The Swiss hospitality firm, which pridesitselfonitssustainabletourismvaluesandpractices and was last year hailed themost ‘Green Globe certified hotelcompanyintheworld’,isamajorsponsor
ofthe‘LightUsSustainableRelay’–auniqueeventthataimstochangeperceptionsaboutgreentransport.
The 3,500km relay,which is being co-organised by theDRIVEGroup and theMoroccanIntelligenceandPublicAffairsInstitute(MIPAI),startsinMarrakechonOctober30,travelsthroughsixcountries–Morocco,Spain,France,Switzerland,BelgiumandGermany-andfinishes inBonnonNovember6 tocoincidewith the startofCOP23,anannualUnitedNationsclimatechangeconference,whichtakesplaceinthecityfrom6to17November.
The relay will demonstrate how it is now possible to travel long distances in electricvehicles,encouragingpeoplearoundtheworldtochangethewaytheytravelanddrivetopreservetheenvironment.
SeveralMövenpickpropertiesareplayingakeyrole inhostingdrivers,spectators,mediaandothergueststakingpart intherelay,aswellasstagingeventstomarkthestartandfinish of the green mobility drive. They include the Mövenpick Hotel Mansour EddahbiMarrakech,whichwillhostanopeningpartyandMövenpickHotelFrankfurtCity,whichwillstageaspectaculargaladinnertoofficiallyclosetherelayonNovember6.
Ateachstageoftheeco-friendlyexpedition,theTeslacardriversandtheirsupportteamswillbehostedbylocalhotelsincludingMövenpickHotelMansourEddahbiMarrakechandMövenpickHotel&CasinoMalabataTanger (Tangiers) inMorocco,MövenpickHotel&CasinoGenevainSwitzerlandandMövenpickHotelFrankfurtCityinGermany.
