Photography has long been considered one of the creative arts. There is little doubt that a photographer uses

special artistic skills to create a photo. The professional publication of a photo often serves as a validation of

the level of the photographer’s creative ability. Dr. Byron Augustin is one of the most prolific creative

photographers in college and university teaching. A list of the number of photos that Dr. Augustin has

published is to extensive to include in a vita. Therefore, a summary of his lengthy portfolio of creativity will be

listed.

Publication of 1,086 copyright photos in books, slide sets, magazines, exhibits, professional reports,

academic journal articles, posters, video tapes, and newspapers.

Publication by fifty-five individual publishers located on four different continents.

Photos published in books representing the academic disciplines of geography, history, world

cultures, music, modern languages, religion, environmental studies, climatology, social science,

biology, mathematics, earth science, literature, anthropology, archeology, women’s studies, general

science, reading, agriculture, oceanography, and physics.

Photos permanently displayed at the Texas State Aquarium, Big Thicket National Preserve, and the

Arab-American Cultural and Community Center of Houston, Texas.

National Geographic Society in Washington, DC.
