Updates on Projects

The District is always keeping up with maintaining the public infrastructure that assures you reliable water, wastewater, stormwater, parks, recreation, and open space services. Recent and current projects include:

• Completion of Water Supply Well Site No. 6 – drilling and equipping of two new wells providing an additional 120 gallons per minute.

• Completion of the rehabilitation of Guthrie Water Supply Well LFH-2

• Completion of design of three new groundwater supply wells and extension of raw water supply pipelines for construction before Summer 2021. This is expected to cost about $5-6 million

• Completion of Falcon Sewer Lift Station Improvements project providing a new dump station for the sewer maintenance truck and other improvements

• Completion of installation of new outside play structure at Recreation Center Childcare

• Completion of replacement of 6 spin-cycles at Recreation Center

• Completion of new streetscapes in WindingWalk and Stonebridge subdivisions

• Completion of new WindingWalk Park on Rainbow Bridge Drive

• Replaced worn swings at The Greens Park on Meridian Ranch Boulevard

• Replaced 60 dead trees, mostly along Londonderry Drive

• Extended outdoor pool season into October

2021 Budget and Service Fees

Watch our website for the draft budget and updates that will be posted. District staff will present a Draft Proposed 2021 Budget to the Board of Directors at the regular meeting on November 4. The District will hold an evening public workshop on the proposed budget on Wednesday, November 18 at 7:00 p.m. in the Recreation Center. This will be a good opportunity to hear explanations of the proposed budget and any proposed rate increases for 2021. This is also a good time to ask questions and offer comments. In addition, the Board of Directors will be having budget discussions and a formal public hearing on December 2 (see the website for updates to dates and times, location, and agendas, and whether specific meetings will be held virtually by conference call).

Fun Facts

• $350,000 annually spent on electric energy for pumping water and wastewater

• $135,000 annually spent on street lights

• $100,000 is the value of water used annually to irrigate District maintained landscaping

Watch for news and updates about these and other matters on the District’s website.
