From 1 February 2018, medicines containing codeine will only be available with a prescription from your doctor.
What medicines are affected?
Why is this change happening? There are risks associated with the long term use of over-the-counter codeine medicines. There are alternatives available that carry less risk and are equally effective in the treatment of pain, cold and flu.
Painkillers such as: • Panadeine • Nurofen Plus • Mersyndol• Pharmacy generic brand
