Quick News Thank you Tipp City voters for supporting our schools. May 12, 2014 Superintendent’s Message John P. Kronour, Ph.D. During the month of May, each school in the Tipp City School District will conduct an unannounced emergency “crisis” drill in collaboration with the Tipp City Police Department. The district will not communicate the specific date or the building’s unique threat simulation to teachers, parents or children in advance. The staged event will determine proper protocol used by the teachers and staff. Response to the threat could include securing and barricading the classroom doors for a lockdown or fleeing the building. The location and scenario will dictate a teacher’s decision. May’s drill is part of the ongoing district-wide emergency preparedness plan to ensure the safety of our students and staff during such an occurrence. Congratulations to State Science Day Winners Congratulations to the Tippecanoe High School and Tippecanoe Middle School students who competed successfully at the 66 th Annual State Science Day held at The Ohio State University. Sophomores Thomas Chaney and Samantha Rowland earned Superior ratings. Chaney also received a 5-year State Science Day Participant Certificate and Governor’s Award of Excellence in Environmental Protection Research. Rowland received the Human Nutrition Award from the Ohio Nutrition Council. Receiving Excellent ratings were THS students Allison Chitwood, Emily Doll, Nathan Schall and TMS students Jessica Miller, Leena Vyas, and Abigail Walker. More than 1,100 students from the state participated in the all-day event with a total of $4.4 million distributed as scholarships and awards. Students exhibited projects in science, technology, engineering and mathematics.
