2017 operating fund to be invested in youth and family ministry, the general
operations of the congregation and repaying the mortgage. Learn more on the
church website or in the brochure on the welcome counter.
Youth are important at Central Lutheran Church! Two Winona State students have agreed to serve on a youth ministry team at
Central. A third student has also been invited to serve and will make a response
by Christmas, at which time their names will be announced. They will start
January 10 after they return from winter break. They will be paid from past gifts
by Central members designated for this purpose, so this will not affect our current
operating budget.
This youth ministry team will work on a very part-time basis. They will connect
with youth and their parents to start recruiting for the 2018 ELCA Youth
Gathering and to organize a group of youth and adults to sponsor monthly events
for high school youth. They will work at least through next spring or summer
during which time your council and next pastor will firm up plans for long-term
youth ministry staffing. Although their time at Central may be short, we believe
the impact will last for years. Please watch for more information.
