Better to be poor and honest than rich and crooked.

Proverbs 28:6 NLT

The blessing of the Lord makes a person rich and he adds no sorrow with it.

Proverbs 10:22 NLT

1. There is a Proverbs plan to avoid poverty.

2. God blesses the righteous materially.

The Lord does not let the righteous go hungry but he thwarts the craving of the wicked. 10:3

The rich and the poor meet together; the Lord is the maker of them all. 22:2 KJV

The faithful man will abound with blessings, but he who hastens to be rich will not go unpunished. 28:20

Honor the Lord with your wealth, with the firstfruits of all your crops; then your barns will be filled to overflowing, and your vats will brim with new wine.

Proverbs 3:9-10

A little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to rest—and poverty will come on you like a bandit and scarcity like an armed man.

A slack hand causes poverty, but the hand

of the diligent makes rich. A wise youth

harvests in the summer, but the one who

He who tills his land will have plenty of bread, but he

who follows worthless pursuits has no sense. 12:11

Take a lesson from the ants, you lazybones. Learn their

ways and become wise! Though they have no prince or

governor to make them work, they labor all summer,

gathering food for the winter. 6:6-11

And put a knife to your throat if you are given to gluttony.

The rich rule over the poor, and the borrower is a servant to the lender.

Proverbs 22:7

He who puts up security for another will surely suffer, but whoever refuses to strike hands in pledge is safe.

Proverbs 11:15

My son, if you have put up security for your neighbor, if you have struck hands in pledge for another, if you have been trapped by what you said, ensnared by the words of your mouth, then do this, my son, to free yourself, since you have fallen into your neighbors hands: Go and humble yourself; press your plea with your neighbor! Allow no sleep to come to your eyes, no slumber to your eyelids. Free yourself, like a gazelle from the hand of the hunter, like a bird from the snare of the fowler. 6:1-5
