have developed and funded, from such reserves, substantial

The Jefferson County Story
For over a decade, Jefferson County School District experienced poor academic performance, financial problems, and had a 40% decrease in student enrollment
Jefferson County school board voted (at the encouragement of the State) unanimously to appoint Somerset Academy Inc. to operate local schools in July 2017
A vote that the Education Commissioner, Pam Stewart' called 'historic'
Jefferson County became Florida's first charter-only district
In the first year of operation Somerset Jefferson:
Gained back families that had fled the county to find other schools
Earned a 'C' for the elementary school
Earned a 'B' for the middle/high school
Earned an overall school district grade of a C – the highest grade since 2011.
