A Word from the President…… Welcome Providers,
Are you SUMMER ready? Providers please en-
sure your children in care are supplied with plenty
of water. If you do field trips please make sure you
have in place a checklist to make sure all children
are in and out of your vehicles– REMEMBER to
check your vehicles. Kids have already died in hot
vehicles this year.
I am proud to report that all 5 workshops sched-
uled across the State of the Texas were success-
ful! I want to thank all of you for attending the
workshops and for bringing a friend with you. I do
hope to see your faces at the conference. Mark
your calendars for the Annual Educational and En-
richment Conference in Houston, TX! Our confer-
ence coordinator and her committee members are
creating an awesome event for you to remember.
You may go online and register for the conference
at www.tphcca.org and select a payment plan op-
tion to pay for the conference. I look forward to
seeing all of you.

Greetings Members,
I hope and pray that is well with you, your family, and
your business. It’s that of year again! Hot( Lol). Make
sure you keep the little ones dehydrated and yourself.
Water, Water is what the body needs. As much as pos-
sible stay away from the juice products especially when
you are having outdoor activities.
As your Past President I have been assisting President
Patricia Plummer with future plans for the growth of
our association. The board of Directors will hold its 2nd
board meeting of year on June 23-24th in the lovely
city of Houston at the Hilton Houston Westchase Hotel.
If you have any concerns please feel free to email me
and I will pass the concern over to the board. Please
stick with us we need you and we love each everyone
of you all.
In closing let’s lift each other up in prayers there is so
much happening in this world. So I pray for all of you
and you all pray for me and sit and watch God work all
out for our good.

your self-studies on-line. Just answer the questions
and they will be emailed to me, or print the questions,
answer them and mail to me. For those who don’t have
internet, computer and printer that are on the self-
study mail list. If I haven’t received your last 2 self-
studies, I ‘m going to remove you from the list. This
tells me you’re not interested in receiving the self-
studies anymore. This will also help cut down on un-
necessary expenses.

2015, 2016 photos
albums so that they can be on display at conference

Hello to all the members! We are getting
ready for the conference in September. The
fundraising committee will have a table at
conference. In the past few months we have
been deciding on the conference items to be
sold at the fundraising table.
These items include a charm, t-shirt and the
conference bar. There will also be many
items at clearance prices available for you to
purchase. We will have raffle tickets for sale
during conference for some really nice priz-
es. You can only buy the raffle tickets at con-
ference and the drawing will be held at the
closing session on Sunday morning. You do
not have to be present to win.
All proceeds from the fundraising table go
back into the association. Conference is the
only time we are able to sell fundraising
items. So be sure to mark your calendar for
September 13-16,2018 and make those
plans to come to Houston so you can come
by the TPHCCA Fundraising table. Hope to
see you all there!

Texas Workforce Commission held a meeting on May 15, 2018
Additionally, TWC is seeking input on the Child Care and Development Fund
(CCDF) Plan for Program Years 2019-2021. The CCDF Plan includes sections on
consumer education, providing stable financial assistance to families,
ensuring equal access, health and safety standards, and continuous quality
improvement among others. This plan is the first since states fully
implemented the changes mandated by the Child Care and Development
Block Grant Act of 2014. Both plans are required to be submitted to their
respective federal agencies no later than June 30, 2018.

Greetings Member’s! It’s almost time to come and join us at the 30th Annual Educa-tional and Enrichment Conference in Houston, Texas! Our theme once again is “ Coloring Outside The Lines with T.P.H.C.C.A! This is my final year as your conference coordinator. The committees and I have been preparing for the event. Mark your calendars for September 13,-16, 2018. I hope to see you all there. The final conference meeting will be on Saturday June 23 at 10:00am-12:00pm. At this meeting will be final decision of com-pleting all for our conference such as Door Prizes, Exhibits, Re-sources, Hospitality, Decorations, Sessions, Presenters, etc....Also the board will have a small tasting of the entree to be served at the awards banquet on Saturday night September 15. This event is a dress up event. Dress up in your color of choice of Reds, Blues, Yellows, Pinks, Purples, Oranges, Greens, Blacks, Browns attire. Don’t forget about our Annual Charity for Love Thy Baby. Please go and visit the exhibit area and support our charity. Don’t forget to call the hotel at 713-974-1000 and book your room. We need you to stay at the conference hotel to insure we meet our room block. The room rate is $110.00 a night with a complimentary breakfast buffet for up to 4 guests in your room. The rooms are going so quickly as possible book your room. I look forward to seeing you all in September! May the Good Lord continues to bless us all. I love you the members of T.P.H.C.C.A!

The following Regions Need Representatives…. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5E/W, 6W, 7 , 8 ,

The duties of region representatives is to Represent their respective regions
at all functions of the state association, such as Board of Directors’ meetings
and the annual business meeting. Each Regional Representative will put on
a Regional Workshop in their region annually. Regional Workshops are a
membership drive as well as a fundraiser. Since we would like to see mem-
bers receive other benefits, all Regional Workshops should be scheduled be-
fore May 31, unless approved by the President in advance. (See additional
information under Regional Workshop Guidelines)
