“The Reformation: What Does it Mean Today?”

Do you love your Catholic faith? Are you encouraged by the growing number of

people who are joining the Catholic Church as adults? We need your help to wel-

come our newest members.

As an RCIA sponsor you will be paired with a candidate (baptized adult from anoth-

er Christian tradition) or a catechumen (unbaptized adult) whom you will accompany

through the process of sacramental initiation. You do not have to be an “expert” or a

perfect example. All you need is a willingness to support, pray for, and connect

someone to our Catholic community.

Please contact Drew Denton in the parish office if you are interested in learning

more.

Recently we saw the beatification of Fr. Stanley Rother, the

first person born in the U.S. to be officially recognized as a

martyr. Join us to learn more about how an ordinary Okla-

homa farm-boy became the pastor of a Mayan parish in

Guatemala, and how he eventually gave up his life for his

flock.

We will watch the documentary A’plas: The Story of Father Stanley Rother and hear

from Monsignor Jowdy about how the witness of the Central American martyrs has

shaped his own life and ministry.

October 15 & 22, 10:15-11:15 a.m.

IHM Middle School Room 8-1

This month marks the 500th anniversary of Martin Luther’s publication of 95 Theses,

the event popularly cited as the beginning of the Protestant Reformation. What really

happened in the Reformation? And what does it mean for Catholics today? Join us

for an honest, two-part discussion featuring both Catholic and Protestant voices, as

together we seek deeper unity in the Body of Christ.
