Visa Application

For Mexican Nationality

1. About the visa:

a) Type of visa:

You will be applying for a “non-immigrant” visa type “ED – Single Entry” that stands for “Educational visa”. We recommend Single Entry because 99% of the time, ED visa is given a Single Entry. If you need to leave Thailand during your internship, at the airport, when going through immigration please request the officer for a ‘re entry’ on your visa, it will cost you 1,000THB. The following link has all the details: http://thailatinamerica.net/mexico/images/NM_ED.pdf

b) Visa Eligibility for ED visa: To apply for a visa, a foreigner must: • Possess a valid passport or travel document that is recognized by the Royal Thai Government. • Have a Support Letter from your University stating that the internship is part of his/her studies • In addition, the visa applicant must be outside of Thailand at the time of application.

c) Validity of a visa: The validity of a visa is for 3 months initially and will be extended every 90 days while in Thailand or in a neighboring country. The maximum stay is for 12 months. The validity of a visa is displayed on Arrival Stamps.

d) Processing time: You can apply from up to 3 months before the intended arriving date to Thailand. It takes 2-4 business days for your visa to be processed once your application is submitted. For the applications received via mail (DHL), please bear in mind the time for the package to be delivered and sent back to the applicant. The Thai embassy recommends people apply between 15 – 30 days before the planned arrival date.

e) Visa Fee: • The cost is 2,000 Baht (80 USD) for single entry. • For Non-ED visa, multiple-entry is not allowed.
