THBT ANIMAL TESTING IS A MORAL HAZARDAnimal exploitation nowadays is considered as something so common, like animals live doesnt have any value at all and people really dont care about how animals would suffer for fulfilling humans needs. We think its shouldnt be like that. For example, in the U.S. only, 100 millions animals are burned, crippled, poisoned and abused for the testing every year. 100 million is not a small number. This really shows how exploitative we are to the animal. Thats why we believe animal testing is a moral hazard. By proposing this motion, we really dont support any kind of animal testing. Even if necessary, we will ban the animal testing but for now we only say we dont support this. We have 3 strong arguments why we believe animal testing is a moral hazard:1. We shouldnt sacrifice other species for the humans sake.Animals doesnt get the same benefit as human from the animal testing. Animals doesnt have the same goal as human either. Humans want to make drugs/cosmetic by testing it to animals, meanwhile animals only want to survive their live. This can be considered as a moral hazard because humans sacrifice this entity, animals, which is not from human species. This also proves that humans are so selfish, sacrificing anything thats not theirs just for their sake, selfishness also can be considered as a moral hazard. Therefore we should only use humans for testing, because if humans sacrifice for humans too, this is considered as humanity. For example, people go to war to save their nation. Theyre sacrificing themselves for other humans and this is humanity. Thats why we shouldnt sacrifice other species for the human sake.2. Its not fair if we use animals by forceHumans need to humanize living creature which is not human too. We all know that animals too can feel pain as we can see their expression when theyre about to be slaughtered. Theyre so fearful and always try to save themselves. Animals have feelings and human too, just like humans as we can see how animals can make a bond between parents and children. For example, a hen will protect their chicks when the chicks are in danger. The only thing that makes us different from them is our brain capacity. Animals cannot think as well as humans do. But just because of that, that doesnt mean we can use them by force. This is unfair to make them as an experiment when we can use humans. Why is using humans is more fair? Humans can be informed about what we would like to do with them and they also know the consequences by taking this choice. Meanwhile animals, they dont know anything, they dont agree about anything, but in a sudden we force them to be an experiment. To be tortured. To be poisoned. To be killed. Cognition is important in experiment, for example babies. We can use baby as an experiment because they dont know the consequences about the experiment. This is similar how animal cannot be an experiment. Forcing any species to become an experiment is clearly a moral hazard.3. Using animal will only waste time and resourcesAnimals structure is similar to humans, but not totally the same as humans. Testing on animals wont be as efficient as testing on humans because the failure rate is very high. Using animal will only waste time. Time efficiencing is important because we will discover the medical resources that we need faster. Using animals for testing will also waste resources in laboratory thats used for this experiment. For example we have a data from peta.org that in the U.S. alone, $16 Billion is used for animal testing annually. The most horrible fact about that is, only 8% of the research who has been successful. This really waste the money while the money can be used for other aspect like education, country development, etc. (NEG) Animal testing is not a moral hazard. The intention of animal testing is to save peoples life. How can saving peoples life be considered as a moral hazard? Moreover animal testing has given so much for us in medical. For example, we can eradicate polio virus because of medical experimentation on primates. Another example, thanks to animals primarily mice, cancer survival rate have continued to rise. And many others medical treatment has been discovered from animal testing. Thats why we believe animal testing is not a moral hazard.1. humans has higher degree than animals. Its part of morality that humans live not only to survive their life but also to develop their life. This is proven by how technology is developing day by day. The thinking capability that is owned by human shows how we should always develop to the betterment. We cannot deny that we consume, we breed them, we use them for continuing our life. We use them for the greater good of our race. Thats why animals should help us, in this case doctor/medical researcher, for saving peoples life. Considering that humans have do many things for the animals too like building conservation zone for animals. We love animals too, like you can see people have their pets as their family. But in this case animals are very needed. Thats why we believe animal testing is not a moral hazard2. we dont want to risk more people lifeThe use of animals on medical experiment is aiming to improve medical treatments for saving people from disease. Moreover were the same species and its become a duty that we need to protect each other. Were bonded by this. Were humans. Beside that, animal testing is done for curing disease thats suffered by human. Its kind of unwise if we give the burden of testing experiment to human too. This will risk another life, while our intention is to save people life. Thats why we need to use animal testing and we believe its not a moral hazard.3. using animals will save time.Using animals for testing will save time for discovering new medical treatment. Medical treatment is needed so immediately because we want to save peoples life which is in danger because of some specific disease. However, if we dont use animal, the only alternative is using human testing. Unfortunately human testing is not that effective. First, there are not many humans who wants to be a volunteer for human testing. Most of them are afraid to the risk of human testing. Second, human testing is not that effective. Like what stated by The U.S Food and Drug Administration (FDA), 92% drugs that have been approved in human testing fail to receive approval for human use. That means only 8% thats really applicable. This proves that using humans is not effective and we believe that using animals will save time.
