Thursday 1st November, 2018

We will assemble at the impressive King Shaka

International airport in anticipation of our 19:10

Emirates flight to Dubai. Before checking in Kyle will

give the “opening speech” detailing the exciting trip

ahead.

Friday 2nd November, 2018

Our layover (3 hours) in Dubai gives you just

enough time to stock up on Duty free items before

boarding our flight to Bangkok, Thailand. We land

at the impressive Suvarnabhumi Airport at roughly

17:55 local time. After passing through immigration

we will be collected by air-conditioned vans and

transported to our hotel in Hua Hin.

Our amazing hotel for the week is the 4* Amari

Hua Hin. Golfers will enjoy the modern comfort at

the Amari Hua Hin. Situated on the Gulf of Thailand,

the Hua Hin resort offers top-notch accommodation

in a relaxed garden setting. Constructed in 2011

and opened in 2012 the Amari Hua Hin features

accommodation ranging from deluxe rooms to

expansive suites.

The rooms are stylishly furnished and offer

golfers spacious living areas with modern

amenities. Local markets and beaches are

just steps away from the resort, which makes

it a good choice for anyone on a Hua Hin Golf

tour. Amari Hua Hin provides a great blend of

convenience, cost, and comfort.

After checking into the hotel, those wanting to

get some rest may do so while others can dive

straight into the Thailand nightlife by taking a

walk on the streets and seeing what Hua Hin has

Saturday 3rd November, 2018

Our first full day in Thailand beckons, we allow everyone

to lie in a bit before departing for our first round of

golf on the trip at Springfield Royal Country Club. The

traditional Jack Nicklaus designed golf course located off

the Hua Hin bypass road is one of the best in area.

The course at Springfield has been designed to meet the

high demands of a recognized championship golf course,

and yet it remains an enjoyable challenge for golfers of

all standards. Each hole has a minimum of five tees to

play from, water hazards regularly come into play, and

each hole presents its challenge and character requiring

finesse or unrestraint. Accuracy is required at all times

as the rough comprises of a series of hillocks and holes

lined by a forest of mature trees.

Sunday, 4th November, 2018

After breakfast we will meet in the hotel lobby and depart

on our very exciting Eat Like a Local Food Tour. On this

3½ hour tour, your guide will take you off the beaten

track. You will try some amazing tasting Thai food in

humble surrounds. You will be eating with locals, which

just backs up the age-old adage that ‘locals always know

where to find the best food in town’. The tour comprises

of around 15 food tastings stopping at 5 restaurants

& 1 street food vendor. Slurp and eat noodles within

a traditional 2 storey Thai house near the railway line.

Sample Thai sweets that will challenge and delight your

senses. Sample the subtle flavours of Northern Thai

cuisine.After the tour, perhaps spend some time on the

beach soaking up the sun, come on you deserve it! There

are loads of markets keeping you entertained or chill out

having a cocktail at the hotel swimming pool, the choice

is yours.

The format of the day will be 4 Ball Alliance (2 scores to

count) gently easing golfers into the competition.

After golf, take your time walking the streets of Hua Hin,

visit the Cicada Night market, grab a bite to eat and take

in the Thai nightlife.

Into The Wild // SECTION 4

Monday 5th November, 2018

Its round 2 of the golfing action and today we have a

special treat for you, the infamous Banyan Golf Club.

Built among a former pineapple plantation, Banyan Golf

Club opened in October 2008. Immediately following,

the course was awarded 2009 Best New Course in

Asia-Pacific by the readers of Asian Golf Monthly. Since

then  Banyan Golf Club  course, clubhouse, and staff

have consistently claimed ‘Top 3 in Asia’ awards and

have been featured in the ‘Rolex Top 1000’ in the World.

Thailand golf course architect Pirapon Namatra

from Golf East designed the world class 18-hole

championship golf course and is known to be one of

the most natural in the country.

Todays format of Betterball Stableford will keep golfers

on their toes on golf’s traditional “moving day”.

After golf you have time to do whatever the heart

desires. Kyle will offer some tips on what to see and

where to go. The , Khao Takiab and the Venezia are

just some of the many things to do and see.

Tuesday 6th November, 2018

Its time to explore Hua Hin and surrounds, after

breakfast we depart on our Huay Mongkol Temple & Hua

Hin Floating Market Tour. Drive to visit Huay Mongkol

Temple located west of Hua Hin. Wat Huay Mongkol was

home to the monk who was famed for his “miracles”

and it houses the largest statue of Luang Pu Thuat in

Thailand. His Reverend Luang Poh Tuad is one of the

kingdom’s famous and highly revered Buddhist monks.

Many people recognize and remember Luang Poh

Tuad for the miraculous act of having turned seawater

into fresh water in one incident and, therefore, it was

believed that he had supernatural powers. Two massive

black wooden elephants stand either side of the steps,

decoratively carved and festooned in a variety of tulle

ribbons and bows. Local people circle the elephants,

walking under the bellies of the carved beasts, nine times

for good luck. As they walk they pray, or ask for favours,

merit, happiness, or just to be lucky in their lives. 

Continue to visit the Hua Hin Sam Phan Nam Floating

Market located on a 100-rai plot. The market offers

tourists a number of food and shopping areas with a

traditional Siamese theme recalling the days of King

Rama V and King Rama VI. There is a train service that

will run inside the project as well as a reproduction of

the well-known Hua Him Railway Station.

After the half day tour it’s time to relax, why not spoil

yourself with a cocktail at the hotel before heading

out and having dinner at one of the many famous

restaurants in town.

Wednesday 7th November, 2018

Its final round time, our last day of scheduled

golf on the trip. Today we play Individual

Stableford with the overall prize on the line.

We certainly have saved the “best for last” as

we head onto Black Mountain Golf Club. Set in

a valley surrounded by large black granite rock

covered mountains, the Hua Hin golf course was

the site for Asian PGA tour events in 2009 and

2010 and the Europe versus Asia match play

Royal Trophy in 2011. In 2012 and each year

since Black Mountain was selected as one of the

100 best golf courses outside the USA by Golf

Digest magazine. In 2014 Black Mountain hosted

The Thailand Classic, the first European Tour

event to be staged in Thailand. The Thailand

Classic also held s design elements on many of

the holes. Its no surprise this golf course has

been awarded “Best golf course in Thailand” for

7 years in a row.

An informal prizegiving will take place after golf,

Kyle will talk about the golfing highlights from

the trip as well as hand out prizes (to those

deserving).

Thursday 8th November, 2018

Unfortunately, all good things must come to an

end, today is the final full day and you have it

completely at leisure. All the time in the world

to shop, buy gifts for loved ones back home or

perhaps you want to sneak in an extra round of

golf (extra cost)? Kyle will be more than willing to

help arrange your day.

Spend your last evening at leisure before meeting

in the hotel lobby for the late transfer back to

Bangkok airport (+- 9pm).

Thursday 9th November, 2018

Our early morning flight (03:30) departs

Suvarnabhumi Airport en-route for Dubai.

Another 3-hour layover in Dubai before we head

on back to good old Durban. Its time to share our

amazing stories with both friends and family.
