There is a social committee who organise a variety of events throughout the year. These range from trying out the vast range of local eating establishments, through charity fundraising events, to participating in local pub quiz nights.

Coming from a geology background I was quite worried that I would be left behind in the world of geophysics. However, with the ongoing training in TGS this was not to be the case. Every aspect was thoroughly explained with training modules, from the application in industry to the background theory. Then at any point you could contact the pre appointed expert in a certain area and, if needs be, ask for extra help. After spending 2 years as a processing geophysicist I have transferred internally to a business development role.”

Compensation Package

TGS offers an excellent benefits package with a competitive salary and access to profit sharing, or bonus. TGS runs a scheme to reward its employees for achieving corporate goals and targets during its financial year. Each year the TGS board will allocate a percentage of salary to be paid as bonus if targets are met.

SALARY IS REVIEWED ANNUALLY AND THE INCREASE IS BASED ON PERFORMANCE.

The bonus is calculated on a quarterly basis with final adjustment being made at the end of the year. The amount paid will be adjusted pro-rata to the amount of profit made vs the planned profit. Eligibility for the bonus scheme begins on completion of two complete financial quarters.
