Thank you for everyone’s hard work with this endeavor and to our Pumpkin Patch King and Queen crowned by our own Ms. Molesky! It’s true that the ancient Celts of Ireland and Brit- ain celebrated a minor festival on October 31–as they did on the last day of most other months of the year. Howev- er, Halloween falls on the last day of October because the Solemnity of All Saints, or “All Hallows,” falls on No- vember 1. Pope Gregory III (d. 741) moved it to Novem- ber 1, the dedication day of All Saints Chapel in St. Peter’s at Rome. All Saints' Day is a solemn holy day of the Catholic Church celebrated annually on November 1. The day is dedicated to the saints of the Church, that is, all those who have attained heaven. It should not be confused with All Souls' Day, which is observed on No- vember 2, and is dedicated to those who have died and not yet reached heaven. Personal safety guidance lessons from the Yellow Dyno program were presented to early childhood and elementary students during the month of October. From Ms. Vega: Attention Choir, Advanced and

Intermediate Strings

Choir, advanced strings and inter-mediate strings students will practice at St. Mary’s University on Friday, November 3, for the Assembly Mass which will take place on Saturday, November 4. Transportation to the practice will be by motor coach. Students will leave St. Luke at 9:15am and return to St. Luke at approximate-ly 1:00pm. PLEASE BRING A SACK LUNCH.

Congratulations Volleyball 2017 AIAL Champs!

Congratulations to the volleyball team and their coaches on a perfect sea-son! The volleyball team capped off their undefeated season by winning the AIAL championship and keeping the championship at St. Luke for an-other year. Congratulations go out to our championship all-tournament players Olivia Arredondo, Lindsey Olivarri and Alyssa Manitzas. Well done!

We are so proud of our football team; they played their hearts out and showed true grit and perseverance on the field at every game this season!

Congratulations to Angelica Vasquez and AJ Wylie for garnering the most votes for Queen and King of the Pumpkin Patch. Trey Hudgins was the winner of the piñata filled with candy and a $25 movie gift card. Many thanks to all who supported the Beta Club by purchasing a ballot. All pro-ceeds will benefit scholarships for 8th grade students.

Middle school teachers were in on the Halloween fun.

Pre-Kinder and Kinder students stopped by the office for some treats during their Halloween Pa-rade. First grade students led the All Saints Day liturgy for the school and parish communities.
