Thailand

Land trades and cross-border

Thailand is one of the most land-connected countries in ASEAN.

Bangkok is conveniently connected by roads to neighbour ASEAN countries

and to China.

Taking the road network of Thailand, a constant flow of cargo and containers,

Dry and Reefer, goes through Bangkok or Laem Chabang to link up to

Cambodia and Laos.

Trades with China also take the route Thailand/Laos.

The popular route is from Bangkok by road to the Nong Khai border 620Km

away.

It is just 26Km away from Vientiane through the Friendship bridge crossing

the Mekong River.

To Cambodia, it is around 250Km from Bangkok by road to the top choice

Aranyaprathet border checkpoint.

Where it goes by road for just 117Km to Krong Battambang, the 2nd

largest

city in Cambodia; and another 422Km from Poipet to the capital Phnom Penh.

En route to Phnom Penh, it is only 150Km from Poipet to Angkor Wat, a UN

World Heritage site in Siam Reap Province in Cambodia.

To Sihanoukville port, if choosing the Hat Lek / Cham Yeam border

checkpoint first, then it is just around 240Km by road to the Sihanoukville

Port of Cambodia.

This border checkpoint is also just 339Km from Laem Chabang port.

Maritime

Bangkok Port (BKK)

There are over 31 ports in Gulf of Thailand and Andaman Sea.

Bangkok, Laem Chabang, and Songkhla are well connected with

internationally sea trade routes.

Along the Chao Phraya River which flows through, Bangkok, there are 6

container ports located from city centre to the estuary of Chao Phraya River.

Goods and materials are mostly processed in the over 20 industrial zones

around Bangkok.

These industrial zones are also supported by over ICDs like

Also, there are over 10 Off-Dock CFS around Bangkok.

*There is a 6 hours feeder service between BMTP and LCH.

*MOL will JV with Sahathai Terminal Co., to form Bangkok Barge Terminal

Co., Ltd. (BBT) to operate BBT Barge Container Terminl as a new gateway to

Laem Chabang for customers to move cargo to and from the outlying areas.

The international deep sea port is Laem Chabang which is 125Km South East

by road from Bangkok.
