WelcomeDear Friends and Supporters:

Jewish Family Services of Greater Orlando was founded in 1978, based on the Jewish values of tzedakah (righteousness), tikkun olam (repairing the world) and chesed (kindness). To this day, JFS Orlando continues to embody these traditions.

Because of our supporters, in 2016, JFS Orlando:

• Impacted the lives of over 10,000 individuals through individual and group counseling; homelessness and hunger prevention; life skills education; rent, mortgage and utility assistance; and senior transportation.

• Completed a $175,000.00 facility renovation project with a grant received from the Orange County Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program that helps us better serve the community.

• Opened a computer lab, in partnership with the Frances and Joseph Victor Fund through the Central Florida Foundation, providing internet access and computer learning classes for clients and the community.

JFS Orlando’s focus is making a significant impact on the lives of our neighbors in Central Florida. JFS Orlando remains committed to helping all in our community by empowering individuals and families towards independence. No one in need is turned away from services at JFS Orlando as a result of their religion, gender, race or origin. We care for children, adults and seniors with full respect for beliefs, choices, values and differences. JFS Orlando supports Central Floridians day in and day out, because of you and others like you who care deeply about friends and neighbors who need an outstretched hand to face the inevitable ups and downs that life brings.

Thank you for allowing us to continue this tradition of repairing the world, one person at a time.

JFS Orlando’s MissionThe mission of Jewish Family Services of Greater Orlando is to provide vital, high-quality and innovative social services to people in need.

The Family Stabilization Program (FSP) is a preventative, six-month intensive case management program designed to help low-income families achieve long-term stability and self-sufficiency by teaching them critical skills and tools to mitigate immediate crises and avoid future hardships. The fundamental program goal is to prevent the spread of homelessness by providingmeaningful, long-term solutions for at-risk individuals and families.

Working with the people at JFS Orlando, I was able to set up a plan and goals to start the upward journey. They provided classes for how to do networking, build a resume, and most important for me was on building a budget and how to build good credit. I highly recommend the Family Stabilization Program to all who find themselves in a bad situation and feel lost as to how to get back on track to obtaining their goals in life.

The Pearlman Emergency FoodPantry provides emergency foodassistance to vulnerable individualsand families in our community whoare struggling to make ends meet. Our pantry provides enough food for three meals a day for four days for each household member per pantry visit.

Due to some extra bills, I had no food money toward the end of the month. I stretched my cupboard out as far as it would go, but I was scared. I’ve only had to ask for food aid a couple of times in my life. I was given a beautiful small cart of groceries. Four bags full! I nearly cried.
