Providing Hope and Economic Opportunity For All#ourvoicesourimpact www.jvs-socal.org

After beginning her career in project management and administrative roles, Shirley’s dream was to transition into a sustainable and meaningful career in the healthcare field. She struggled to find full time work for over a year when she was accepted into the September 2020 JVS CareerWork$ Medical program. She was excited to begin the program, which combined online and in-person classes, but did not have a laptop and needed car repairs so she could get to class. The WLN Impact Grant provided the bridge she needed to get through the program, including a new laptop, car repairs, as well as money for gas and Wi-Fi. Shirley graduated in early November and is interviewing for positions in her new field. In Shirley’s words, “The impact your generous donation has made on my life has been such a blessing. I am even more motivated to proceed in my career because of the example this program has been for me. I hope to be able to help someone the way you have helped me during this hard situation.”
