President’s Message
And then it was Spring!
Not to be one of those people who wonder where the time has gone ... nor to be one who stands on the sidelines and watches life pass her by ... but this year has offered up a strange and exotic trip.
Personally I learned the value of sisterhood and friendship, of having a group of someones truly BE there for me. This year's experiences taught me how to walk in grace softly, being ever thankful for the loving women in my life in a way I could not appreciate before.
While I did not provide the leadership that I had desired, I do see that there is value in just letting time pass. Our fundraiser WILL be successful; I believe that we will each see to that. Former presidents stepped up and are making it happen. Each of us will sell at least five tickets. I know that for a fact. Some lucky couple will take a trip on a beautiful ship and support our young women at the same time. I'm hazarding a guess that we will sell nearly all of the 1000 tickets and our cup will runneth over!
Another way in which I find I am blessed is in having 'my' board sign up for the coming year; what we did not accomplish in 2017, we will in 2018. I foresee a year of
increased membership, especially in the 30-something age group, of powerful speakers that enlighten us as women living here in Paradise, and of a flash-back fundraiser
similar to Cheeseburgers in Paradise. ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ anyone? As to our goals when we started back in August, I find that we HAVE attracted attention from eight powerful young women and I believe we will do so double-fold next year.
I look forward to a wonderful spring, filled with sunny days and shared laughter. Thank you to all who made this year (and who continue to make this year great) one to remember. I am looking forward to seeing all of you on April 5th!
In bonds,
Marcia

Anna and Brenna Kaminski volunteered to reach out to try to follow the process we used last year. 7. Scholarship: Meridith Hall, chair; Danielle Joseph, Wendi Nolder
Meridith provided a detailed report on the work of the committee and announced that all the chapters have been contacted and that the committee members have been working on the details of the program. The voucher can go towards another cruise or an upgrade to another cruise. Members are asked to sell at least five tickets; but we hope to sell 1,000 tickets to increase the monies we are raising for scholarships. Michelle Everett explained how she had already sold fourteen by sending out an email to thirty friends. Checks and ticket stubs are to be mailed to the P.O. box. If tickets are purchased on our Web site, Diane will mail the ticket to the purchaser and submit the stub for drawing. Members can turn in funds and tickets at the scholarship dinner on May 4, where the winning ticket will be drawn. The member who sells the winning ticket and the winner of the cruise will each receive a bottle of champagne in appreciation for their support of our campaign.
