BOARD ELECTION

In accordance with the Bylaws of the Hastings Area Chamber of Commerce, the Nominating Committee, which consists of current board members, submits the following candidate to serve a three year term on the Board of Directors.

Active members of the Chamber, not less than 15 in number, may within five (5) days of receiving this notice (by September , 2016) nominate other candidates for the same office or offices. Such nominations shall be in writing, signed by the members making them and shall be delivered to the President who shall certify compliance with the Bylaws and notify membership of the Chamber that the individuals so nominated have been added to the official election slate.

Each voting member, firm, association or corporation shall be entitled to cast one vote.

Marked ballots must be returned to the Chamber office within fifteen days after mailing (by September 30, 2016). Votes received after 5 p.m. shall not be counted. Please return this ballot to the Hastings Area Chamber of Commerce, 314 Vermillion Street, Suite 100, Hastings MN 55033, or to Kristy@hastingsmn.org.

Thank you to our Renewing Members!Mark Christianson, Realtor and Broker for Keystone Real Estate, has been serving on The Hastings Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors since Fall of 2013. Mark has been in the real estate business for 23 years and has been running Keystone Real Estate for 10 years. Mark says, "I enjoy selling real estate in this area in part because Hastings is essentially a small town market and I've gotten to know many people, but the close proximity to the metro area and the rural areas south and east is a big plus because it provides many other types of properties for clients to consider." Mark grew up in Hastings and is a U of M graduate and worked in Rochester as a computer design engineer at IBM for 10 years prior to starting a career in real estate. Mark enjoys fishing, biking, and going to concerts. We appreciate Mark's time and dedication to serving the Members of the Chamber and for his insight that has been of great value to both the Chamber Board and the Chamber Members.

Norine Biship, Owner of Emily's Bakery and Deli, has been serving on The Hastings Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors since Fall of 2013. Norine has owned Emily's Bakery and Deli together with her brother Steve Fox for 28 years. They bought the bakery from her parents in 1988 and it

has been in their family since 1948. Norine says, "My favorite thing about doing business in Hastings is continuing the family business. I feel honored to be a third generation owner of a successful business. Of course, the wonderful customers we have met along the way make it all worthwhile...bringing smiles to faces is great!" She enjoys taking her new puppy walking and hiking. Norine also likes fishing, gardening, spending time with her loved ones, reading, and doing crafts such as stitching and jewelry making. We appreciate all Norine has done while serving on The Chamber Board of Directors. Her time, dedication, and business knowledge has been such a wonderful asset to all of our Chamber Members.

Each year, the Hastings Chamber of Commerce & Tourism Bureau awards two outstanding students scholarships through the Hastings High School Award & Scholarship program.

Our Chamber Chair, Jill Ragan Scully presented Dane Long and Cody Boyd with college scholarships for their dedication to school work, community involvement and interest in continuing education at a Minnesota trade school.

Jill also presented her own scholarship on behalf of her business, Impressive Windows & Interiors. In fact, many Chamber members presented scholarships at the Awards ceremony including DCA Title who has awarded over $279,000 in student scholarship in the past 60 years! A true testament to our generous business community and your investment in our future workforce.
