting point to how you find your Soul’s purpose and what gives you joy. When your soul, body,
heart, and mind merge into a balanced YOU, you will realize that the best things in life require little
struggle or effort.
As we get to know the ‘deeper’ side of ourselves, we become more refined in our actions as we evolve.
We go from ignoring the beggar, to seeing the beggar, to helping the beggar, to feeling compassion for
the beggar. Every decision carves out a little more of our direction and our unique road. It defines our
unique co-creation. Once we experience something fully, it stays with us forever. We mirror our
uniqueness and manifest the reality of our mind and spirit.
However, many of us float on top of life. We are so busy with something and everything that we miss outon so much. Life is in the now, the actual moment of experiencing. The actual moment where your feet
touch the grass, your body feels the softness, your mind registers its wetness, your eyes see its deep color,
and your emotions give you a sense of enjoyment. When you are preoccupied with yesterday or
tomorrow, you miss most of the experience.
This book serves as an easy and quick guide to the fundamentals of energy. You will find the basics of
spiritual, physical, mental, emotional, environmental and ambient energies including phenomena such as
orbs, healing keys and ghosts. Also, we will explore how different types of energy permeate our
surroundings and our person and how we are affected by them; how they make us sick or heal us in a
simple and effective way. Where our mind goes, our energy flows. The Universe is impervious to what is
good and bad, without discrimination it follows the focus of our attention and energy. When we see thethings around us more clearly, we get to know ourselves better and see who we truly are. We will live in
abundance when we realize that the more we give, the more we receive.
Finding peace in our lives might feel similar to finding peace at an airport. Peace comes from within and
does take focus and dedication. It is so easy to be thrown off by people and events as in that lays our
human experience. After all, we are spiritual beings having a human experience. We all belong together,
just like flowers in a garden. We benefit from each other’s company, beauty, and harmony as we create
what we are. We are that powerful.
In order for you to ‘experience’ the concepts in this book, you will find each chapter contains a personal
actions box which allows you to take time out to look at your life in a different way; a way which willultimately leave you happier and healthier. We are multifaceted, complicated, and unique - imitation does
not suit us. The ABC’s of Energy will give you insight into the many ‘invisible’ things the Universe
provides. Let it inspire you so you can live your life with renewed authenticity, passion, and love for all
that you receive on this journey.

Every human has a unique frequency. When we meet people, we just ‘know’ or ‘feel’ whether we have
things in common or whether we do not like them. Something special happens when two very similar
people meet. They can just be with each other for hours and usually do not recall much of the
conversation; just that they had such a great time. This happens when people encounter someone with a
frequency that is almost the same as theirs. They ‘sync’ seamlessly. They resonate with each other.
When our vibration alters, we usually do so alongside others and often we’re not even aware of it. We
may find ourselves being attracted to, and spending time with, new people that are at our new vibrational
level. However, an extended absence from our environment will show us more easily how we are the ones
evolving. Other times the change is more visible: just look at young children and see how their physique
and mannerisms vary even day by day.
The human vibration and frequency changes gradually but continuously. Theoretically speaking we are
someone different every month. People who have a similar vibrational change or adjust at the same pace
will usually stay compatible. Friends, family or partners often have frequencies which are aligned. As we
evolve and change during the course of our lifetime, so does our vibration or frequency.
Our monthly adjustment in frequency doesn’t necessarily mean a separation from what we are doing; it
usually reflects a refinement on our life path. We might take a different course of action, go live
somewhere else or choose a different partner or friend. We might lose touch with certain people for a
while or get back together. Sometimes the change is what keeps us apart. Just like two boats which take
off on a different course, the distance between them goes very fast and is very noticeable. There lies no
judgment in this, one road is not better than another, it merely underscores how different choices lead to
different routes and experiences.
We all have our own unique path in life and the freewill to embark on our true journey. We have different
things to learn and therefore different paths to walk. Like two boats sailing alongside each other for a
while, on our path we will sometimes meet people who can guide or accompany us for a while. Other
people, such as our family or lifelong friends, might function as a beacon: we go to them to get our
bearings again and to recharge before setting out to a different course.
As we continuously change, so do our surroundings. Certain things will become center stage in our life,
others will fade away. This all happens quite naturally. Just think of how we changed when we went to
college and landed into a diverse environment. Our core stayed the same, but our new experiences shaped
us into a different adult.

- 10 -
Not only do humans have a particular frequency, but so does everything around us. Even the earth has a
heartbeat which can be heard as a four-beat. Have you ever visited a place and got a feeling you couldn’t
explain? We don’t just resonate with each other but also with our environment. Think about the type of
place that feels like home to you. Some of us feel more at ease in a city while others need a more green
and calming environment. Some of us want animals or kids around. It all depends on who we are right
now and what we resonate with. It is good to listen to our inner voice and put ourselves in theenvironment that feels right to us, as this is where we will thrive best.
Did you know?
The scientific facts are astounding:
- The atoms in our bodies carry 99.99999% empty space. The .00001% of the atom that is left is energy.
- Scientists can find nothing within an atom to give it weight, mass or solidity.
- Thoughts affect experiments and change the outcome of reality. Lab technicians will affect the accurate
results of an experiment.
So if there is nothing but empty space in our body and the .00001% of mass can be influenced and/or
changed, then it is most important to look at those influences/energies as they can change our body!

Life is not for sitting on the sidelines. It takes actual doing, feeling, seeing, smelling, loving and evenhurting to grow into the person we are. We can’t just ‘think’ or ‘dream’ our way through things. We have
to live our life by taking action and by using all of our senses. After all we are sensory beings! We have
to fall in love to know how it affects our whole being and how wonderful it truly is. We can’t just dream
it up. We can tell a child that fire is hot and burns, but sooner or later the child is going to have to actually
experience what is meant by ‘hot’. This way the experience of ‘hot’ is integrated into the total energy of
the person and never forgotten.
We can see things, yet we cannot see vibrations. However, we possess the sensory skills to pick them up.
A sad person affects us as much as a certain place might give us goosebumps. We react ever so subtly to
what is around us. Music and spoken words also carry a vibration and affect our mood. Just think how
listening to heavy-metal music makes you feel compared to listening to Mozart; or how a person’s voicecan make you cringe or fall asleep.
The world is a stage and it provides us with a plethora of cues and hints to help us on our journey. People
can nudge or pull us along or we can ask for assistance from the Universe (or anything we believe in) and
experience wondrous happenings. We can also give back, not just in words and deeds but also
energetically as we can send our good thoughts and positive energy to others. For example, a mother can
easily connect with her child this way. One time, my son asked me to think of him as he had a difficult

test at college. Afterwards he called me and said “it went great, but Mom, I could have sworn you were
sitting next to me during the test”.
For the Doubting Thomas’s out there, why don’t you give it a whirl? Try it out on your mother or your
partner as they are often the most in tune with you. Send them very specific loving energy to help them at
a certain time. Don’t tell them about it but when the hardship is over for that person, ask how they did and just tell them you thought of them, nothing more. Then see what you get back. Most people will say
things like: I smelled your perfume or I just sensed you close, or even: I felt as if you were holding my
hand the whole time. It is a wonderful present to those who are going into surgery; those who are alone in
a difficult environment; those who are alone on the road for a long time and for example have to stay
awake. We have all heard some crazy stories like that, now it is time to have our own. 2012 and beyond
will see a lot more of these type of happenings as we become more in tune with our abilities because of
the shifting energies.
Learning mostly comes from experience, and experience is what changes the vibration of a person. Real
learnings are based in reality; they are not based in thought only and merely processed by the brain. If we
were to learn by just listening to the experiences of others, the only thing in life we would need is a goodteacher. Fortunately, other people’s experiences can guide us however, they can never teach us the real
thing. Describing the heat of the fire is nowhere near feeling it. Describing the color red is nowhere near
the beauty of seeing it. And feeling the fire of love burn through our body cannot be felt while reading
even the most impassioned poem.
Having said that, we can learn from our so-called teachers! Having an alcoholic parent could mean that
we never have to dive that deep in the darkness of life and get lost in addiction. It might also incite us to
be the best parent we can possibly be. The key here is that we fully experience what life gives us, take
from it what we deem necessary, and have it color our life in a positive way. When we integrate our
lessons fully, this allows us to change from the inside out.
What we encounter in life isn’t always easy to digest as we are emotional beings: we get hurt and take
things to heart. At such moments, looking at the situation with a bird’s eye view, seeing the bigger
picture, the long-term learnings and finding the good, will soften and deepen our experience.

We have many choices in this life and we make them every day. These choices can be as simple as what
to eat for lunch to as complicated as selecting our life partner. This world is a playground, a laboratory
where we can experiment! In a way we chose our parents, friends and even our enemies. We must beawake and show up. We must carefully evaluate our choices before taking action, and then simply let our
own intuition guide and move us along through our personal choices.
Where we are and with whom determines our choices. Being with people who have a higher compatible
vibration might teach us things and have us move up in vibration more quickly. Remember how parents
are happy when their kids have ‘good’ friends? They know that in the growth process of their child,
making the right decisions and being surrounded by the right friends are critical factors in determining the
success of their youngster. All of our actions, or non-actions, have consequences. Every road chosen
leaves another one behind. Every road defines us.
In everything lies a choice. If someone gets imprisoned for stealing, at one point they had a choice not tosteal. Granted, sometimes things just seem to run away and escalate a lot faster than we want. But we are
the one in the driver’s seat deciding where we are going and what we are doing. We cannot make others
responsible for our own choices. Remember that not choosing and letting others choose for us, is also a
choice.
Sometimes we get boxed in by the choice we make. This can easily be seen by people who get hooked on
drugs: their whole body and character changes. While in their downward spiral, they are not the only ones
learning but drag others in there with them. They can be overtaken by the dark side of life. When they
finally get out, they do not easily forget the lesson as it usually takes a strong act or event to unhook from
such a downward spiral in life.
We all have different lessons or issues we have come here to tackle. Some of us seem to have less going
on than others. But then again, we are looking at others from afar. Chances are if we know everything
others are going through, we would not want their life either. After all, there’s a reason for the saying ‘the
grass is always greener on the other side’.
My Personal Actions
You create your own reality and manifest a fulfilling life by truly wanting to see something happening
and by acting towards that. The most important question is: who are you or who do you want to be?
List 5 things you want to see happening in your life.
Write the thoughts and actions you can take to facilitate their manifestation.

Ever heard the saying: the harder the task, the greater the reward? That is the case here also. Many strong
and powerful people started from very humble and hard beginnings. Yet they often make the happiest and
most successful human beings. They know what success and happiness is when you come from so little.
And yet, having little in life is not a cause of unhappiness!
Nothing in life is really a coincidence. We have come here with the genes and the environment which will
help us attain our true purpose. We might try to avoid the obstacle by going into victim mode. Some
people still give a childhood experience as an excuse for their acts when they are 50 years old! But are
they then responsible for shaping their own life or do they still give away their power to the wrongdoer?
Although we might not really perceive it as such, there is no separation between us. We are all connected
and are here to learn from each other. By making decisions specific to our life, we determine our own
well-being and that of others around us. We get showered daily with many wonderful gifts (even though
some of them may not seem wonderful at the time!) which are there to help us grow and experience life to
the fullest.
For some a rash in the face is enough to bring their lives to a halt whereas others can keep going until a
more severe illness assails them. Dis-ease in the body acts like a GPS - to prompt us in the right direction
or to remind us to stay constant to our true self. A physical ailment, a person, an event, genetics - these
are all props on the stage of life, they exist to help us understand our purpose and what role we are here to
play. Perhaps our role is to be nothing but a beggar who lives on the compassion of others and to be a
visual reminder for those who have more, to add compassion to their life.
The key here is to start evaluating our own stage and what we see. This can turn into a very rewarding
experience. We should ask ourselves probing questions such as:
• Have I become someone better over time or have I been distracted from being the real me,
and what I aimed for in this life?
• Am I the person, and is this the life, I want for myself?
• Does what I focus on make me happy and support a balanced state of living?
• What would happen if I change XYZ (i.e. an area where you feel uncomfortable) in my life?
Visualize a seesaw with you sitting comfortably on one end. Now add your relationship with your spouse,
friend or family member. What does the seesaw do? Do you feel the wind in your face from going up or
do you feel the thud from landing on hard ground? Or maybe you just keep floating and stay where you
are?
We are multifaceted beings and there are many dimensions to how we live our lives. Some of these areas
balance each other out; if we feel good about ourselves, it is much easier to feel good about our
relationships with others. This is the place where happiness and contentment meet. We will find that some
areas are more prevalent at certain times than others due to choices we made. The purpose is to balance

these areas out as much as possible and to arrive at a general balanced state. This is also called the Tai
Chi.
My Personal Actions
Evaluate the major areas of your life in order to see what steps you can take to attain a more balanced
state of being; that place where happiness and contentment meet. Use the seesaw visualization to help you
sort through your feelings about where you are at and where you want to be. Maybe you can use a scale
from 1 to 10 to accurately show how they make you feel. Write down some changes you want to make.
Examine the areas in your life which have to do with:
• Relationships
• Creativity and children
• Friends
• Career and life path
• Self knowledge and spirituality
• Family
• Wealth
• Fame and recognition
• Others?

The law of abundance is one of the key laws of the Universe. There are enough resources for all of us
when we all act within the law of abundance. It is not because we breathe air that there is less for our
neighbor. More does not mean better. There is surely no reason to store or grab more than we need. For
example, we can only use so much air. We live according to the law of abundance by only taking what we
need, by replenishing it for others or by leaving it in its original state (e.g. air). When we do this, we keep
the balance by making sure that nothing is worse off because of our behavior.
It has long been thought that it is necessary to think seven generations ahead (several hundred years into
the future) to determine whether the decisions we make today would benefit the children seven
generations into the future. Right now, most of our actions won’t even guarantee the survival of the next
two generations. We don’t have to look farther than nature to realize that without acts of greed or
selfishness, there is enough for everyone.
If we don’t overfish or pollute the waters, there will be enough fish for generations to come. Instead, we
exhaust our environment and so-called property and leave little or nothing for the next in line. Some of us
are good at taking what is offered, others are better at giving. The trick is to be good at both so that both
are in balance. It is a complete dynamic. Just as you open up your front door to make sure the stale air
goes out, the open door allows the fresh air to come in! Energy only exists when things move. Energy,
just like money, needs to flow like water.
Our actions are not only determined by what society as a whole says is acceptable or not, but are
primarily determined by which standard and belief you want to live by. If you truly believe in abundance
you will never be short of anything and you will see even the smallest piece of bread as a gift. It is always
eye-opening that very poor families understand the law of abundance so much more. They are so happy to
offer you just some boiled water while many of us could only think of a double mocha latte with a
sprinkle of cinnamon as a treat.
On many occasions, when sitting in a half-day big prayer or meditation group, I have seen people sharing
what little bread they had with their neighbor. The surprising thing is that you are so happy to receive
something that you don’t think to criticize the size but are content and become full as your belly absorbsthe “unexpected” gift. Your body feels as if you ate the whole roll by yourself! Our mind and emotions
are so powerful and they allow the law of abundance to come to life!
Once we get to the place where we live according to the law of abundance, we can make our energy field
bigger through our deeds: a place where even more giving and taking takes place. Something given with
love is of the highest caliber; a heartfelt wish or thank you might mean more than money. When we lack

abundance in our lives, let’s not ask the Universe to send us all the things we think we need but instead
start giving proactively and restore the flow of abundance.

Nothing is mine or yours, all is ours.
When you give to someone, you will receive from others; when you receive, you will feel the need to give
even more. The energy keeps going. Within our own energy field, giving and receiving or the law of
abundance, can be visualized as an infinity symbol. As much is given as received on both ends; it is a
perfectly balanced deal with the Universe from which we feed and receive. When the two actions are in
balance, the infinity symbol is sealed off between us or with others and the Universe as a whole, and the
energy keeps moving around eternally.
Once we live the reality of abundance, there is an effortless flowing of giving and receiving. People who
live according to these laws are found in all levels of the population. Their characteristics have to do with
heart and peace of mind; not in correlation with wealth. To date, it is believed that barely one tenth of us
have freed ourselves from the shackles of scarcity and greed, and hold the belief and manifestation that
there is truly enough for all of us.
If we truly believe that we live in abundance, then we can play an integral role in helping others
experience the same. When we have not found that balance yet, our energy leaks out (look at the image
below – the infinity sign is not totally closed off) and we keep having the feeling that things aren’t really
fair, that we have been shortchanged by Life. What we don’t seem to realize is that we are the ones
creating the imbalance in the first place. When we feel that we do not live in abundance and all of this

sounds quite foreign, it is a sign that there are parts in our life where we are out of balance, such as with
people, animals or our environment.
Look at the top of the image and see that it corresponds with the bottom: giving and receiving grow or
decline at the same rate. They move energetically in perfect unison. Again, the infinity sign has to be
completely closed for the energy to keep moving around and for balance to take place. When it is open
and we do not give in accordance with what we receive or vice versa, we create a ‘leak’. At this point we
are not living fully within the law of abundance.

Here are some questions to help us enlarge our own “infinity sign”:
• Are we an example to others by being the best we can be? And how could we be better?
• At the job: Are we appreciative for what we do have in the job market and do we treat others the
way we want to be treated? Are we a productive, ethical, and helpful co-worker, boss or
employee? Are we there to profit from what is given or are we also willing to give back beyond
the requirements or the current habits of our environment?
• Are we a happy-go-lucky person who can smile or speak the right words to just anyone?
Someone who brightens up other people’s day when they are in need?
•
In our relationships: are we the friend, the sibling, the parent, the spouse we truly want to have inour life? Are we that person?
• Can we forgive others for what they are without judging them? Can we see the best in everyone?
• Can we truly give without expecting anything in return?
• When at college: if we are given a scholarship to play a sport at college, do we play that sport to
the maximum of our ability although the ‘contract’ might allow us to even keep the scholarship
without playing?
• Within the family: Are we kind and fair to our parents and siblings? Are we there for them when
needed?
• Within society: are we carrying our weight by participating in programs to help others and taking
care of ourselves and our dependents without weighing on others?
• Are we leveraging a special gift(s) we possess to benefit others?
Life is in the details; details which are only noticed when you look up close and pay attention. Then
again, there is always a gradation in perception. There are so many things in life we receive on a daily
basis if only we were to take the time to pay attention instead of rushing by. First we tend to see nature as
a whole but over the years we start looking closer and through the flowers, find our way to color. The
beauty of a flower can be perceived by looking at it but think about what a bee sees while sitting in the

flower: the stronger intensity of seeing and sensing its surroundings. All we need is more awareness and
appreciation and our life will wonderfully intensify over time.
This planet oozes abundance. Nothing in our Universe is wasted. We breathe out the carbon dioxide
which the trees need and the trees in turn release oxygen which we need. One of the keys to receiving is
to accept what the Universe gives us with grace. Enjoy the juicy apple which falls from the tree just asyou pass by. Enjoy the bird song brightening up your walk. Soak up the deep colors of the flowers.
Appreciate the smile from the baby in a grocery cart. Let someone steal an admiring look at you. Be
appreciative of the friendship from a co-worker.
You might not realize it but rest assured: an attitude like this creates a better balance within us and within
the Universe as a whole. Our gut knows what is given to us and what is not, no-one has to tell us. We also
know what we give from the heart, what we do unselfishly, and what we give in anticipation of something
in return. When we shift into balance between giving and receiving we create abundance, and we will
have enough of everything. Then slowly but surely we will move into that perfect ‘infinity’ relationship
with our surroundings.
Strip everything away for a moment. Look at your entire life and see how things equal out. Picture
yourself in the middle of a desert with your primary needs met. Who do you miss? Who or what do you
want or love more than anything? You mightn’t have money problems but only a few people to love.
Your answers to questions like these are a secret source to answering what abundance means in your life.
And when you do not have your health, what wouldn’t you do to get it back?

True abundance makes us beautiful and happy from the inside out. Material possessions only offer
temporary solace. There are no rules governing abundance. If we love daisies, seeing a field of daisies
represents abundance. Abundance can be anything our heart desires and differs greatly from one person to
the next. If we are sick, we will not wish for a nicer wardrobe. If our heart is broken, we will be apathetic
about the car we once dreamed about. In an era of more, more and more, people increasingly put
monetary wants before what they truly need. But does that leave a smile in our heart?
Giving is easy:
• Be kind to people, animals, and the planet.
•
Give that beggar your lunch apple• Put that quarter in the collection can for a good cause
• Buy lemonade from a kid’s stand
• Let a mother with young children sit in your spot
• Help an elderly person cross the street
• Forego a vacation to help your aging parents
• Volunteer at your local shelter or community clinic

• Speak a kind word to a person in need
• Withhold criticism, just empathize
• Smile at an angry or sad person.
Of course, it sounds easier than it is. It took me years to be able to accept things in return for some of my
actions! But once I did, and this within weeks, I was showered with a deluge of gifts in all types andsizes. It was an incredible learning experience, not because I was thrilled with the small gifts, but because
I saw the happiness and satisfaction it brought to the donors. In a way, they did not want to have a debt
toward me and genuinely wanted to show me their love. And all the time, I was not accepting that
because I didn’t want to impose. It was a humbling and eye-opening experience as I had closed the door
to so much beauty for many years.
The Universe always gives back more than we give; so the more we give, the more we get! It sounds
impossible and yet for those who figure it out, it opens the door to absolute abundance because life is so
plentiful and abundant. Our lives are filled with moments of giving and taking:
• Focus on both: giving and receiving. Appreciate both and feel their unison. Give more than you
receive, this way your abundance balance will restore itself much more quickly.
• Start learning to accept the gifts you are given wholeheartedly. They might not be exactly what
you want but might be what you need. They might also mean a lot to the giver. Think of a child
who gives away his last candy or quarter. Be appreciative and try to see the heart, intention, and
beauty of what is being offered.
• Never give up; success might be just around the corner.
• Recognize the things that are changing in your life once you start this process. Abundance and
wealth come in many forms. Stay alert and enthusiastic and the Universe will respond in kind.
• Make especially sure that whatever you promise to give, you follow through on. If you borrow
something, remember to give it back and be genuinely thankful. If you have to, write it on yourcalendar or put it in your phone so you don’t forget! Life is in the details. If someone gives us
something under certain conditions, fulfill those conditions, if not, do not accept the gift.
• Look at the superficiality of what you want or need and evaluate its core: what do you truly need
or want in order to be a better and happier person?
• Start seeing the beautiful synergies, which happen when you give, and what you receive in return.
Remember that not all gifts have equal value. For example, receiving a cup of water in the desert
could be life-saving.
• Evaluate what you have. Be aware of others who are less fortunate than you. Be grateful. Create a
reminder in your phone to write something that you are thankful for every day. You will be
surprised about all you have going for you!

We all have special reasons why we are here and when we start straying from them, we have a built-in
mechanism, which sends us signals in order to keep us in check. Taking time to be introspective will
prevent us from straying too far from our true purpose. In this way we are super powerful. If we do not
listen to our built-in alarm system, such as illness, it is like taking the batteries out of a smoke detector --
that does not change the fact that there is a fire!
“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.
It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us.' We ask ourselves: Who am I to be brilliant,
gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing
small does not serve the world. There's nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't
feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the
glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone. And as we let our own light
shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we're liberated from our own
fear, our presence automatically liberates others.” From ‘A return to love’ by Marianne Williamson 1
Once we find our power and purpose, we can then start to live the life we were born to live. A life tailored
to our soul. And when we have consciously chosen that path, it immediately reflects in our mind and
body: we become emotionally happier and physically healthier. We are then free to lead a life full ofloving and being loved, full of giving and receiving, and full of wonderment and surprises.

The notion of the ‘Universe’ includes the Divine and brings the responsibility for our own lives back into
focus. In a way, there is no Universe without us being here to perceive and live it in the first place.
Absconding from responsibility and relinquishing control over our lives to others is easy. However, as we
are powerful beyond measure, we carry responsibility for our actions. We are the co-creator of our life.
If someone else is pulling the strings on all we do or are, why are we here in the first place? Each day we
have the choice, through our many thoughts and actions, to make a positive impact on ourselves and the
Universe. As we are part of the Divine, we are inherently responsible for our body and our being as that
too is Divine. We are part of the game. Better said, we ARE the game.

THE ABCs OF ENERGY

This belief that we are greater than the physical underpins most religions. Although we humans belong to
this earthly scene, we are part of a collective consciousness which goes far beyond us and yet is
completely comprised within us.
When we start getting moody with life, the question which often arises is: “Is this all there is?” This is
when it is important to open our eyes, to stop being unconscious and to see things we were not aware ofbefore. We must start to pay attention to different angles in order to find solutions. The answers are
different for everyone. However, just asking the question is already an invitation to open new doors.
Most of our contact with the Universe happens through our energy ‘channel’: this is an energetic tube
which goes straight from the soft spot on the top of our head to the bottom of our spine. A fetus gets
‘connected’ while still in the belly of its mother. Life as we know it comes through that tube. Some
mothers are even aware when this happens as if they ‘know’ the baby has arrived. It is a very spiritual and
emotional experience. This mostly happens around the fifth month of pregnancy. The ‘tube’ disappears at
the ‘end’ of life.
This energetic channel allows us to perceive on a deeper level than this physical plane. Science still
knows very little about how we function within our environment and the role of our sixth sense or ‘gut’.
There is a network of 100 million neurons lining our gut that is so extensive that scientists have even
nicknamed it our "second brain".
People in tune with their environment can through practice, experience, and intention, make the ‘energy
tube’ energetically wider and stronger. This can be accomplished through prayer, meditation or living a
life closely connected to our surroundings. The opening and strengthening of our channel brings with it
peace, balance, and a better understanding that we exist as spiritual beings having a human existence. If
we are not conscious, it is hard to understand and change. By manifesting our traits on the physical plane,
others make them more ‘real’ – we just need to pay attention!
By being in the here and now, our channel or our sixth sense, becomes more developed, and creates a
feeling that we belong to something more than just this physical body. An analogy with taking a shower
might drive home the point: when we stand directly under the shower, we will get the maximum amount
of water over our body. If we stand too much to the left (preoccupied with the past), we will miss most if
not all of the water; if we stand too much to the right (preoccupied with the future), we will also miss out.
Our energetic tube is very similar. When we are not in the moment or too busy with the past or future, we
miss the connection with what is around us.

You are co-writing your own life: you are the one behind the steering wheel deciding where the car is
going. Surely you cannot control a pedestrian on the road or a deer that makes you brake hard, but you are
the one setting the direction. So where is it that you want to go and what scenery do you want to see? What would not only make you happy but even excited to start the drive? Rest assured that the Universe
is sending you answers if you only ask for them. And then, of course, when the answers show up, you
must pay attention.
Start by figuring out what it is that you want more than anything. See how much effort you realistically
can and want to spend on this transformation. Set some major milestones. No sense having lofty goals
which end up being physically and emotionally too strenuous over time. The easiest way to create impact
is by doing things in small increments and on a consistent and continuous basis. Focus on things you are
willing to go to bat for. Figure out what you would like to see accomplished in your life. Start out small
and give it time to grow into a balanced lifestyle.
Look at ‘you’ with fresh eyes as if you had just woken up and see your life for the first time. Too many
times people regret having been workaholics because they missed the simple moments in life. The answer
always lies within us. Slowly but surely the rest of your road will come into focus. So look in the mirror
and explore every little freckle or bump, every little scar or blemish, every beautiful part of the body you
were given. Appreciate it and smile. Now look deeper and see the beautiful and intricately different
person that you are: the way you notice things, the way you love. Evaluate the connections you have with
the people and environment around you.
Sit back in your car of life, start your ignition and set your course. Enjoy the scenery and the ride. Just
focusing on your destination alone will make you miss that beautiful rainbow over the meadow or those
funny kids frantically waving at you from the school bus. Get in touch with what would make you proudto be you and what would make you happy.
As life continuously changes, so do we. Although, we sometimes hang onto the illusion that everything
stays the same, we know better. Our body sends us signals when we should reevaluate things. You create
what you are, so if you do not like what you see, change yourself and your scenery will change.
Determine what it is you want and then manifest it. If you want to be happy, hang out with happy people
and show up for things that make you laugh. Stop listening to opera if that makes you mellow and find
music which uplifts your spirits. Sing aloud and verbalize the joy you so desperately want. Just give
yourself some time to adjust. No-one changes overnight. Change comes gradually just like the caterpillar
who needs his time to become a butterfly.
It does not pay to let someone else make decisions for you, as those decisions do not carry your power.
Put your two feet on the ground: become the person you are and the one you want to be, all fused in one.
Any decision taken by you will have your best interests at heart as you know ‘you’ far better than anyone
else! Be proud of the person you are and what you stand for. Decide where somebody as magnificent as
you belongs and how you can make your impact on this life and on the people and environment around
you. In the beginning this might be a strange concept as we are so used to being controlled by what is

to check in with ourselves. We want to make sure we look like we are living a fulfilling life on Facebook
and are concerned by what others think. Slowly but surely we forget ourselves in the process and then
wonder why life has such little meaning. We are living other people’s lives and what is worse; we don’t
even know whose life we are living. We have allowed ourselves to receive messages from so many
different sources and angles that our mind is in constant overdrive while we perceive ourselves as an
empty shell.
Once we come to a standstill, we can take a look in the mirror and ‘see’ or ‘perceive’ who we are. We are
unique, and therefore we are actually perfect according to our own image! When we understand fully whowe are, we live life with acceptance and without struggle. A life built for us and by us.
Our unique combination of gifts, body, and heart is greater than the sum of its parts. We are far more than

in the here and now and who can see through decisions and actions by using soul as much as mind. We
possess depth and heart. Happiness lies within the unique self and the acceptance and pride which reside
within that.

Just as flowers are temporary, so are we. However, the seeds make the plant re-grow year after year, and
the garden appears to be the same and goes on forever. When looking at a garden we rarely see one
particular flower, we see the whole. We have forgotten about the whole. We have become alienated from
it and have grown very egocentric. We are the pretty flowers in the vase but we soon realize we are
wilting: we are unhappy and realize we should go back to the garden where nourishment was plenty. We
want to get rid of that hole in our gut that keeps reminding us something is off. We are led to differentplaces but not necessarily to a place that makes us happy: the garden we belong to.
How can we get the feeling of belonging, of happiness, and beauty back? How can we return to a place of
belonging, where we were in the right place at the right time; where we had a sense of accomplishment
while also being in awe of creation?
This happens when we respect all living things and understand their relationship to us. The sun on our
faces gives us the necessary warmth. The nutrition from Mother Earth is given in the food we consume.
The best things in life require little struggle or effort. They just flow as if we are softly floating on our
back in a river, seeing the sun, the plants, the trees, and places we pass. We let the current take us and the
water support us; no resistance, only enjoyment.
Balance comes in all shapes and sizes and life is never dull. Sometimes we are being challenged so we
can find out who we really are. People show up in our lives to teach us lessons about ourselves. If our
boss is not honest in his/her ways then that is also a reflection on us: Do we face it? Do we integrate it in
our being? Our actions reflect who we really are. We will get treated the way we treat others and no
matter how difficult it might be to comprehend, the stance we take influences our core being and our
whole.
After all, we are the one creating ourselves. What defines us as a unique person is built by life’s decisions
and experiences. When we make a decision which feels right to us, it usually matters little what the
consequences are for us. It just feels liberating, makes us happy, and even relieved. That is why peoplesay that a good example and doing the right thing is contagious. It actually is!

If only we were to notice and listen to ourselves and the signs around us, life wouldn’t be that hard. Life
can actually be easy and full of help and answers. Nevertheless, as we are all unique, we have to find our
own answers and live our own truth. No-one can tell us what that is or do it for us. What is nothing to
others might be a major issue to us and vice versa.
It pays to evaluate what we think fits or does not fit in our life and act accordingly. Think of a toothache;
in the grand scheme of things, is a toothache a big deal or a fact of life? Just remember how it feels when
we have a toothache and somehow we can’t think of anything else. We are the only ones to decide what is
important in our lives and what is not.
That’s just what manifestation is all about and we should use it to our benefit. We just need to figure out
how things fit. The Universe has a way of reflecting the things we need if only we would pay attention.
For example, we might get laid off after we had expressed a desire to spend more time with our kids. A
complete overhaul in our life is rarely warranted nor the best course of action. Most of the time, the
smallest things make the difference. With a good dose of reality and creativity, start chiseling away. We
can act, react, or stay immobile. There is no judgment in any of it but it does define who we are. A lot of
practices, which are harmful to us and our surroundings, and the world as a whole, surface to teach us
lessons. You as the driving observer in all of this and are asked to take a stance.
We are spiritual beings who sometimes forget that our bodies, minds, and emotions are sophisticated
creations that need to be taken care of. The healthier our body, the better are all its functions: toxins get
fully taken out, sufficient oxygen and circulation reach all the parts, and the brain and heart get a short
breather from the whirlwind of emotions which life brings.

We benefit from cultivating compassion not only for others but above all for ourselves. Kindness will
allow us to go through life with more ease. Sometimes solutions or insights are so easy we wonder why
we didn’t see them earlier. Different approaches to life will diversify our thought process and provide us
with more options. We are born very self-centered and in some ways stay like that for the rest of our
lives. Where our attention goes, so does our energy. As soon as we create openness in our thinking, a
wealth of insight and beauty come flooding in.

Selfless acts are those where we forget some of ourselves for the good of another being. It is a “heart
thing”. Being in victim mode or doing something because we are ‘determined’ to do something good,
does not work. It is not your place to make it ‘good’. We also need to exhibit compassion toward
ourselves; we should not forget ourselves in the process, whether it be our health or our balance.
A person can be compassionate in many different ways; having only one piece of bread and sharing itwith someone is a compassionate selfless act. We usually feel the beauty of such a moment and are at a
loss for words. Taking care of a sick animal or the environment might be selfless act if we are doing it
with love and not expecting anything in return. When we walk away we might think things like: “that was
a special person” or “that felt good”.
People can only be helped or saved if they want to. An act of compassion is dependent on whether it is
done wholeheartedly or not. The compassionate act on our part is enough and it is irrelevant whether or
not the person accepts it. True compassion also lies in accepting the particular stage a person is in or
wants to be in. All you have to do is reach out and try. So do not get stuck on the outcome. Helping others
by giving some of your money away does not necessarily constitute an act of compassion. If you do it
because it is something that society deems appropriate or is considered a duty, it is not an act ofcompassion. If you give your lunch apple to a beggar because it feels good and right, and not because it is
expected of you, then this constitutes a compassionate act.
At one of His Holiness Karmapa’s lectures in the US, a big black fly was hovering over the 27-year old
spiritual leader. The fly seemed to love the lights and, even more, His presence. Although the audience
was attentive to His words, they couldn’t take their eyes off the fly. All of a sudden, His Holiness turned
to the fly and switched from Tibetan to English. He said to the fly: ‘Hello, how are you? Are you from
California?” The audience roared with laughter at the personalization of the bug. The fly then responded
by swooping over one more time and disappeared! The intermezzo with the fly was a brief one because its
presence was dealt with in a compassionate way. 2

Our body, our car, might be fancy or just a beaten up vehicle but it is the road we take which defines us,
not the car. What matters is whether we get to our destination or not. What good is it to have a fancy car
if we keep getting lost or never even go for a drive!
Once we are fully aware of what the problems in our life are, we can face them or simply avoid them. It
pays to first look at the root cause of the imbalance and at things we would like to change. Let’s not startwith the big stuff, like “I want to be a good doctor or a parent”. Let’s start small like: “I want to sit and do
nothing for at least 15 minutes a day”. Once we consciously launch on this quest, something magical
happens; people and ideas just show up. The pieces of the puzzle start fitting into each other. When we
take away the repetitiveness of our day we start seeing the bigger picture and how our Life, with a big L,
is working out.

We often make the mistake of thinking that what is happening to us is happening in isolation. The story
goes that one day a distraught woman went to see Buddha because she wanted her dead child brought
back to life. Buddha answered that he was willing to do that if she could find at least one family who had
not known death in the family. So the woman set out on her quest and started knocking on doors only to
realize that whether it was a parent, a friend or a child, everyone had known death in their life.
So, if you were to look at a movie of you right now, what would you see and what is the true story when
all is said and done? How would you like to see it continue or what would you like to happen? Be present
and alert. Suspend all beliefs and look at what is going on, you will see things you have not seen before.
Look at your life with the eyes of a child: full of wonder and excitement, full of expectation and belief
that all is possible. Look at it with the eyes of a magician who can perform miracles and allow anything to
happen or show up.
Once the excitement of life stops for the adrenaline junkies we are, we are at a loss. We allow our lives to
be commandeered by others and then we wonder what happened to our life. We act like fish desperately
seeking water. When we are fully present, there is flow: nothing to think about or make decisions on, just
a happy state of life where things are effortless.
It’s like if we were to put plugs in our ears and only listen to authentic sounds originating from us. This
closes off the chatter from the outside world and makes us listen to our favorite subject: me. We can look
at what makes us tick, at who we really are. At first it is scary to strip everything away as we get so used
to being defined by others and our past: we are a child, a parent, a worker, a lover, a patient, and so on.
Now is the time to be ourself away from all those ‘labels’!
It is time to stop listening to the static noise around us and just listen to the real us. When we dwell in the
moment, there is no conflict, just surrender. The best things in life require little struggle or effort. When
we are fully present and do what we truly want to do, things just happen without being pushed or planned.
This way there are no obligations, no resistance, only absolute flow and acceptance. We go with our gutinstincts; do what we feel like and don’t do what we don’t want to. The kid in us is being freed. We give
ourselves permission to live the life we want to live. Nothing is an issue or needs to be analyzed. We are
the person we were born to be and in that lays the ease of “knowing” and “flowing”.

When we are happy, we are on our course. We live close to our Soul.
Look back and see what it is that your environment is telling you. Leave judgment behind and allow
yourself to take things as they are without connotations. Remember that if you do not focus daily and
honor the little things, that after weeks, months or years, you will be so far off course that it might take
you harsh measures to get back to your place of ‘ease’ or balance. Just like a ship that goes off course, the
destination will be far from where it set out to be. Start somewhere and build or adjust from there.
Write down 3 areas where you could navigate closer to your course. Define steps which will allow you to
live closer to your Soul’s purpose.

The year 2012 is a pivotal point for all of mankind. We are responsible for the next generations. This
cannot be something we sit out; 2012 must be a point of positive action. A point in time where we decide
how our future will look. We can create a place filled with love and compassion for ourselves and others.
We are at a point of rebirth. The question is: what do we want ourselves and our future to look like? Let’s
live with our eyes and heart open. Let’s be thankful for all we have, for what is around us and within us.
When we live like this, it’s as if we are born again with different perceptions and endless possibilities.
When we want to see more clearly into our life, we can connect to the universal energy available to us.
We are that lamp who needs the electricity to shine but we need to turn it on to give light to others. Alamp is defined by the light it gives. Just like a lion is defined by his roar. Just like a bee is defined by its
buzzing. And so we are defined by how we use the energy given to us by the universe.
Long ago I visited a Balinese healer, a man who was as old as Methuselah. He put me on a stone slab in
his garden and started poking my toes with a small wooden stick. I let out ouches now and then but he
kept poking until I let out a loud cry. Then he poked that same place again at which point I screamed even
harder. When I asked why he did that, he just smiled, showing all of his 5 teeth, and said that he allowed
what was hidden in my body to become visible. He told me that the key to getting better from something
is to let it surface and face it.
Our society at large has come to that point. This is true about our environment in general but especiallytrue about our own lives. It is time for injustices to surface and for people to get rid of the darkness in
their lives. We forget how small actions can turn our inward selfishness into outward love and
compassion. We can consciously choose to be around the people we care about. And if our ‘reality’ does
not correspond with what we want, we can change it.
It is our life and they are our decisions. We cannot change others, we can only change ourselves. It is our
responsibility and ours alone. No-one is forcing us. There are plenty of options if we are willing to see.

We decide what we like or not. We are the ones who are in control when people and environments affect
us. It is easy to forget our relationship with nature and our food when live in a big city: when flowers
come in a bouquet only to last for several days, where chickens have no head, legs or feathers and are
wrapped in cellophane.
As a spiritual being experiencing a human existence, we all benefit from re-evaluating the life we areleading. We profit from just standing still and looking at what exactly we are using this human body and
life for. What is it that we have come here for?
By now you should realize that the solution to a happy life is within your control:
• Be loving and compassionate toward yourself, others, and your environment.
• Be authentic, stay true to who you are.
• Be a good listener and trust your gut.
• Surround yourself with people and places that nourish your spirit.
• Take time out to be still, reflect, and write down the changes you need to make to live the life you
want.• Take charge! Get into the driver’s seat of your Life and be accountable for your choices.
• Go with the flow of your life. Remember, Life may not always send you what you ask for but it
sends you what you need.
• Listen to the messages from your environment and your body.

Each body has a unique pattern, a unique code and therefore a unique footprint and life. We are a
distinctive compilation of body, heart, mind and soul. Our unique pattern and experiences determine the
health of our body and our sensitivities. Even ‘identical’ twins have such different energy. Just ask a
mother of twins and she will give you a dozen differences without batting an eye.
The health of a person is far more complex and all-encompassing than just the limits of the body. A
person is a combination of spiritual, physical, mental, emotional, environmental and ambient energies. It
is a living being, affected by beliefs, thoughts, feelings, and the environment it lives in. Seeing our body
as a self-contained unit, shortcuts the beauty of our multi-dimensional existence.
When we want to obtain better physical health, we need to look beyond the boundaries of the physical
body. There are so many variables that clean and easy solutions are hard to come by. Our health is
determined by the interplay between a person and their specific environment. For example, a headache
might only come on when going to work or being at work because that person does not like work. It
might be related to perceived stress at work, or to environmental allergies, or excessive EMF fields from
technical devices such as a mobile phone, wireless headset or mouse. Alternatively, the workplace might
have new carpet which didn’t off-gas properly or the air filtering system is defective in some way.
Our body is like a very sophisticated computer which starts emitting ‘error’ messages when things aren’t
functioning properly. When our body recognizes something is ‘off’, it starts to emit signals announcing
the malfunction. The sickness is the body’s dashboard indicating that we are off course and need to make
adjustments. That is when the body is screaming for us to be quiet, rest and make changes in our life. If
we do not respond, the signals become stronger and more intense. Our soul always knows when we are
off track; it is our body and mind who need time to catch up with our soul.
In our hectic lives filled with stuff and events, it is hard to listen to our soul. The moment something stops
us, we attack that particular immobility. One of the modern cures is medication. A fever gets attacked
with antibiotics; back pain with pain killers. Any so-called malfunction gets treated on the surface and the
body is ‘forced’ to move on and keep going. The signals from the soul get lost until the dis-ease strikes
again and again. Then we begin to pay attention. When we do not feel well, there is always a reason!
It might escape our feeble mind, but the body knows best and is sending out signals for help. If we adjust
our lifestyle, making physical and emotional changes, we may start feeling our old self again. If we have
underlying unhealed issues, minor health interferences, such as a cold, we might open Pandora ’s Box.
Each attack allowing the dis-ease to progress further: for example from sniffles, to an infected throat, to

bronchitis to pneumonia. When people reach a severe state of a disease, it is usually a combination of
many factors. In the case of dementia patients for example, genetics, the continuous lack of Vitamin B12,
gluten intolerance and dairy allergies may also play as much a role as the emotional reaction of tuning out
a negative environment.

Just like we regularly take care of our house or our car, so should we take care of our body. It will
actually slow down the aging process and might leave us energetically even younger than our physical
age! It will also prevent many disorders we don’t even want to know the name of. We need to do it not
necessarily because we have problems but to make sure things keep running as smoothly as possible.
Very much like a car, our body is a magnificent piece of machinery which needs a regular tune up and
service and above all some attention.
Our body will disturb our daily routine until we will reevaluate exactly that: our routine! That’s why
problems escalate when we keep grabbing for quick solutions, such as medications, which do not heal the
core of the issue. Our body is constantly trying to guide us to our balanced state and sends us cues when
we are doing things which aren’t in our highest and best interest. It’s the body’s dynamic way of returning
us to health: a headache prevents us from thinking – which in turn will stop ‘over-thinking’ and help us
again to go with the flow.
The old adage “You are what you eat” is still valid but now more nuanced. Dietary goals should not
necessarily be about living longer, but living healthily, independent and trouble free. “Balance and
moderation” are the cornerstones of well-being. The right dose and combination of fats, carbohydrates,
proteins, vitamins and minerals, seem to be more crucial than originally thought. They also varyaccording to our lifestyle and age. As our roles changes - student, athlete, worker, pregnant or
breastfeeding mother, retiree - we can easily lose sight of the fact that our nutritional requirements also
need adapting.
Some scientists still have faith in low-calorie diets although more and more research is showing that they
do not prolong life`3. It was found that mice that came from the wild, instead of being born and raised in a
lab, did not live longer on low-calorie diets. And in 2009, a study of 41 inbred strains of laboratory mice
found that about a third had no response to the low calorie diets. In those same years, other studies in
mice also indicated there might not be a predictable response to the low-calorie diet.
By focusing only on the dietary component of our lives we miss the complete picture as we also getnutrition from our emotional environment. If we have a genetic disposition to not gain weight a low
calorie diet won’t make much difference. If we are not feeling well we will not completely absorb our
food. In short, humans are a product of their habits and environment and isolating one of those habits will
give us a distorted picture. It is much more about moderation, the composition of our food but especially
the quality of it.

The accumulation of toxins can create real havoc in our body. Meats, dairy, sugars, gluten and
preservatives can be toxic. For example, someone who has a sensitivity to milk will take about 5 days to
digest it while it usually takes about 2 days. As we get older, the cells already start regenerating at a
much slower rate than when we were young and we have a harder time eliminating toxins. Our toxicity
seems to be building up with changing food production practices: we are now eating meat from animals
that are kept alive on 3 to 5 times the antibiotics humans ever will consume.
People are not always ‘allergic’ to foods, but are just sensitive. They do make the diagnostic process quite
trying and yield many false negatives or false positives. If you can digest gluten 3 times a week , it means
that gluten is allowed in small doses before symptoms appear and the Celiac test will be negative. The
solutions for toxicity are multifold and we can tailor them according to our lifestyle or determination: cut
out the foods you are allergic or sensitive to, start the morning with a glass of fresh juice filled with
Vitamin C, go vegetarian for a while or stay away from sugar. Exercise also will help release toxins in a
big way.
Although food is one of the most important factors to keep our body running smoothly, so is the
importance of physical movement, an emotionally balanced environment, significant mental stimulation,a healthy level of stress, ample fresh air, accurate supplements, vitamins, minerals and so on.
Did you know?
While more than 160 foods can cause allergic reactions in people with food allergies, the law identifies
the eight most common allergenic foods. These foods account for 90 percent of food allergic reactions,
and are the food sources from which many other ingredients are derived.
The eight foods identified by the law are:
• Milk
• Eggs
• Fish (e.g., bass, flounder, cod)
• Crustacean shellfish (e.g. crab, lobster, shrimp)
• Tree nuts (e.g., almonds, walnuts, pecans)
• Peanuts
• Wheat
• Soybeans
These eight foods, and any ingredient that contains protein derived from one or more of them, aredesignated as “major food allergens” by FALCPA.

The way we treat food and the act of eating is a way of living and above all, an attitude. Food issomething we should be grateful for at all times: it is the life source of the plants and the animals which
nourish us and is key to the proper functioning of our whole body. By inhaling large quantities of
processed food we have become far removed from what the term ‘human’ actually means: a man or
humane person relating to humus or earth, an earthly being. It is time to revert back to the art of eating,
not feeding.
We can start by taking time to shop for the right foods or even grow our own; prepare it with love and eat
it with appreciation. It helps to remember who was involved in growing the food or getting it to us. Let’s
also use and eat ‘whole’ foods: like eating a whole tomato, instead of canned tomatoes with preservatives.
Let’s peel our own potatoes instead of buying mashed stuff in packages. It is not only much healthier but
it helps us, and our family, establish a link with true nutrition again. A small tasty fresh salad will be
much more nutritious than a big blob of a packaged salad no matter how few calories we think it contains.
We need to get back in touch with ‘real’ eating. When we eat nourishing food, we’re sending our body
many signals, and all our senses are involved. That’s when our body gets the energy it needs. And when
our body feels good, so do we.
When we eat we should use all of our senses: sight, touch, smell, sound and of course, taste. Let’s take a
whole peach for example (as opposed to a can of peaches in syrup) and check out its beautiful color, feel
its softness, smell its perfume, feel and hear the sound it makes in our mouth and ultimately the taste of its
juiciness and sweetness. Isn’t that mouth watering? How long has it been since we involved all of our
senses? Our way back to eating properly will make us more happy and healthy.
With the globalization of this world and the availability of seasonal foods all year round, we seem to mix
everything up. We basically ignore our food, we eat unconsciously while working, driving or watching a
movie. We are in a feeding, not an eating, mode. Most of us have lost our loving connection with food and
with that, part of our health. Our current eating patterns are removed from what Mother Nature intended.
Of course, we can’t all start growing our own foods again, but we would benefit hugely from creating a
relationship with what we eat.

Medication can be instrumental when the body is already in a rapid state of failure; for example, glucose
levels are already critical, or cancer is spreading too rapidly. However, once out of let’s say
chemotherapy, alternative healing methods help to restore the immune system and keep other functions
from failing. After all, the aim is to restore the balance and quality in our lives when dis-ease strikes.
We reflect what we are. We create our own reality by what we choose. If we choose a doctor who
believes pain and medication are two constants in life, then we set ourselves up for that type of life. If, on
the other hand, we believe the body can find its way back to balance on its own, then we allow it to do
exactly that.
We know our own body better than anyone. It is very important to check in with one’s own experience
and intuition. We know what works well and what our body likes or dislikes. The years of medical
research and experience available do also assist us in attaining better health. For many, modern medicine
works well. However others do not process medication well and feel out of sorts just from taking an over
the counter sleep or pain medication.
Complete healing of a person happens when approaching the body in a holistic manner. Everyone is
different and possesses a unique body. In order to diagnose a body’s dis-ease properly, a more in-depth
look into a person’s life is definitely needed. It could be as simple as looking into the profession of the
person and linking that back to the dis-ease:
• a carpenter who works with lots of toxins or removed asbestos years ago
• a nurse who has only worked nightshifts for 15 years and can’t get pregnant
• a teenager who starts trembling as a result of a fall down the stairs when he was one
• a business woman with circulatory problems caused by frequent travel and sensitivity to air cabin
pressure
• a Brazilian living in the US with many nerve pains due to dramatic change in diet (lack of vitamin
E) and lifestyle (intense manual labor).
The body can use encouragement to let it heal itself, assisting with medicine only if need be. We need to
let the body do its magic so it actively tries to restore the imbalance. When we immediately move in with
medication it is the same as saying: “don’t you worry about anything; I will take over from here”. The key
point is to try to find ways to restore balance to the body without making it dependent on drugs. We need
to favor ways so the body can repair itself and strengthen its immune system.

An integrative approach is absolutely central to the health of our society. Some of our young medical
professionals are indeed back into the business of healing not curing. They are looking at alternatives and
other ways to get the patients back on their feet and favor prevention and coaching. They are looking at
how to keep the organs and systems functioning without their removal or over medication. They are
looking at the overall well-being of the body, nut just one system or organ.
The Zipper Effect promotes the integration of both traditional and alternative healing methods 4. Just like
we have the two sides of our jacket zipping up gradually and completely coming together, allowing it to
totally close up. Both approaches complement each other and work together allowing the body to heal in a
more complete and integrative way. When looking at the whole body and the total environment of a
person, we can become more effective and efficient in getting a person back to a healthy state. A holistic
approach also improves the quality of a sick person’s life.
4 Martine Bloquiaux coined that term since 2006 in her practice while working alongside medical professionals. Her book The ABC’s of a
Healthy Body, covering the Zipper Effect in detail, is to be released in September of 2013.

A man is but the product of his thoughts;
what he thinks, he becomes.
~ Mahatma Gandhi
A. &+. A8&0 G. 38#$M
Our brain processes thoughts which then get experienced throughout our body: the taste of a juicy peach,
the experience of a painkiller, the perceived beauty of a flower, the pain of a toothache. Neuroscientists
tell us that about 95% of our behavior arises from our subconscious, referring to the amount of time that
we just ‘act’ without express thought. This makes the mind only responsible for as little as 5% of our
cognitive activity throughout our day. In other words, our ’deliberate’ acts only account for 5%.
When we have a thought or feeling, there is an associated electrical charge stimulation in the brain. This
electrical storm creates an electrical reaction in the body which in turn, produces neuro-peptides and
amino acids. So the body actually produces chemicals associated with certain thoughts or feelings. The
more we associate with these thoughts or feelings, the more chemicals the body produces. (Dr. Candace
Pert, Biology of Emotion)
Our mind, our mental body, is made up of thoughts, just as the emotional body consists of emotions and
the physical body is made up of matter. These bodies integrate and become our reality: we remember we
get seasick so we feel nauseous; we feel overwhelmed and start to get a headache; we know it is Monday
so we feel tired. What we process and perceive is very different from one person to the next. Our brains
might process data in a similar way but the outcome is different as we are conditioned by our
experiences. Thoughts are subjective as they are linked to the subject: us.
This all comes down to the simple fact that the chance to change things in our life lies in a whopping
95%! The times when we have these automatic thoughts or reflex actions can now little by little be
replaced by deliberate direction and thought process. So it is actually very easy to create change contrary
to common belief. All we need to do is be awake and ask if what we are doing still suits us or if we are
doing it because of conditioning from our own past, our family’s past, our community’s past etc.
If we leave our conditioning behind and start from a clean slate, just think how limitless the possibilities
are: how we can create a new life for ourself almost instantly. Surely we want to remember how to make
tomato soup but better yet, should we try out a different recipe? It pays to ask if all our automatic
processing still fits who we are or who we want to be.
It is also important to note that the mind is very sensitive to auto-suggestion. If a person persuades
himself through his will that he can do a certain thing, provided it is physically possible, then he will in
fact be able to do it no matter how difficult it may be. By the same token, if a person imagines that the
simplest task in the world is beyond his abilities, then molehills become unscalable mountains. Thus we
are what we think we are and the fear of failure becomes in itself the cause for failure.

For the same reason, Coué, warned us to be careful about speaking about a child’s illness in front of him
as he firmly believed that children are particularly susceptible to autosuggestion. His motto was “For all
we think becomes true to us”5. If we are sick we should say with absolute belief: “every day, in every
way, I am getting better and better” and the mind and all the corresponding bodily functions will start
producing just that. Most of our day is filled with automatic thoughts; think about how powerful it would
be to positively and purposefully start training our mind to create the life we want to lead. By reducingour ‘pre-conditioning’ and replacing it with deliberate direction and thought process, we can create the
life we want.
38. H#$1Z<,1) (.%&0#,$78#9
Life starts with conscious acts. The more new thoughts or feelings, the more new chemicals the body
produces. This rejuvenates us and brings the joy back into our life. The mind-body relationship is very
prevalent in our language as we have an abundance of expressions which make the point: he’s a pain inmy neck, it is back-breaking work, you are giving me a headache, my stomach’s in a knot, he’s on my
back, they are a weight on my shoulders, he just rams things down my throat. Luckily we also say things
such as: he is a man after my own heart, I have my eye on you and you are a shot in the arm!
Our mind has the possibility to process things in many different ways. The death of someone dear to us
will force us to experience life and death. We can choose to see the wonder or the dark side in situations.
There are times when life gets really rough and things just don’t bounce back. However, the body wants
to be in its natural state of balance and will revert back to that state when we allow it. We can immobilize
ourselves through the plethora of legal and illegal drugs available in our society or, we can decide to
reflect, learn, and move on stronger than before.
As thought, mental, or intellectual activity, underlies almost all human actions; it is important to
understand the physical and spiritual processes of the mind. The mind-body relationship links the mind or
mental processes to the effect they have on the body. When we calm our mind, we can experience how
the body immediately sheds some of its stress and goes into a more relaxed mode. When we calm down,
the 95% of our automatic programming causes our mental body less agitation.
If our thoughts produce certain chemical reactions in our body and even create the reality of our
environment, the question becomes how far do we let our automatic processing take over and mold our
life. This is easiest to see when you are in a very different space than usual. The body and mind are so
much more alert. That is the time where learning comes more easily and where we can carve out a new

After having worked as an attorney for a while, I wanted to create a whole new ‘me’ by moving across

queen, and the Universe had lessons to teach me - I went from riches to rags. I went from a closed, big
family environment to living alone in a small apartment, from a fancy job to a minimum wage job, and
from a great car to public transportation. Although it wasn’t always easy, it was a very rich experience
which, to a large extent, still determines who I am today.
I found myself in a rather loose multi-cultural environment, far from my traditional Catholic upbringing. Ihad to learn to go grocery shopping in huge stores devoid of personal relationships, drive on massive
freeways, speak a different language, eat new foods and deal with different people with diverse customs.
It gave me a different outlook on life altogether.
To this day that experience has spiced my appetite for other cultures and lifestyles. I still feel a burst of
fresh energy when I meet new people or visit new places. It makes me feel so alive. It makes me realize
that I am so much more than the ‘drone’ I can be. All I need to do is to look around, be open and
conscious, at least more than 5% of the time. It isn’t difficult at all!
My Personal Actions
Next time you plan a holiday, think of something very different. It could be as fancy as going to the
jungle, or as simple as talking to local people where you’re visiting about their outlook on life, eating
with a local family or even attending an event in your area. Maybe a backpack holiday where you really
have to pay attention to your surroundings? A holiday which teaches you something about yourself,
anything to take you out of automatic mode; something which feels like a breath of fresh air to your
current life. Not another golf course which could be anywhere, not another closed off hotel with a beach,
but a place where you are with the locals doing something ‘intense’ and ’different’ - something that
makes you feel alive.
Write down somewhere like this you would like to go. When would you plan the trip and what do you
need to do to manifest it?

No matter which cards life deals us, our active thoughts and actions shape our uniqueness. We can
choose to be strong or to let events get us down. Even if others are having a hard time surmounting
difficulties, it does not mean that we have to. We create our own reality in the here and the now. We make
conscious decisions about what we can handle. We create our own power by thinking and feeling our
strength. No-one can give that to us. We are who we think we are.
Thinking allows us to make sense of the world in ways that are specifically significant to us. What we
think, we are or we become. This is great when things are going well and we have positive messaging or
conditioning going on. The problems start when we have negative thoughts or feelings permeating our
being. Negative thoughts become reality; we become frustrated and depressed. This is when we take
ourselves to bed and do not want to get up for a while.
When we make new choices, it causes a release in the body which lets our old energies make room for
new things. It is a euphoric moment for the body because new choices replace some of our ‘broken
records’ and update us with the latest ‘software’. This software corresponds to our current mind and body,
not the one of years ago preconditioned by an environment we have outgrown.
This is noticeable when people start a new relationship. All of a sudden things change. They do not mind
staying up late and watching different movie genres or suddenly they can cook more than a hard-boiled
egg or be responsible for household chores. They replaced some of their old programming with new and
updated ‘software’. They deliberately created a new reality. A reality which corresponds to whom they
are now; a reality which brings them joy and excitement and makes them feel alive.
There are many mental exercises designed to help us regulate our mind at will. Positive mental
programming encompasses more than just telling ourselves affirmations, it has to be practiced. Athletes
use affirmations to have their mind and body know what winning feels like. It also works well with
certain ailments or diseases such as brain-related diseases, depression, and phobias.
Things are easier than we think! Our bodies favor a mentally, emotionally, physically, and spiritually
balanced state. This balance is also our way back to happiness, joy, and contentment. When given a
chance, they automatically go back in balance. When things get rough, just remember to give yourself and
your body time to recuperate and think positively. Don’t expect the physical or emotional pain to persist
and be strong. The body does not want that either. Over the years I have learnt not to get my painkiller
prescription filled and to rest it out.

For ages, mankind has been aware of the physical effects of our mental state. The body heals when there
is balance. What we believe with our mind, we manifest in our body. By being aware and present, we
create a fresh outlook on life and eject out of the numbing reactive mode that the monotony of daily life
can produce. So be alert and use your thinking to shape the future and the body you want.
When many people combine their energies or meditation force, they can even cause a major energetic
shift to occur. Such a group can attract, in a very strong way, what they intend to. Back in the 80’s,
NASA tested this theory and scientifically measured that a large group of meditators influenced the
magnetic field of the Earth6. So if this influence is tangible and real, we have the ability to create positive
changes not only in our own life but also in the lives of others.
These are the instances when we can expand our thinking! We are the co-creators of our lives. Our mind
informs our body of our reality which then triggers or forms emotions. We create what we are. It’s that
simple. We transform our life by being conscious when choices and decisions arise and making them
from the vantage point of where we are at that moment. We are the ones who define what we experience:
beauty or ugliness, love or pain, balance or suffering.
“Wherever you go, that’s where you are” my Dad used to say. We are who we are and no change in
environment is going to modify that. We only change if we want to. We define ourselves based on how
we think, feel, and act. When we are fully in the present, we can see with better clarity, like looking
through a clean window. We are the ones who color our world depending upon what we choose to absorb.
Everything is a reflection of ourselves as we are the observer and we are the creator. All thoughts and
senses come through us. The only way to process and decode things is to let them filter through us.
Because our brains are susceptible to autosuggestion, we are influenced by the thoughts and actions of
others. If we are told we are pretty enough times, our brain will process that thought and act accordingly.
If we are told we are stupid one too many times, we might give in and stop trying to figure things out for
ourselves. No life exists in a vacuum so we need others. However, a lot of things in life are about
conditioning. If we think there should be pain involved, we will manifest that pain. For example, when
kids have a minor fall, they first look at the expression of their mother, and depending on her reaction
they cry or not. If they think she isn’t around, they may just continue playing.
The good news is we can change our thoughts which, in turn, will change our life. We have limitless
potential if only we could truly believe it with our whole being. We are our own worst enemy when we
limit or put a ceiling on our thinking; when we do this, we stunt our own growth and joy. And why wouldthings not happen they way you want them to when you are the co-creator and you manifest what you
are? So why the preconditioning and negative messaging in the first place? What is difficult to some
might be a breeze to others. Have you ever noticed that when kids are not aware whether something is
difficult or not, they just go ahead and do it and then are surprised when you give them praise? If we are

raised in an environment which fosters the belief that anything is possible, we will not see the obstacles
that others see.
If we don’t like what we see, then we can change ourselves and in turn, what resonates with the ‘changed’
us will appear. When we have a different approach to life, we create a whole new reality. We resonate
with what we are, therefore we mimic ourself in our environment, and therefore we create that what weare. By opening our thinking and removing our self-imposed barriers, we step out of our self-imposed
box. If we see all that we are and we create what we are, then we also have unrestrained potential!

“A human being is part of a whole, called by us the Universe, a part limited in time and space. He
experiences himself, his thoughts and feelings, as something separated from the rest a kind of optical
delusion of his consciousness. This delusion is a kind of prison for us, restricting us to our personal
desires and to affection for a few persons nearest us. Our task must be to free ourselves from this prison
by widening our circles of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole of nature in its
beauty.”
~Albert Einstein

Every moment of the day we make a choice on where our attention goes and what we want to see and feel
in our lives. Have you ever noticed that once you buy a new car, all of a sudden you see so many people
are driving the same car? Our mind is busy with the things we are interested in, and when we are busy
with our car, here we go picking out similar ones in our environment! The same goes for the people in our
environment: they will reflect continuously what we feel or believe in. Just have a quick look around and
see what many of the people surrounding you have in common and then have a look at yourself. Don’t
they seem to bring out the best and the worst in you?
We use our heart and whole body to integrate what is going on outside of us: our dissatisfaction with a
project, the mood of a family member, sadness because of the death of a friend, anger or frustration at a
co-worker, our disappointment with something happening in the community, the horror pictures of
genocide.
When we experience an intense emotion, it lodges itself somewhere in our body. We store specific
emotional memories in an emotionally related place in our bodies, such as love in our heart and anger in
our liver. When the emotions pile up too much in that area, it starts aching or feels ‘off’. If the emotional
injury persists, the physical ache may transform itself from physical discomfort (temporary) into a dis-
ease (chronic).
We are painting our own life, choosing our colors and our scenery. Our colors differ from day to day and
year to year. We choose certain people to accompany us, we choose to accept or refuse what life offers,
we choose particular events to mark our life; it is as if we pick our own colors which then perpetuate and
propagate.
Realizing what is causing us emotional distress constitutes already half of the solution. The body will by
now respond with some flexibility and less pain when it gets excited about a possible way out. However,
only the action to facilitate that change will eliminate the discomfort completely. Hopefully, the next time
that same discomfort starts to act up we will recognize the signal, remember the emotional reason
connected to the flare up, and prevent things from escalating.

THE ABCs OF ENERGY

When an emotional disturbance is obvious to society, we seem to have an easier way of coping. For
example, if we lose someone dear to us, it is understood that the body will be without energy, that it will
have a hard time sleeping or waking up. During those times, we tend to sleep more to disconnect from
reality, but also to allow the body to recuperate and let the emotions drain away. Not much else will help.
Medication will not ‘do’ the coping but will only temporarily numb the pain. We understand we have to
get through this ‘dark’ phase of life.
Life happens and we are not always in control. For example, when someone cuts us off on the road, we
can start by looking at what is really is going on. Perhaps it is a very stressed young woman who is
having a rotten day, much worse than yours. And you, as a kind and considerate person, are not going to
add to her negativity. Send her positive energy, and wish that her day gets better. Of course, move out of
the way but leave the initial anger or frustration right there. “I am thankful that I am at a better place in
life. I remember how it feels not being there.” No anger, no resentment, no emotional leftover.
Did you know?
Over the years, much literature has appeared on how specific areas of our body correspond to different
emotions. “Heal Your Body” of Louise Hay, Hay House, is an easy guide to the emotional components of
physical distress. Some examples:
Headaches and hitting your head are the equivalent of a rap on the head to say "wake up and pay
attention". You are ignoring your intuition--your gut feelings, or you are ignoring your own deep needs.
Cancer can indicate a deep secret, hatred, guilt, or grief 'eating away' at you. Breast and uterine cancer
reveals a lack of nurturing or self-nurturing in your life, or an inability to nurture others.
Pain in the back of the head C1-C5 (where it joins to the spine) or pain in the neck means you believeyou have made mistakes and haven't yet forgiven yourself. You (and perhaps others) are judging yourself
harshly.
Reproduction is our most creative process and deals with yourself identity, individuality, creativity,
sexuality, and your ability to experience pleasure.
Eyes are like windows. Eye problems can indicate you aren't looking at something clearly, or don't want
to examine something. Nearsighted people tend to live in the moment and not plan for their future.
Farsighted people tend to plan for the future and project their thoughts to the 'what if's'. They have a hard
time staying in the here and now.
Stomach and digestion are your physical assimilation process. Likewise, you assimilate information
from your environment and process your emotions. Digestive problems occur when you have an inability
to 'digest' or absorb what is going on in your environment or inside your head or heart.

In order to start feeling better, we need to look at the causes of distress. Explore and see how, in that
particular area, we can adjust life to accommodate the part that is suffering. If we can’t breathe properly,
maybe we should stop blaming where we live and look at why we are not able to accept and absorb whatour environment gives us. What is it that we do not like to the point that we shortchange our body of fresh
air when filling up our lungs? It’s important to also notice what was going on with us emotionally and
spiritually when the disease surfaces. This will help us find the solution(s).
We are the ones choosing to pick up particular energies and emotions. We are that intuitive. So when we
focus on people hurting us, people will actually start doing just that. It is as if we hang out a sign: “please
hurt me”. It is the way we integrate the imbalance into our life which ultimately determines our overall
health. We can choose to get hurt and move on or to make a drama out of the situation. We are the co-
creators of our life and what we focus on, we manifest and grow.
Everything in the body is so inextricably linked that we always need to study the whole in order tounderstand the parts. For example, one organ or system might trigger an imbalance in another. We, as the
patient, are the ones with the most insight and should not get bogged down in a myopic view of our body.
What feels right or wrong to us in times of distress is usually right on. We should be the first opinion and
all the rest should come in second. We need to listen to our own instincts. We must take stock and figure
out what is going on as problems only get more severe or urgent when ignored. So we need to ask
ourselves questions like: Could these headaches be linked to over-thinking or not thinking at all? Do I
have a reason to not feel supported and therefore I’m aggravating my backache?
Our life continuously changes and many times we do not know where the road leads. We are uncertain,
get worried or lost. An emotional disturbance in our life can cause a backache to appear. Of course,
bending over in an awkward way does not help either, but then surely you do not get a backache eachtime you bend over that way either? We exhibit the emotional discomfort so we would consciously start
realizing that there is something going on which we have to address.
And we consciously react: We rest, put a warm pad on our back, take a painkiller and move on. However,
when we see the correlation with our emotional turmoil and find solutions, the pain seems to disappear
naturally and does not return. The body is sending us a signal where it says: when you move it will hurt
so you need to stay quiet for a while. When we listen to the body, we get to be still, which allows us to
look at what is going on. This is when we honor the emotion-mind-body connection.
Where a disease and an emotion might sit in one part of the body; an emotion is felt in the whole body. A
positive emotion will give a boost of energy to all the systems and organs. A negative emotion willdisrupt the body. This can cause the body to gradually deteriorate although no physical symptom might be
found for a long time. Emotion determines the energy of the body like a coat hanging over it. If the coat is
light and bright like the energy of love or joy, then the physical body will replenish and feel healthier.
Happy emotions vibrate at a higher level and rejuvenate the body.
On the other hand, a negative attitude acts like acid, and eats away at the emotional body. People who are
continuously negative or sad wear a ‘heavy’ coat that soaks up and drains energy from all parts of the

body. These areas are slower to heal. The body turns sour and starts exhibiting low energy spots which
are taxing particularly in areas which weren’t so good to begin with. Slowly but surely, the body gets sick
in those spots. It is as if someone turned off the light in there as those areas will start exhibiting a much
lower energy level than the rest of the body.

Somehow it is easy to tell others “My body just can’t take it”. People understand that the physical body
can only do so much, but not much attention is given to the health and resistance of the emotional body.So why not listen and treat our emotional body with the respect it deserves? So when one of your body’s
‘dashboard’ lights goes on, take note, give yourself TLC, and examine your life.
Of course, we can keep going without making changes and take an aspirin to dull the headache. But one
day we are going to have to find out why we get the headache in the first place. Our body sends us pain
signals for a reason: a warning sign that something needs attention. Just like when we are driving our car:
when the oil light comes on, do we put a post-it on top of it so we can’t see the light? Does that make the
need for oil go away?
When the body wears down, people get different signals. My dashboard shows a sore throat and swollen
glands when I need a pause. If I keep going without making changes, my voice will drop an octave and Iwill be sick in bed within 3 days. My first physical defense is to reduce my workday postponing whatever
I can, sleep more, and to take extra vitamin C. The rest in turn gives me the chance to evaluate things
more clearly and to stop the rat race I was in. It gives me feedback and emotional rest.
We do not want emotional unrest to keep affecting our overall health as the body can only cope with so
much at one time. The key thing is to address the problem(s). So we need to look at our dashboard from

time to time and start interpreting the different ‘signs’ as they vary from person to person. We choose our
own dis-eases!
Until we pay attention, until we listen, until we understand, the pain or discomfort will stay with us. Once
we decode the root cause, the lesson goes away: we somehow decide that the boss isn’t so bad, the boss
leaves, we get offered a better job and so on. We move forward and see things in another light and actdifferently towards others as we have found a new balance. We have grown. The most important thing in
our life is to follow our heart and to be true to who we are.
Intuitively we surround ourselves with people who are like us and are going through similar events or
lessons. This makes it easier for us to understand our issues and is part of the beauty of life. Cultural
similarities may make it easier for people to get along but what if in the diversity lies the learning? As
people are different so too is their outlook on life. People who are not entirely honest might show us how
we can be more honest or where we need to take a stance. People who take relationships loosely might
help us refine our own views on love. Each time we learn, like a sculptor, we chisel out our character a
bit more.
Emotional balance is critical to the overall well-being of the body. The more we experience and learn, the
sooner we become aware when something is off. And slowly but surely, we won’t need painful signals to
tell us there is something we just don’t like or want to experience.

It’s all a matter of perspective… From The Winnie the Pooh Series
"Good morning, Pooh Bear," said Eeyore gloomily. "If it is a good morning," he said. "Which I doubt," said he.
"Why, what's the matter?"
"Nothing, Pooh Bear, nothing. We can't all, and some of us don't. That's all there is to it."
"Can't all what?" said Pooh, rubbing his nose.
"Gaiety. Song-and-dance. Here we go round the mulberry bush."

"It's snowing still," said Eeyore gloomily.
"So it is."
"And freezing."
"Is it?"
"Yes," said Eeyore. "However," he said, brightening up a little,
"we haven't had an earthquake lately."*

It helps to be aware of the emotions of people around us. Some people are ‘energy suckers’; they deplete
us when we are with them for a while. We need emotional nourishment on a daily basis and, when we are
running low, others can tilt our balance very quickly. Our lives thrive on balance. We absorb thenecessary nutrition from our environment; about one fourth of our nutrition is made up of emotional
energy.
We all get our ‘moments’ and we live in the ‘moments’ of other people. It is much better to keep some
distance and see a situation for what it is. When someone is upset, try to figure out why that person is
upset and take it from there. There are many reasons to get ‘emotional’, it is how we deal with difficult
situations that defines us. We can relate emotionally to other people but we are more helpful to them
when we keep our own balance. It is when we start getting lost in the emotions of others that our own
balance will start tilting.
Some people bring sunshine wherever they go. Some walk around with a dark cloud above their head. Weco-create, whether we know it or not. We see good things if we want to see good things; if we want to see
bad things, they aren’t far behind. The Universe does not care if things are bad, good or indifferent. We
color that in and the color depends on what we favor.
On certain days situations can overwhelm us and our ‘emotional’ cup leaks from continued abuse and
frustration. So how do we replenish our cup? There are many ways to be happy and our body gets the
healing effects! It can be as simple as having an ice cream or spending time outdoors. Just know that
when we find that source of happiness, we stimulate the 'feel-good' factor which affects our whole body.
For example, beta endorphins, one category of the feel-good neurochemicals, are released when we listen
to uplifting music, jog, meditate, practice yoga or have sex. So go out an en-joy life.
We also can start looking at the emotional distress from different angles and look for advice. This is
where it gets interesting: Who do we go to when we need advice? Someone who has done nothing or
someone who has gone through the fire and lived to tell the tale?
Once we have succeeded in our specific learning we become mentors to others. Real experience comes
when we have integrated it within our entire body and understood it completely: mind, body and soul.
The best AA counselors are the recovering addicts as they know the pitfalls and the hard work that goes
into recovery. They understand the turmoil, the emotions, and the bodily pains that are part of the disease.
They haven’t just figured it out, they have lived it out.
Emotional nourishment is so crucial in our lives and so often undervalued. It is one of the major reasonswhy people recuperate much faster in the loving environment of their home than in a hospital. This is why
a baby stops crying in the arms of its mom where it gets that love and nourishment. This is why when we
work in a hostile environment, it drains us as we lose that 25% of nourishment our body requires to stay
healthy. We can compare that to cutting our food intake in half. Would we not quickly notice the
difference and do something about it?

A Client’s Story:
I feel as if every contractor that comes to my house is out to get me. I‘ve had tools stolen, beenovercharged, things were not fixed correctly; you name it, I’ve had it happen.
Also, I have all the mosquitoes of the neighborhood in my back yard. I bought a grill 2 months ago and
still have not been able to use it. I am eaten alive every time I try to start. They are after me.
I have been single for more than 6 years now. Men aren’t nice to me. I’m always worried I am going to
fall for the same, no good man. Anyway, it isn’t really possible to meet someone as I have herpes and I
can’t very well do anything with that hanging around. I just can’t seem to get rid of it.
Physical symptoms: persistent headaches and loss of memory-- just shutting things off and not
remembering things “it is as if no-one is living in here”.
Anne’s Reality:
It is as if people give Anne a basket full of fruit and somehow she always picks out the fruit she’s allergic
to. She then blames the people who gave her the fruit but does not see that the basket also contains many
things that would be beneficial to her. She is the one choosing. Her own intuition and feelings are blocked
by fear, she is stuck. She feels that as everyone is out to get her, probably all the fruit is bad for her.
Steps Anne can Take to Get Unstuck:
H Determine why she feels the way she does (old hurt patterns surface, reaction against ‘bad’ ex-
husband)H Identify when the issues started and why
H Analyze what she is doing, how destructive her own actions are and how she makes others
responsible for her feeling like that
H Take time out of her day to think about what is going on which reflects these ‘old’ patterns or
feelings (10 minutes of sitting quietly in the morning and evening)
H Know and believe that 90% of things in life just work out fine and focus on that rather than
focusing on the 10% that doesn’t. By making that switch she can attract more than 90% of
contractors who will do a job without problems instead of focusing on the incompetent ones.
Some of the Things Anne Can Learn:
H She must let go of the fear; this is a combination of trust and keeping an eye open
H Understand that she does not need to react in a similar way anymore; her ex-husband is gone and
she has learnt from that experience
H By leaving the autosuggestion “they are out to get me” behind she will stop manifesting anything
which can be out to get her (e.g. mosquitoes)

Many environmentalists compare men to termites, who destroy everything in their path. We seem to take
without any respect of what belongs to us, others or to the greater good. In order to come to an improved
balance in our world, we need to stop manipulating things to achieve short-term self-centered goals. It is
hard for us to be less egocentric but we need to see our environment as a total image, away from our body
or immediate setting; a place where there is room for the well-being of everyone and everything. Yet we
would benefit from adjusting our ways to accommodate the greater good.
As people we color everything through our perception. On days where one is already morose, a rainstormcan be seen as an intrusion. On the other hand, we are aware that we need the water to fill up the
reservoirs, to nourish the fields and animals, and to clean off any excess pollen or dirt. We are so
fortunate to live on this beautiful blue-green planet. We have fresh air, endless waters, and old and
majestic forests. We can sit by a tree, even hug a tree, and feel connectedness with the abundance of
Mother Nature. We seem to forget the healing and positive influences of Nature when we are not feeling well. Why not
heal a headache with a calming walk or by sitting on a park bench for a while? In the old days, the sick
were brought outside every day to enjoy some sunshine and fresh air. In cold weather, children would be
bundled up but outside playing. They were walking or riding their bikes to school. They had a stronger
immune system than the sickly kids of our generation.
Think of the energy of the Universe as electricity and we humans as lamps – when we are plugged in, we
can access the electricity. The better we know how to absorb the universe’s energy or electricity, the
better we ‘shine’. Not only is this energy a necessity for human survival, it replenishes us and heals us
when needed. It affects the well-being of our body, mind, heart, and soul.
Shamans, the Native American healers, see humans as an intrinsic part of nature. They look to nature to
find answers. They believe that even the animals give people messages when they need guidance or help.
A sudden appearance of a hawk might warn us to be attentive and to act quickly while a deer might be a
reminder to be softer and kinder toward ourself. People are part of nature and we need all the natural
elements to survive and to be healthy. There is no life where there is no clean air or water. Voiding the
forests of trees will ultimately affect our air quality, overplanting fields will lead to loss in biodiversity
and corrosion, regular dumping of cleaning products will affect the water quality.
However, most of us have become so far removed from Nature. We live closed up in cement towns barely
respecting the change of seasons. We stay indoors when it rains or when it is warm. We shun most
animals as they interfere with our quality of life: bugs bite, dogs bark, pigs smell. Have we lost all our

senses? We are all interdependent. The dog is man’s best friend, the pig provides us with meat and the
bee pollinates our grains.
We have no choice but if we want to stay healthy and keep our children healthy, we will have to be more
conscious about our actions. We once again will have to become responsible guardians of our precious
surroundings. By restoring our ecological balance we can sustain ourselves for generations to come.People have ‘good hearts’ and want to participate in something that brings them joy and satisfaction; they
do not mind making moderate changes which make sense. We can start small and work our way up. Very
few of us are cut out to become crusaders but all of us can make a consistent difference. Before we take
action we need be conscious first.
The incredible thing about finding answers and acting upon them is that it ultimately makes others happy.
We have to be strong enough to live our convictions and exhibit compassion towards those who might not
yet be ready. Just remember that few people wake up in the morning and say “I am going to mess up this
world”. People are basically good when given a chance and shown the way. We can help them by sharing
our awareness through conviction and action. There is a general call for a new way of living which is
more sustainable and which views the needs of the planet and people as a continuum. A new humanity.
?#J#$- #$ ]&+C,$)
For thousands of years, man did live in harmony with his surroundings. We looked for shelter against
mountains or rock formations; we used the rivers to replenish and clean ourselves; we hunted wild life to
nourish us. We learnt from our ancestors and through experience. Alas, our lives have evolved since then
to a point where our immediate link with our environment has faded; it is time to relearn some of the old
ways.
One of those ways is the Asian Art of Feng Shui which deals with the energetic blueprint of a place or aspace. It looks at how: a room sits in a house, a house sits within a property, a property belongs to a
neighborhood. It examines how things relate and ‘feel’; it explores the link between a specific space and a
specific person.
When buying a house, we do not buy just any house. We buy a house for ourselves: one where we feel
comfortable, healthy, and happy. No price tag or idyllic description of a property will make us change the
way we feel. Do we have an ominous feeling when we first visit the house? Do we get goosebumps the
moment we set foot in a place? Do we feel like we belong when visiting the property? When sensing our
environment rather than rationalizing it, we can uncover many ways for our surroundings to correspond
with who we are and what we need.
We might want to do some research and make sure that the brand new development is not built on an old
landfill with fuming toxins. We might not feel safe in too big of a building or in a solitary place far from
other houses. We might want to live away from power lines with our young family. We might be noise
sensitive and avoid being on a bus route or on a busy street.
Why move into a pet friendly neighborhood if we do not like the sound of dogs barking? Why live on a
street full of families when you are single? Why live in a wooded area when you have bad allergies? The

constant complaining about the discomforts of an environment can be quickly solved when we
consciously choose the environment that fits us to start with.
Just as a fish needs water and a panda needs bamboo, so are we creatures who ‘need’ certain particulars in
our environment. So when evaluating one of your environments (home, office, holidays etc.), do some
soul searching first. For example:
• Who am I? Single, athletic, animal lover, allergic to pollen
• What do I absolutely need? Urban area, running areas, garden for the dog
• What do I not care about? Young families, noise from public transportation
• What do I want to avoid at all cost? Fields, wooded areas, suburbia.
In many cases, we can’t change our surroundings but we can choose to be part of them or not. No-one is
forcing us to live somewhere. We can always move. We do it to ourselves. We inherently know what we
like and where we thrive. We know how we feel and how we react. All it takes is time to listen and let our
body and experience do the talking. Once we know what is going on, we can act.
My Personal Actions
What environment makes you feel nurtured? What environment makes you feel depleted energetically?
Evaluate your environments (home, office, holidays etc.):
• Who am I?
• What do I absolutely need?
• What do I not care about?
• What do I want to avoid at all cost?
When you evaluate this, do you think your environment is nurturing who you are? Could you do better? If
so, what steps can you take to make your environments more nurturing?

We are sensory beings and on any given occasion we are picking up outside stimuli. We see our body as a
contained vessel but nothing is further from the truth as about half of our energy sits just on the outside of
our body (see Ambient Energy, Chapter 9). This energy is attached in an egg-shaped balloon around ourphysical body. It is about 3 inches wide but can expand to 2 feet when we find ourselves in familiar or
nurturing surroundings. This outside balloon allows us to recharge and pick up elements from our
environment.
As we are continually surrounded by people, we are very sensitized to their energy. This can be very
positive: babies benefit from being in their mother’s arms as Mom’s energy restores or comforts them.
Women who are not breastfeeding should still bottle-feed their baby as the near identical energy of both

bodies is healing for the two of them. Some people have the innate ability to diffuse blockages and are
great to have around especially in ‘rowdy’ families and office teams.
By the same token, some people ‘leak’ negative energy and we find it harder to be with them. We can
even become uncomfortable when people come too close physically to us. It feels as if their energy sticks
to our clothes and skin and makes us want to go home and shower. Just remember sitting in a meetingwhere parties were at each other’s throats. We perceive this energy as an intrusion ‘you’re in my space’
and it makes us want to move away.
What we pay attention to, good or bad, enlarges. We can hear the beautiful bird song or we can focus on
the bird poop on our car! It is up to us to choose what we want to see. We can surround ourselves with
people who makes us happy and in balance or we can add negativity to our life with constant naysayers.
Our choice will be crucial to our own development and will make us shine, or not.
People are not the only ones we are sensitive to: there are many other ‘invisible’ forces in our
environment. Sensitivity to techno pollution or electromagnetic fields (EMF) is known to cause
headaches, fatigue, stress, sleep disturbances, skin symptoms like burning sensations and rashes, pain, and
ache in muscles. We can diminish our exposure by living away from power lines or power houses,
professionally update and ground all electricity in our house, sleep away from outlets or unplug
appliances when not in use.

If you would like to protect yourself when you are in a negative environment (let’s say a hostile office
environment) you might want to try out the Bubble Technique. It is easy and requires just a couple of
minutes a day of practice. Simply imagine yourself inside a ball of white light which cannot be touched
by anything negative as the bubble will shield you like the wind moving around a mountain. The bubble
extends about a foot around your body. If your bubble were to come into contact with something it will
bend to compensate, much like two balloons pressing together.

People who get lots of visitors in the hospital seem to recuperate faster. Visitors have made a special

or physical body. In essence, we can release energy from our ‘bubble’ and our body as a whole and send
it through intention to other people or other living creatures.
When we receive energy from others, we process it in much the same way we process food; except we
don’t use the digestive tract, we use our ‘energy track’. That smile, kiss, and loving energy actually gets
integrated within our energetic system. Think about how powerful it is to send love to someone just bysmiling at them or by blowing them a kiss! Although we often do this in an unconscious way, some of it
happens in a direct and conscious way. You might hear people say: “I can’t deal with him right now”.
They know their energies are not compatible at that point in time and interacting with that person will
unbalance their own energy.
A teacher who had read Masaru Emoto’s book “The Hidden Messages in Water” (see below in Did you
know?) experimented with the young children in her class. She took 3 big identical jars and filled them
with water and rice. She placed one in the front of the class instructing the preschoolers to say “I love
you” to it when they entered the class. She told the children to say “I hate you” to another jar. The third
jar was hidden in the back of the class and ignored during the experiment. After several weeks the rice in
the jar with the “I love you” message started sprouting while the “I hate you” jar was foul. However, the jar that was ignored was the worst off; because it did not receive any attention at all, it slowly died off.
This shows the power of our words and of our actions. And it goes further than this; we know we can
send someone good thoughts and energy and it does have a direct effect! We do it many times through
prayers but just thinking about someone and sending them positive energy is healing. When we wish
people well, we send them something they can absorb and integrate into their bodies. This is also one of
the reasons why medical staff has seen that time and again a person heals much better at home in a loving
environment, rather than in a sterile hospital, void of restorative energies.
If we‘re allergic to bees, we stay away from bees unless we want to get stung. If we do not like the way
someone makes us feel, then we should take action and not ask the offending person to do something. Wecannot make the bee or that person responsible for our sensitivity. How can you stop a bee from being a
bee? In the same vein, how can you stop you from being you? The Hindus say that the roar of the lion
defines the essence of what the lion is. It is his path, his dharma, to roar. When he loses his roar, he loses
his dharma. So don’t ask others to change their essence: know yourself and take personal responsibility.
We have to be alert and draw a line when things do not seem to be compatible with our own energy.
When things in our environment do not feel right, the insult or injury will continue unless we take a
stance. We must listen to the signals. After all, we are sensory beings for a reason.

revolutionary research prove that thoughts and feelings affect physical reality. He captured water's
'expressions’ and developed a technique using a very powerful microscope in a very cold room along with
high-speed photography, to photograph newly formed crystals of frozen water samples.
Dr. Emoto found that water from clear springs and water that has been exposed to loving words shows
brilliant, complex, and colorful snowflake patterns. In contrast, polluted water, or water exposed to

negative thoughts, forms incomplete, asymmetrical patterns with dull colors.
Since humans and the earth are composed mostly of water, the implications of this research create a new
awareness of how we can positively impact the earth and our personal health.
Moreover it finally gives people a visual on how our word and actions definitely influence our
environment. We can now see how something as simple as music can cause a certain change in our
bodies.

We live life through our own experiences: through doing, sensing, and feeling. Even a ‘negative’ event
such as a broken relationship can be a very loud but positive learning. We do our learning with others
who complement us in this learning process in one way or another. It is as if we bounce off each other,
ask the right questions, provide some of the answers or show how it can or cannot be done. We end up
teaching, guiding or learning from each other’s experiences.
Understand that most of this is done in a subconscious way. We are not focusing on the situation or
deliberately choosing someone to help us. Of course, that happens also, however there is so much more
going on. Ambient energies are the energies around us. They somehow find us and complete our learning
process. They make their way to our body and energy, and if we are willing and able to take on the
experience, a transfer of energy will take place.
To date, known ambient energies are:
• orbs which affect our spiritual body
• healing keys which affect our physical body
• various entities such as ghosts which affect our whole body
In the chapter on environmental energy, I mentioned that part of our energy, our own type of electricity,
sits around our body like an egg-shaped balloon or bubble. Over the last decades it accounted for about
30% or less of our energy. With the 2012 changes our body is undergoing, this external energy will
slowly grow to about 50% over the following 7 years. So as much energy will be sitting outside of our
skin as inside it! It will help us absorb energies from our environment better and we will also be able to
emit them better. Stronger natural ‘healings’ will take place just by being in a positive place.
This energetic change in our body also makes our current ‘aura’ evolve into a two way interchange of
energy. We will not only emit energy in a stronger way (similar to our current aura but more potent), we
will also have our outside ‘balloon or bubble’ absorbing the outside and transferring it inward. Once we
realize how powerful or how detrimental this can be, we will consciously become more selective in our
interaction with all that is around us.
When you meet kind and compassionate people, these people can be bestowed upon you. Even without
doing anything special with or for that particular person, you are ready for a ‘donor’ to show up in your
life. You can just sit on a park bench and receive something extra-ordinary while sitting next to a so-
called random person. You might be sitting in a sacred or holy place. Although you do not need to do

THE ABCs OF ENERGY
- 58 -
anything, there needs to be some type of ‘contact’ between humans or with the place in order for this
transfer of energy to happen. So in turn, you bestow this energy upon others!
This heightened transfer of energy will force us to interact in a different way with what is around us and
we will need to be more aware of how it affects us. We will be like children having to learn many things
over again by trial and error. So just putting on a mask to counteract air pollution is not really going to besufficient. It will help out the airways but it will do very little for the overall health of the body. A body’s
energy field and physical body which become soaked in something of inferior quality will start to suffer
more quickly. Phenomena such as air and water pollution will become very real threats to the outer layer
of the body.
As we become more sensitive to our environment, we will ‘experience’ in different ways. We create what
we are. Things we send out will come back to us and we will know it! We can’t start to remove all
dishonest people from our life if we can’t fully live and understand honesty ourselves. When we are
dishonest, our immediate environment will be too and we will be the recipient of dishonesty. When we
are nasty to people, we will sense they are returning the favor.
The exchange of these ambient energies happens in a place where time stands still. A place where there is
no difference between heaven and earth but where both are present simultaneously. This is what is called
“heaven on earth”, and we make that exist. By our actions we create that special place - a place and a
feeling we don’t easily forget and find hard to explain to others.
Ambient energies are actually replenishing and by absorbing them better, they will help us to heal
ourselves more quickly. Positive energy will be allowed in and will not automatically be shut out as an
‘invader’. Our immune system will learn not to be overly aggressive and will have a renewed sense of
what is in our best interests or not. It will be much stronger, more sensitive and refined, and will
noticeably improve the overall health of our body.
As this new and evolved immune system is a defense mechanism, it will also be better at warding off
‘true invaders’. The influences of where we are and what we do, will be felt on a deeper level.
Cocooning7 will become even more important and so will the meaning of a peaceful and sacred space.
We may favor the comfort of our own home over noisy, over-crowded or negative places. As we become
stronger, we will also become wiser.
7 Cocooning is the name given to the trend that sees individuals socializing less and retreating into their home more (Faith Popcorn, 1990)

Just as the lamp lets us know whether there is electricity or not, we now have more common ways to
gauge or even ‘see’ specific energies around us. We sometimes get a feeling in certain places which we
can’t describe and many times we discard our feeling. However some of that ‘feeling’ can now be caught
on film. In recent years, phenomena such as light orbs have been appearing in flash photography. They
are particles of energy which look like light balls or soap bubbles. They seem to hang around a specific
person or place. They vibrate at a higher level and cannot be seen with the naked eye.
Orbs are like snowflakes, they are practically all different. Orbs get activated by what is going on or by
what is needed at that particular time by a person or place. They replicate by splitting up into a perfect
holograms: each duplicate orb still is the whole original orb. We can find high concentrations of orbs in
places of pilgrimage such as Bodhgaya in India where Buddha is said to have attained enlightenment (see
picture), Lourdes (France) or Rome (Italy). They are also in sacred Native American places, such as the
Redwood forests and Sedona. They augment the local energy of a place or person. They comfort those in
need, appearing at their conscious or subconscious request. They seem to get activated and split up as a

THE ABCs OF ENERGY
- 60 -
perfect hologram when we meet a special person or get a spiritual healing from a person or a specific
place. Very specific energy (information) gets transferred by an orb.
Orbs vary one from another and possess a unique spiritual energy which a person can benefit from: such
as specific variations of love, acceptance, and compassion. As we evolve in our lives, we accumulate
experiences and as a reward are gifted with an orb or orbs. These gifts contain assistance that will help uswork on spiritual matters, building upon the ones we’ve ‘mastered’. In essence, they lighten up the path
ahead and make it easier for us to find our way.
We are unaware of the credit for ‘good deeds’ we have accumulated in this life, however, they can be
‘sensed’ in our orbs. When we are compassionate toward another person, we can spontaneously create a
holographic image of one of our own orbs and transfer it to the other person. It means that the recipient
has something in common with us and has now learnt some of the lessons we’ve acquired in the past. For
example, it could be about accepting people for who they are while suspending a specific judgment. Our
body links up with this person and automatically knows which orb(s) to transfer, in other words, the orb
the recipient has earned.
When we receive an orb we are mostly aware that something special or out of the ordinary just happened.
We can perceive it in many different ways or with varying intensity. Tears can come to our eyes or we
feel emotional in some way. Whatever it is, it feels as if time stood still and it gives us a great feeling
inside. Babies have always been born with about 2 orbs, however, since 2012 the average child will get 3
orbs when coming into this world. Top spiritual leaders can work their way up to about 150 in their
lifetime. It is not something you can analyze or expect. I have met young sick children with about 50 and
old people with only 15.
Although we transfer a particular orb, we still get to keep the original as we automatically created a
hologram, its identical twin; it just doubled up! Orbs can multiply indefinitely without compromising
their original strength or quality. Some people call the orbs angels or saints, others call them positiveenergy. An orb can be transferred by simply smiling at someone (an act of love) but above all by wanting
the best for that person (act of compassion).
We do not decide on who gets an orb or not as we don’t know what we have or what they need. The orbs
find their own way. When we’ve learned something substantial in our life and increased our vibration as a
result, it is as if we got rid of a stone from our backpack, making our load in life lighter. This is when an
orb comes to join our energy field and becomes witness to our learning. On top of that, it now gives us
the gift of giving. Even though we may not be aware of it, we can turn around and make a difference in
other people’s lives by re-gifting an orb which we have received.
Although acts of love or compassion (i.e. ways we transfer orbs) are conscious acts, giving or receivingorbs are not. We can’t say, “I am going to get some orbs next week” or “today I am going to distribute
orbs”. Trust that you are in the right time and place; whether you stay somewhere for minutes or with
someone for days, when it needs to happen, it will. So when you are compelled to go somewhere or feel
attracted to a certain person without knowing why, remember that so much is felt which cannot be seen or
understood. Follow your gut and be surprised!

Where orbs are energetic elements of spiritual aspects, healing keys are energetic elements of physical
aspects. A healing key is an energetic code which causes healing in a person. Healing keys and orbs
function similarly, they get accumulated, transferred or acquired in the same way. They even look the
same. Nature can heal us (see environmental energy), however, we can also receive healing from people.
It has long been known that certain people can make others feel better. Although we can’t see what they
do or how they do it, we can feel our bodies getting better.
We can also acquire healing keys while staying in certain areas which possess healing energies. Such
areas are usually sacred or pilgrimage places. They can also be a vortex, fault line or volcanic area. They
are usually beautiful places which feel very peaceful upon entering. The healing key(s) transfer time
depends on how many the key(s) a person needs and can take from 15 minutes to 3 days. Stillness and
contemplation on the part of the recipient will help expedite the transfer of the healing key(s).
When we are ready for a healing key, it will be made available. We can only acquire it from someone
who has experienced our imbalance or dis-ease, mastered it, and physically integrated the learning
experience into his or her own body. This does not mean that person has to have been sick from and
subsequently mastered the same dis-ease, just a particular part of the dis-ease, for example a specific way
to combat an infection. Which healing key we receive will depend on where we are in our emotional and
physical learning process. If we have learnt the emotional component of the imbalance, we can let go of
its manifestation i.e. the physical ailment.
Once a healing key or keys get absorbed, the body needs about 3 weeks to integrate them fully. Changes
in body and soul are mostly gradual. Sometimes we even forget we have made progress until someone
asks us how a part of our body is feeling. Healing keys automatically get passed along when there is a
healing need. However, unless we are a person with special healing capacities like a healer, we do not
have the ability to store healing keys in our body. We only have those which we need, not those we might
need in the future.
There are a few hundred healing keys in the world today, very similar to the number of orbs. They hide in
many people, in different cultures, and continents. The reason we feel guided to particular people or

places is because we intuitively (although often not consciously) know that there is a healing opportunity
for us there.
Did you know?
There are about 70 healing keys in this book .
By reading, understanding, and integrating what is important to you, the relevant keys can be absorbed by
you. You might not need some keys because they are things you already know or a problem or dis-ease
you do not have. When thoroughly reading this book the first time, most people will receive and absorb
about 3 keys. More can be acquired when it is re-read some weeks, months or even years later. The
discovery of new keys will appear when the reader is ready. Most dis-eases only need one key to affect
the healing. Some dis-eases however, require more healing and may need up to 3 keys.

As things grow, evolve or die off, their energy gets absorbed into their surroundings. Some things are just
leftovers from what once was: the browning stem of a flower, a dead tree losing its branches, a fragment
of a person who passed (commonly called a ghost). We usually are not aware of these fragments in the
Universe unless they are very pronounced and the injury to man or nature was prominent.
Just think about how some places give you goosebumps and then later on you learn something negative
happened there, like a battle fought eons ago. Just as we can pass on healing energy to others, we can also
pass on emotions such as fear or other negative emotions we have failed to resolve. This transfer willresult in symptoms of emotional distress, such as anger or fear, in the bodies and energetic fields even of
the next generation. These people might not have lived during a particular war but they could have a
phobia about the enemy in that specific war.
Places with extensive trauma will keep some of that energy for years or even decades. Think of
Auschwitz, WWI, and WWII battle fields, Vietnam Memorials or the 9/11 site. Erecting memorial sites
helps survivors cope with their loss but also assists the entities and fragments of energy left behind to
disintegrate. It is also the love and respect in the hearts of the survivors and visitors which will ‘heal’ the
area over time.
When someone dies at peace without any emotional distress, they go into the light. Their energy changesdramatically as they merge with the light completely and their soul goes back to its origin. The emotional
scars left behind are absolved in order to release the entity completely. When people die, their body
ceases to function immediately but their energy leaves their physical body over the course of 3 days. The
energy of the body’s outer shell, the ‘egg-shaped balloon’, takes about 4 weeks to dissolve.
When a person isn’t properly let go when dying, some of their energy will linger. They become parasites
to those left behind or around them: resulting in a loss of energy and an amplification of negative

emotions in those left behind. The energy particles are a hologram of the energy of the deceased; this
energy can be perceived or even seen. At that point, they are commonly called “ghosts” or entities and
they represent about 15 to 35% of the energy of the deceased.
Some priests and healers have the ability to assist these ghosts to go to the light, especially when darker
energies are concerned, as is the case with suicides or violent and sudden deaths. This way the deceasedgets absolved of their emotional scars and can find a way to move on. They are thanked for their life and
told they are loved for who they are. Basically we “love them to death”! By loving them, we transmute
their energy and let them go. By “sending them to the light”, their heavier energy is made lighter until it
is no more. The majority of entities that interfere with people are those of the dead.
Some of the energy might also have remained behind if the deceased had no-one to mourn them. Most
nursing home or hospital staff has an innate ability to move this energy and has learned how to deal with
it. They know to leave the room unoccupied for a day, open the windows, and refresh the energy of the
room. They immediately shower after work and find ways to clear energies which still might be around
their person. It is a common misconception that when the body is gone, that person is completely gone
but people who frequently deal with death, know better.
Interestingly, very little of the deceased’s energy stays behind at the place of death or the place of burial
or cremation. The energy goes where the body was ‘home’ when it was alive. It does not stay with the
physical remains of the body. Once the Soul goes back to the Source (at the time of death), the thousands
of energetic particles of the body get reintegrated in the ‘All’, in all that is around, nature, people and the
environment. As the saying goes, ‘ashes to ashes’.

These days, finding peace or purpose isn’t easy. Even though this is the reason we are here to begin with,
much of the time we are running around like headless chickens. We are so wound up that all we can do is
collapse at the end of the day, hoping that tomorrow might bring solace. How many of us crash on our
couch after a day of work and watch mindless TV? For too many of us, the ‘unwinding’ in our lives
consists of passing out cold after a long night of partying, playing senseless games on the Xbox and
watching violent or vacuous movies.
Meanwhile, that nagging feeling of not really wanting to do what we are doing all day long, the sense of
not belonging, or the question “is this all there is?” still linger. We realize at the end of the day, that yet
another day has passed with little or nothing to reflect on or be happy about. It is just too easy to lose
focus and get stuck in the rat race in our professional and personal lives.
Plans used to be laid out in advance without consideration of how one felt on the day of the planned
event. Although social media can become yet another distraction in our life, it does connect us with others
in real time. It gives us new ideas and connections. This keeps us more in the present. Where our mind
goes, our energy flows. If our body starts going into physical distress, it’s vital to release stress from our
hectic lives. It’s no coincidence that yoga studios are sprouting up everywhere. They are a beautifulantidote to our busyness.
Everything that shows up in our lives has some type of purpose. We might not really understand it but
happenings have a reason regardless of how small or insignificant they might seem. We see it better when
we create stillness and make time for reflection. When a job is a dead-end for us, it might just fall away
and push us to look for something that suits us better. When someone yells at us, maybe we better start
paying attention. When we see a butterfly, maybe it will allow us to stand still for a moment and
appreciate the beauty in life a bit more.
Flowers thrive under the sun and the rain. When the hail and fierce sun come, the flowers may wilt a bit
but they retain their beauty. They still look colorful and smell great. Granted their leaves may be torn or
petals missing but when looking at the garden as a whole, one can barely see it. Each flower has a specific
place in the whole; cutting one bush down leaves a gap in the whole and is noticeable. The flowers
compliment each other’s beauty; and in a way want the other ones to thrive as together they make up this
beautiful flower garden. The sum of them is greater than the individual parts.
The life of a flower seems simple and uncomplicated and yet, we are very similar to them. We need to be
in touch with the nutrition which Mother Earth gives us. We require the natural elements to survive and

we sure need the nourishment and company of others. As an individual Soul we belong to the whole
garden or to the Universe. When we find our purpose, we acquire a sense of belongingness. Just like the
flowers; their nutrition and belonging disappears when they are separated. They are absolutely beautiful
in a vase but that beauty is fleeting.

I once attended a Balinese cremation ceremony of a local queen. It was so beautiful; a spectacular all-day
event with music, food, and lots of happy faces. Everyone was dressed in their most beautiful traditional
dress and all were extremely comfortable with the person being ‘celebrated’. They all wanted to touch
her, brought her presents, and thanked her for her life. They understood that they were all connected, even
in death.
We are all interconnected. We are removed a maximum of 6 degrees of separation8 from each other. We
are all linked by chains of acquaintance; we are just 5 intermediaries away from any person on the planet.
In other words, we are linked, by a string of five or fewer acquaintances, to Madonna, the Dalai Lama and
the President. We all belong together to this world; just like the flowers in the garden. If we start
demolishing part of the garden it makes us looks bad. When we send toxins into the air or into the water,
we ultimately pollute our own environment and that of our children.
Once we understand the interconnectedness of everything, it becomes apparent how our actions speak
much louder than our words. We all have our particular task in this life, our own contribution, our
responsibility. The beauty of flowers in a vase is short lived but the beauty of a garden exists forever.
Remember that it is not any one flower that makes the garden; it is the many which determine the whole.
And as we humans are part of that whole, we benefit from being in selfless service to the whole. After all, this is one of the ways to help ourselves and the ones we love.
Due to our interconnectedness - what I do to others is as if I do to myself - doing good benefits us all and
increases our happiness and well-being on this earth. Our enemy might become tamer, we might prevent
suffering or our child might pass something we taught him to his own child changing his future forever. If
we do something good for someone, we should not expect it to come back to us at all. It is only by giving
unselfishly that we receive.
When people do good for others it is contagious! Whatever we do to others, it does feel as if we do it to
ourselves. This way the benefit of doing good comes back right away! Try it and see how that makes you
smile from within. Just do something, no matter how small, and focus on it today.

Most people can find a peaceful place in their environment and allow themselves to just sit there for a
little while, without any interruption. Others get into a relaxed state while walking their dog or playing
with their cat. Some have a more structured approach and participate in a weekly service, meditation oryoga group. All of it constitutes a way to commune with the Universe and replenish. By doing this, we
also heal our body by removing some of the old and stagnant energies, and redistributing the existing
energy by injecting a new flux of energy to revive and replenish the body.
Just like a shower takes the old dirt away, it also hydrates the skin and massages certain areas giving us a
refreshed feeling all over. It also allows us to check in with our body and see what is going on. In the
same vein, our quiet moments allow us to check in and determine: what is important, what are we
thankful for, what is causing upset, what is making us happy and so on.
It is easy to start with small things. Remember: life is in the details. In order to deal with what life gives
us, we benefit from squeezing in some processing time on a daily basis. We can leave a bit earlier forwork and take in the route while driving; taking some extra time to be appreciative helps us to actually
live life. We might observe how the leaves are changing, which flowers are in bloom, how the sunlight
reflects off certain objects. We can find enjoyment even though a job has to be done and a family has to
be taken care of. These still moments allow us to find peace and quiet amidst the busyness of our day;
they become patches of oasis scattered throughout our day.
Just going for a daily walk can seem the hardest thing to schedule into our hectic lives. But is this the life
we want to lead? Let’s not forget that we are the ones who decided to live this life. It is during the
moments where we regret not having done certain things, that we often come up with changes. Maybe we
can find more peace and ourselves in the process? Sickness gives us a temporary hiatus from our busy
lives to take stock. Even though it may not feel like it at the time, we are lucky that sometimes our bodies just say no and temporarily quit on us. Our illnesses are giving us a sign that we need to change
something in our lives. We just need to listen.
With the entrance of fast food and fast lives, most of us are constantly wound up by the events of the day
without having a place to process them. Families used to sit together at meal times and take that time to
talk about their day and lives. Although heated discussions might have ensued, family members got to
know each other better and were there for one another. With this family time came a deeper insight into
life with all its intricacies.
Finding peace in our lives might feel similar to finding peace at an airport! Life is whizzing by, changing
moment by moment, the stress and noise make it hard to think or stay calm. However, if we succeed evenfor 15 minutes a day, the results are more than worth it. All we need is a good dose of determination and
compassion and we get to lead our life in the driver’s seat. Through the stillness, we can find a little piece
of heaven, within ourselves.
At the end of the day we show what we carry inside of us. We become our emotions and show them for
the whole world to see. Just look at yourself in the mirror when your face is relaxed: does your mouth
portray a happy person or a sour puss? Do you look drawn and worried? We can see it very easily in older

people whose faces have become a living image of their life. They continuously look happy, sad or
apathetic. So enjoy the small things and little by little you’ll etch a smile on your face.

Once we start enjoying the little things in life again, we can take it one step further. We start managing
some ‘me’ time me’ in the same way we manage our job or family. We can do this by setting aside some
time to be still – take a time out: no reading, no phone or gadgets and no one around.
This will facilitate the process to seeing the bigger picture of our life; as if you were sitting on a mountain
top and saw a small village far in the valley. In that village, we are running from one place to another. The
only thing we can see is the hurriedness of our life, not the actual purpose of why we are running or to
whom or what we are running. What does this mean to us? Is this what we want? Can we change it and if
so, how?
In moments of non-action, we allow ourselves to let feelings and thoughts rush over us. We must be
careful to stay conscious and not to throw sand over upsetting events because we don’t want to deal with
them. We must process what is going on and take action or make decisions according to our own self, the
‘me’ in us. Tasks and actions seem to accumulate at an alarming rate leaving us little time to reflect on or
enjoy our life.
We need to allow life to slow down. We need that tranquility as much as we need water and food. So this
is how we start: We take time to sit in a tranquil place or take a walk. We play some soft background
music. We just quiet down: have nothing to do, nowhere to go, nothing to think about. We just dwell in
the here and now. In this stillness, we can come face to face with our thoughts and feelings but we do not
hang onto them. We just tell those thoughts that we will deal with them later! We just relax, breathe, sit
and enjoy.
It is not so hard to be quiet for a while now, is it? Notice how our body seems to relax and some tension
leaves. When we steal these ‘still’ moments in our day, little by little we put the ‘what about me’ back in
our daily decisions. It also helps us stay more composed when issues arise. And when we are more
composed and happy, our environment mirrors this.
Granted, it is easier to disappear into the mountains where everything is already peaceful to begin with.
The complexity enters when we want to bring these quiet moments into our everyday life. Then is when
we need to be deliberate and carve out ‘still’ time for ourselves. We need to be present to live our life. It
is only then we can sit in the driver’s seat of our life; and with that comes contentment and happiness.

Start by doing what's necessary;
then do what's possible;
and suddenly you are doing the impossible.~ Francis of Assisi, 1182-1226

All of us have our own reality; we have our own way of incorporating our environment and living in it.
We determine what is real in our world. Through the eyes of the observer, every reality becomes unique.
What we see, feel, perceive or even believe becomes our reality. This also allows us to take our awareness
to a new level and create a new reality for ourself. We are the observer and live through our own
experiences only.
When seeing a blooming Japanese cherry tree: do you see bright pink or soft pink? Soft pink with a hint
of white? Soft pink with a hint of white, which is soothing? Soft pink with a hint of white, which is
soothing and grounds us in the moment? How about standing there and incorporating the pink to such an
extent, it’s as if you were drinking it from a glass? Can you see how perspective changes your reality? Do
you think that the person next to you experiences the same thing?
The colorfulness of our reality will all depend on how much we step into our life and what we intend to
make out of it. How far do we want to go in sensing and loving what is around us? What do we want to
experience and to what intensity? All the cherry blossom tree does is stand there, we are the ones who
make it part of our reality and our enjoyment. Life has plenty of things to gain pleasure from - these areall props on our stage of life.
We decide what our scenery or life looks like. We are the ones who decide what we focus our energy on
and then manifest accordingly. The concept of ‘manifestation’ has been overused. Life is much simpler.
All we have to do is look at the tree. The tree was there all along. We did not really have to manifest it. It
just wasn’t in our scope of vision as we weren’t paying attention. When we figure out what we want, we
don’t create the tree, but we see the tree that was already there. So we don’t just look at a rainbow, we
create it by having the ability and the desire to see it.
The eye goes where it is told to go, to what it is conscious of. When we start seeing things with ‘other
eyes’, we can look at the same situation and other perspectives or solutions are revealed to us. Forexample, the ear of our coffee mug sits on the opposite side as we look at it from the other angle. It is still
the same mug but it looks different! Such is Life. We can live years with something or someone and
never see particular aspects.
The ‘seeing’ of behaviors, things and people happens when we are ready to pay attention to them and
perceive them as they are. Our emotional, mental and physical awareness meet and, all of a sudden, a

- 69 -
particular thing or issue comes into focus. We integrate the knowledge of that ‘seeing’ within us. This
way we know and see ourselves for who we truly are. This awareness leaves an imprint on what we see.
The Universe gives us what we need as we are the ones manifesting our reality . For the same reason,
your understanding of this will be different when you read this book now and when you re-read this book
a year from now! When we suspend our beliefs and adopt childlike innocence, we can expand our reality. What we believe becomes our reality. So when we change our beliefs, different levels of consciousness
open up to us. How do we know what is on the first floor of a house if we’ve never been there or used the
stairs?
We attract into our life what we are. We create our own reality, and can manifest our deepest wishes and
desires. What’s important is that we know who we are and that our lives reflect our core elements and
beliefs. Our reality shifts all the time as we learn and open the doors of our consciousness. What we want
does not matter to the Universe. It matters who we are. It matters if we are kind and gentle. It matters that
we have reverence for all. This way our environment will also reflect that to us!

It can be an eye opener to hear about the ‘bad’ luck people have. I once met a young lady complaining
about her life. She had been in a minor car accident during her long 1.5 hour commute to work, her
boyfriend had left her for another woman, and her apartment lease expired with no option of renewal. She
had no way to get to the work she did not like, no place to live and felt very alone. When I asked her what
she would do if she had nothing, she spontaneously and with a big smile said that all she really wanted
was to move back to her hometown. So what was she waiting for? She had finally found herself in the
perfect set of events where she was free of encumbrances and could move. However, she couldn’trecognize what was right in front of her nose.
It is one thing to want ‘a better life’, and another thing to recognize that going back home is exactly that.
You do have to be very specific if you want something so you can find it in your reality. Remember the
cherry tree: it was always sitting there and just needed you to take a closer look at it. However, we cannot
expect for everything to show up exactly as we wished as it might not be in our best interest to start with.
It is much easier to ask for what we want in broad terms and leave the details for Life to sort out. We do
not have to be master planners. The Universe is too complicated and is changing continuously. We need
to combine determination with flexibility. The most appropriate solutions will be provided for us. So
know what you want but do so with a good dose of flexibility and a keen eye to recognize when what you
need and want shows up at your front door steps.
A wise woman used to tell me while I was growing up: “my child, if you want to get ahead, look at the
people above you and learn from their example; if you want to be happy, look at those below you who
have less and be appreciative of what you have”. Gratitude is a perspective which allows us to be happy
with what we have instead of focusing on scarcity, on the things our life does not encompass. Gratitude is
learnt and gets better with practice!

Once we come to an understanding of the abundance in our environment, gratitude is a natural result. Not
gratitude from a negative fear-based perspective such as ‘I am grateful I have a spouse because I don’t
like to be alone’, but ‘I am thankful for having a wonderful partner in my life, who brings out the joy in
me.’ Gratitude has different levels. We can start to see things differently; just like with the cherry blossom
tree, we feel the intensity of the color and are happy to be there in that moment witnessing the beauty of
Nature. All we need is to take a moment to stand still and appreciate.
We create a resonance with it and fine tune our own vibration. The beauty of having a vibration or
frequency is that it is easy to feel good with people who are similar to us. Gratitude helps us get in sync
with our environment. We experience more when we’re in an environment which is similar to our
vibration as it’s easier to perceive and integrate what is right in front of us. When we are talking to
someone who understands exactly what we’re saying, we seem to get further in our own thoughts. Our
thinking is enhanced when talking with people we resonate with. We resonate with them and our own
vibration comes back stronger.
To understand this better, look at how tuning forks work. If you hit the tuning fork of the note LA, which
is 440 Hz, then the tuning forks with dissimilar notes stay quiet. However, when another LA tuning forkis nearby, it will start emitting the sound of LA. It basically answers ‘I am LA too’, which then in turn
gets answered again by the original tuning fork: ‘ I am LA’. Another way of looking at this resonance is
‘birds of a feather flock together’. We are very much the same. We resonate with others and have others
answer what we are saying. We talk ‘vibration’.
Did you know?
Within the traditional Jewish religion we find the use of resonance within HEVRUTA, Jewish study
partners, who together explore and debate the scriptures. Hevruta comes from the Hebrew word
haver, meaning friend. It is a traditional, age-old form of Jewish study. It possesses two main
characteristics: 1. It is text based. You’re studying a text. 2. You do it with a study partner.
Traditionally, in Hevruta study, one person reads the first part of the text, and the other comments on it,
perhaps summarizes it, and asks questions. Next, the two study partners discuss it. Then, they change
places, and the other person reads the next part of the text.
In the 1960’s, and 1970’s, there was a resurgence of Hevruta study in many places, including Jewish
institutions which had not been using it previously. Today, the idea is that people of different
backgrounds can learn from one another. We all have something to contribute.
Hevruta is not about competing or proving a point. It’s about two people sparking one another to learn.http://www.tifereth-israel.org/drash-hevruta-one-approach-jewish-learning

We are who we are; just like a dog barks or a cat meows. The sooner we accept ourselves, the sooner we
will recognize the nourishing environments which suit us. Once we have determined we are a cat, we just
know we benefit from staying away from dog territories. When we are a cat, our environment will nothave dog bones no matter how much we wish for them. In other words: we need to be alignment with our
Soul, our essence, in order to manifest who we are. We receive what we are rather than what we want.
As the adage goes, ‘It’s not how we fall, it’s how we land.’ The way we approach life and how we deal
with our lot, is what colors our energy. It is not the challenges that define us but how we react to them.
The loss of a loved one may increase our vibration as we experience the gift of that person with love and
compassion. However, it can also lower our vibration if we get stuck in the loss and fail to see the gift that
person shared with us. The feeling of victimization will cause a downward spiral which will slowly erode
our vibration.
There are no coincidences and there is a reason for all our experiences. Subconsciously, we sometimeschoose the opposite of who we are to glean a more intense experience. Learning through our mistakes is
the hardest but most powerful lesson of all. Having a boss or a teacher who acts in an unethical way can
show us very quickly how that feels. So when we are faced with similar choices later on, we may be more
likely to choose the ethical solution, having experienced the consequences of unethical behavior.
However, as discussed earlier, we also need to let others lead their lives the way they have chosen to. We
do not have to agree, but we can't judge either. We need to accept them for what they are; what they are
choosing to do in their life. We should give each other the freedom to act as we also have that freedom.
We lead different lives and we are here to learn different lessons. Our world is colored according to our
own reality, not that of others. The moment we learn from a situation and let our judgment go, we have
cleared ‘space’ and new opportunities will arise. The lesson has to be learnt first, if not, our path isblocked. We are the obstruction to our own progress.
As our body or field emits an overall frequency or vibration; we intuitively, in an animalistic way, attract
or deter others. It is just another facet of the Law of Attraction. Like magnets we will attract certain
people to us: the ones which magnify our existence in some way or who have something to teach us.
Others we will repel or deter: we will actively avoid their company. Things just happen naturally and very
little thought or deliberate action is required. It may cause us some temporary discomfort but as during
any period of growth, we need to be compassionate towards ourselves. We do not always have to be
focused on the next thing, we can take it slowly.
So take time to marinate in the progress you have made! Our vibration usually changes after somethingspecific has been learnt and fully integrated into our personal psyche. Similar energies to ours pull us
forward and can kick start growth in our vibration, in other words, increase our vibrational level. By
immersing ourselves in nourishing surroundings, our vibration gets ‘cleaned’ and shines. Groups of
people who gather together typically have similar vibrations. This happens when we work in a job or with
colleagues where we feel challenged and valued; or when we have a friend or partner who makes us feel
at home.

When we are in a nourishing and stimulating environment, our horizon expands. Life is full of surprises;
events will make us change direction and we have to adjust our course. That’s how our life develops over
the years and gets adjusted according to our experiences. It is a lifelong process. As we evolve and learn,
so does our focus. More and more we become the person we are and we live in the environment which
reflects and nourishes us.

We are pure light, with a body mass which anchors us and gives us substance. After all, we are that lamp
which is using the electrical energy of the Universe. This is also why we are called ‘light beings’ because
we emit light: we are a light source. The slightest change in our experience changes part or all of our
color. Sometimes the purple becomes a deeper purple as the blue and red elements become stronger.
When we experience life, our light or colors change.
The basis of many of the laws discussed in this book has to do with cause and effect. We are all part of a
giant web, nothing happens in a vacuum. A small change in one place can result in a large impactsomewhere else. The sensitive interconnectedness among people, living creatures and our environment
are becoming more apparent. This is also called the Butterfly Effect, a term coined by Edward Lorenz.
The name of the effect came from the theory of a hurricane's formation being contingent on whether or
not a distant butterfly had flapped its wings several weeks earlier.
The colors which sit in and around our body can change at a moment’s notice and are only a temporary
view of a person’s emotional and physical state. The Rainbow Warriors, a Native American tribe, knew
humans emanated colors long before Kirlian photography proved its existence (see below in Did you
know?). Just like the breaking of light through a prism, we transform into a multitude of colored beams.
The colors change when we go through different emotions.
Being in love will make our color turn pink, while being a ‘deep’ thinker will turn it dark blue. We can
think of ourselves as walking rainbows! They are there sitting in our ‘balloon or bubble’. Although most
of us can’t visually see these colors, we do possess the ability to perceive them. Energetically we can’t
hide when we like or dislike someone as it shows or ‘feels’ in our colors! Also, note the synchronicity
with which all happens: because we show our colors, the other person might be responding by mirroring
us. He or she is now reflecting us.

Our light changes throughout our life’s journey. We influence others with our actions and therefore help
them to do the same. In some way, this influences the colors of humanity which are also changing and
becoming brighter. We start with ourselves and thanks to our interconnectedness we better the whole. The
brighter our rainbow colors are, the brighter our environment’s rainbow becomes.
The last years the intensity of our light has increased tremendously and the light of humanity as a wholehas become much brighter, much stronger. This increased intensity has brought major and marginal
situations to the surface which we needed to clean out. Sometimes it looks like things are getting worse,
but by bringing injustices to ‘light’, we are dealing with them and hope to move them out indefinitely. All
we can do is to let our light shine and have that enlighten whatever we touch. Very soon, the many other
‘lights’ we attract on our path, will guide the way to a more compassionate and loving living for all.

capture the phenomenon of electrical coronal discharges. It is named after
Semyon Kirlian, who, in 1939 accidentally discovered that if an object on a
photographic plate is connected to a high-voltage source, an image is
produced on the photographic plate.

Life isn't happening to you; life is responding to you.
~ Rhonda Byrne, author of The Secret

Life has its cycles. There are times when we are learning lessons and times when we take it easy. When
we are in an acute learning phase, we usually are in an environment that gives us clues. We are sent
messages in different ways: we might encounter people who fit a specific purpose; we might learn
something from visiting a place or from a new activity.
So we must take the time to listen and be alone to focus on what is going on in our life. It sounds crazy
but water is one of those aids which help us focus on the present. This is why we get great ideas in the
shower or in the bath! We are immersed in the now and connected to the earth through the water. The
body is grounded and the water is relaxing and helps clarify or ground our thoughts. Just like our outlets
in the house need grounding, so do we. After all, we are energy, we are electrical beings. We need to
upload (get fresh energy) or download (get rid of excess or negative energy) regularly to regulate our own
flow.
After all, we might as well take time to think and reflect, as we are the ones who create the major
components of our life. It is as if we are standing on a stage and all the stage props are available for us to
use. The type of play is up to us. We can make it a lighthearted opera which gives the audience time to
absorb the emotional side of the story. We can make it a tragedy centered on the death of a loved one. We
can also make it a show full of chaos with lots of people jumping around the place or with lots of
interaction with the audience. Or we can take time off and enjoy the rewards of our learning while
remaining in sync with what life offers us.
When staging our life, we can decide not to use the props and have a stark background. We can embark
on a monologue stressing the loneliness in our life: we can decide to shut out what is given to us, wallow
in the fact that nothing is there to help us along and resolve to go it alone. We are our own Master to learn
and experience what our life is all about, or not. Of course, when we do choose a dire play, it might not be
very popular and the audience might leave early. It is a personal choice.
No-one is forcing us one way or the other. We are the ones who make our choices and create our reality.
We create who we are. When my kids were small they had a friend who was in sports activities with
them. Every time this boy’s mother would come and sit in the bleachers, she would introduce herself to
the newcomers and say: “Hi, I am Susan. I am a widow.” She wore her status of a widow as a badge of
honor. She insisted on making a “tragedy” out of her life.
The stage of life is all ours. We make choices according to our beliefs and what resonates with us. Our
surroundings are merely a reflection of what’s on the inside. They just reflect us. Only we possess the
blue print of who we truly are - not our parents, not our teachers. It is up to us to consciously and

deliberately choose our theme, the actors and the many props. We are responsible for creating our reality
every day and in every way. We are the co-creator of our life!
My Personal Actions
This exercise is my favorite and was very eye-opening to me. I always lived such a dramatic life. I have
now decided to put on a comedy full of gaiety, love and laughter.
If you were to put your life today into a play, musical, opera etc., what kind of play would it be? Is that
what you like to see? If not, write what would you like it to be and how can you change things around.

We are not alone on this stage of life. We are all interconnected; the lives of others intersect with ours. By
dying, a loved one still remains in our ‘play’ but assumes a different role and may temporarily change our
play from a comedy to a tragedy. We decide the intensity with which we want to live life . If we perceive
our loved one’s death as the destroyer of our life, then we will suffer tremendously. If we choose to now
live for two as if the deceased were still here, then our ‘play’ will take on a happier story.
Pivotal moments such as those force us to take a deeper look at this ‘play’ we are starring in. Those are
times when we sit and contemplate the why’s and the ‘now what’ of this life. This seems to happen at key
milestones in our lives: when we become parents, when our kids start school, when someone close to us
gets married, when we have a death in the family and so on. These events push us to reevaluate our life
and its purpose.
The present is the only place where we can adjust our thinking and actions. When we stay in the present,
it is like putting the brakes on the runaway speed of our life. Many of us have lost our footing and instead
of being present in the now, we make things go even faster. Our lives are stressful and days seem to roll
uncontrollably into weeks, merging into months. We are becoming more and more disoriented and lack
focus. The first time something happens we may use a band-aid or aspirin, the second time the message
will come back more refined and aggravated. The body sends signals to us in different crescendos.
We might be wealthy but we are not leading a life which makes us happy. We are the ones who decide the
intricacies of our play. When we get to the point of unhappiness or even disease, it is time to regroup and
to integrate what we have learnt and experienced. If we let others determine what we need, we will soonfind that we do not identify with our life, somehow it isn’t us. Gradually, we have become someone we
are not and do not belong on the stage we have created. Then it is high time to re-write our story the way
we want it.
When we decide to regroup or become healthy again, we need to first make the change consciously. We
need to figure out how our stage would like and then we go out and experience that in real life. In the
beginning we might need to fake it until we make it but slowly new habits and joys will creep in. It is

commonly known that a serious illness such as cancer makes people think and reorganize their life for the
better. As a bonus of life’s shake-up comes physical, emotional and spiritual healing.
It is hard to physically eradicate disease without a proper ‘body-mind-spirit’ re-evaluation. No matter
what the physical symptoms, headaches, problems with the pancreas, hormonal system or cancer, all
symptoms have reasons to manifest. When we get sick, we will need to address the original issue at handin order for the disease to disappear and not reappear somewhere else. At this point it is necessary to re-
evaluate our stage and its many props and see what exactly it is which needs to go for us to regain our
balance. We create what we are and if that is something which does not suit us, it is time to stop creating
it!

Let the Universe surprise you. By taking time out of our busy lives, we begin to realize what makes us tickand even how our own attitude colors our life. We might not get what we think we need, but we always
get what we need. When we are ready to make our life more colorful, we typically make changes that are
in a familiar territory to us. We go and do things that used to make us tick, we listen to ‘oldies’, we look
for excitement.
Sometimes we glean better insight into who we now are from a place of who we were. We work our way
back and compare it to the place we are today and see some fragments of our life more clearly: I like to
enjoy life like a kid, I’m not really happy with my partner, I want to belong to a community, I love
spending time with my friends.
I once had my wallet stolen in Paris. I found it to be a very trying time, but somehow, I knew it had tohave happened for a reason. Only months later did I understand that I was creating a whole new life for
myself, a whole new identity. I needed to leave the old behind and start anew. Within days, an unmarked
envelope from France arrived containing only my driver’s license and my Green Card.
When things are happening in your life that you don’t like, stand back and evaluate why they are
happening in the first place. To use the example of a friend who dies: are we going to live with more zest
or are we going to let this fuel the pessimistic streak in us? Look at the deeper meaning of events in your
life and learn from them. We are multifaceted, complicated, and unique - imitation does not suit us.
Mimicking others does not answer the question of who we are or want to be.
In the same way, the scars left behind become a record of the life we have led. We wear our sorrows and
when we hide something, it rarely heals properly. It festers just like a wound. It needs cleaning out and
proper treatment, it requires air to heal. In the same way, when we have a hard time digesting issues,
hiding or ignoring them will only make things worse. No matter how hard it might be, we benefit from
facing our demons with compassion and ardor. That is the only way we will find peace, peace in our
heart.

THE ABCs OF ENERGY
- 77 -
We all know the stories but have we realized our part in creating them? Do you already see some aspects
of your ‘play’ emerging? We are director and co-creator of it all. Our story is under our direction. No-one
can really tell us what to do. It has to come from within, an urge to be us. We are also the audience. So we
are the one calling the shots all around.
This is our life and no-one else’s. When we focus on being miserable, which is what we actively create, that is what Life hands us. The Universe is impervious to what is good and bad, without discrimination it
follows the focus of our attention and energy. For example: our car breaks down in the middle of
nowhere, our investments plummet, our wallet gets stolen, our partner breaks off the relationship, we get
sick. We create what we are whatever that is, good or bad.
It is best not to trivialize anything: there is so much synchronicity. Signs or messages reflect what is
currently going on in our lives. They come in all shapes and sizes. They will escalate from a whisper to a
shout until we take action. It all depends on what we perceive and to what degree. We do have to do the
work: we need to go to the theatre and decide what kind of play we want to participate in. We must select
the props, the actors, who reflect who we are and want to be. Remember that the Universe gives us what
we focus on, as long as we are grateful for what we have already received.
We are co-creators: compassionate toward ourselves and powerful beyond our imagination. Even a wasp
sting might get us into the doctor’s office where we meet our future spouse. Every act, no matter how
small, makes a difference. A simple letter sent to a soldier at war might do more than making cookies for
a whole battalion. In the "parable of the talents9" it is said that whether our talent is epic or miniscule, it
can give our life passion and dedication. It is what we use our talent for that counts.
A. &+. aW$#P".= 6,Z6+.&0,+7
We are not just a student of life, but of ourselves! Our life is an eternal discovery about who we are and,
ultimately, the unique imprint we leave on our surroundings. When our Soul, body, mind and heart
merge, joy is ours. “Just as treasures are uncovered from the earth, so virtue appears from good deeds, and
wisdom appears from a pure and peaceful mind. To walk safely through the maze of human life, one
needs the light of wisdom and the guidance of virtue”10.
As we get to know the ‘deeper’ side of us, our actions become more refined as we evolve. We go from
ignoring the beggar, to seeing the beggar, to helping the beggar, to feeling compassion for the beggar.
Every decision carves out a little more of our direction and our unique road. It defines our unique co-
creation. Once we experience something fully, it stays with us forever. Once we ‘know’ compassion, wecan be compassionate towards anything and everything. All we have to do is live it.
We are unique co-creators; responsible for our life and our share of happiness and joy. We are a pure
reflection of ourselves and a unique combination of heart, body, mind, and soul. When we realize who we
are and are conscious of our creative power, we can influence our surroundings to such a large extent. By

just being awake more than half of the time, we can print an indelible mark on our reality and that of
others.
Just a walk in the park might be different; an experience which would leave us more refreshed than
hurrying to get some exercise in while on the phone or having our iPod’s music overpower nature’s
sounds. We would see the grass under our feet more clearly, we would notice a bird’s song or we wouldsee how the sun plays on the leaves of the trees. We would be fully present and aware. We would see an
old couple on a bench or a dog sniffing to his heart’s content. In the perception and experience of it, we
would mirror ourselves and our life. Just to be part of it all, would make us happy.
The main thing is to realize that when our mind is somewhere else, we miss so much. Kids seem to have
an innate ability to see things that we adults barely take notice of. When I asked my son how he thought
his first game of baseball went, he said: “Great Mom, I saw the most beautiful bird sitting on the field!”
Obviously my son is not a baseball fanatic and an animal lover, so for him the game meant something
completely different. He ‘mirrored’ that bird and in so doing, manifested his own uniqueness.
Have you ever noticed the sensation when you are with someone and you feel like you are the only one
who exists for that person in that moment? Did it not feel great? This is what we can be for others and
ourselves. We define who we are by what we do and how we do it. If we stay within our unique self, we
will manifest much more than a high scoring game. We create that bird at a baseball game because it
reflects us. As the Universe thrives on abundance, it sends us an animal to bring us joy.
Our outside reflects our unique inside. So why not fill up our live full of love for ourselves and others?
It’s up to us to keep creating who we are. It is up to us to decide who we are, in doing so lies our purpose
and happiness. After all, if you are who you want to be and you reflect that in your surroundings, how
much closer to your Soul can you get? This is what’s called ‘Heaven on Earth’. It is when the veil
between Heaven and Earth is so thin that you are living in both! That is what real living is all about.
So when people ask you what you are doing in this life, you can just smile and say:
I am living life to the fullest.
I won’t need a bucket list when I am at the end.
I am living life now.
I create My Life with Passion.

1. The Body’s Energy
• Every human has a unique frequency.
• We don’t just resonate with each other but also with our environment.
• We have to live our life by taking action and by using all of our senses. We are sensory beings.
• All of our actions, or non-actions, have consequences. Every road chosen leaves another one
behind.
2. A Plentiful Life
• Our mind and emotions are so powerful and they allow the law of abundance to come to life!
• All we need is more awareness and appreciation and our life will wonderfully intensify over time.
• The Universe always gives back more than we give; so the more we give, the more we get!
• Start learning to accept the gifts you are given wholeheartedly. They might not be exactly what
you want but might be what you need.
• Make especially sure that whatever you promise to give, you follow through on.
• When we lack abundance in our lives, let’s not ask the Universe to send us all the things we think
we need but instead start giving proactively and restore the flow of abundance.
3. We are Powerful
• You are co-writing your own life.
• We are the co-creator of our life.
• You create what you are, so if you do not like what you see, change yourself and your scenery
will change.
• It does not pay to let someone else make decisions for you, as those decisions do not carry yourpower.
• The best things in life require little struggle or effort.
• Once we come to realize that we are spinning in the room and not that the room is spinning, we
can find our way to stillness and answers.
4. Spiritual Energy
• The Universe has a way of reflecting the things we need if only we would pay attention.
• We can act, react, or stay immobile. There is no judgment in any of it but it does define who we
are.
• The compassionate act on our part is enough and it is irrelevant whether or not the person acceptsit.
• Where our attention goes, so does our energy.
• We also need to exhibit compassion toward ourselves.
• Our body, our car, might be fancy or just a beaten up vehicle but it is the road we take which
defines us, not the car.

• So, if you were to look at a movie of you right now, what would you see and what is the true
story when all is said and done?
5. Physical Energy
• Each body has a unique pattern, a unique code and therefore a unique footprint and life.
• The health of a person is far more complex and all-encompassing than just the limits of the body.
• Our soul always knows when we are off track; it is our body and mind who need time to catch up
with our soul.
• Most of us have lost our loving connection with food and with that, part of our health.
• Thus we are what we think we are and the fear of failure becomes in itself the cause for failure.
6. Mental Energy
• Our brains might process data in a similar way but the outcome is different as we are conditioned
by our experiences. Thoughts are subjective as they are linked to the subject: us.
• Our bodies favor a mentally, emotionally, physically, and spiritually balanced state.
• No matter which cards life deals us, our active thoughts and actions shape our uniqueness.
• What we believe with our mind, we manifest in our body.
• Everything is a reflection of ourselves as we are the observer and we are the creator.
7. Emotional Energy
• Emotion determines the energy of the body like wearing on a coat.
• A negative attitude acts like acid , and eats away at the emotional body.
• We are the co-creators of our life and what we focus on, we manifest and grow.
• Each time we learn, like a sculptor, we chisel out our character a bit more.
8. Environmental Energy
• As people we color everything through our perception.
• In essence, we can release energy from our ‘bubble’ and our body as a whole and send it through
intention to other people or other living creatures.
• When we receive energy from others, we process it in much the same way we process food;
except we don’t use the digestive tract, we use our ‘energy track’.
9. Ambient Energy
• Where orbs are energetic elements of spiritual aspects, healing keys are energetic elements of
physical aspects. A healing key is an energetic code which causes healing in a person.
• There are about 70 healing keys in this book.
• By “sending them (deceased) to the light”, their heavier energy is made lighter until it is no more.
10. Life’s Healing Energy
• When we find our purpose, we acquire a sense of belongingness.
• Once we understand the interconnectedness of everything, it becomes apparent how our actions
speak much louder than our words.

• What we believe becomes our reality.
• We attract into our life what we are.
• We receive what we are rather than what we want.
• We create a resonance with it and fine tune our own vibration.
• Gratitude helps us get in sync with our environment.
• Our thinking is enhanced when talking with people we resonate with.
• Remember, there are no coincidences and there is a reason for all our experiences.
• Our world is colored according to our own reality, not that of others.
• The lesson has to be learnt first, if not, our path is blocked.
• Just like the breaking of light through a prism, we transform into a multitude of colored beams.
