Step 2 Remove the lid from the supplied NoToil® Filter Oil can.

Step 1 Remove the metal frame.

Warning about Filter Oil:Contents Under Pressure. Do not use near fire, heat or while smoking. D O N O T P U N C T U R E O R INCINERATE. Store at temperatures below 120° F (48° C). Use only under well ventilated conditions. Avoid spraying in eyes. KEEP OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN. Avoid prolonged contact with skin. In case o f c o n t a c t w i t h e y e s , fl u s h thoroughly with water. Contains isopropanol. If swallowed INDUCE VOMITING. Get immediate medical attention. Use only as directed. Intentional misuse by deliberately concentrating and inhaling the contents can be harmful or fatal.

Preparing the NoToil® Foam Air Filter For Use

Step 4. . . and install the white one.

Step 3 Remove the red nozzle from the can . . . .

Step 5 Shake the can vigorously for about 10 seconds.

Tech Tip 2 There are spare nozzles in the lid of the can.

Step 6 Place the foam filter on a cloth and apply a even coat of the supplied Filter Oil on the filter.

Step 8SQUEEZE the filter to evenly distribute the oil throughout the entire filter. There should be enough oil in the filter that it will run out when squeezed. If it does NOT run out, apply more oil. If it does run out, continue squeezing until all the excess oil runs out.

Step 7 Apply filter oil to the other side of the filter as well.

Warning: This should be done in a well vented room. Odors can become strong.

Caution!Do NOT remove excess oil by wringing (or twisting) the foam. Wringing (twisting) can damage the foam.

Step 9 Let the filter air dry for at least 30 minutes before use.

Step 10After drying, replace the metal frame.

Step 12 Loosen the smaller hose clamp using slip-joint pliers as shown.

Step 11 Loosen the large inlet duct hose clamp using a 10mm socket or standard screwdriver.

Step 14Disconnect the airflow sensor wiring harness by releasing the clip with a pick tool and. . . . .

Removing the Old Filter

Step 13 Disconnect the small hose from the air cleaner box.

Step 16 Release all 4 of the air cleaner clips.

Step 15 . . . . unplugging the connector.

Step 18 Disconnect the upper air cleaner housing from the large inlet air duct.

Step 17 Lift up on the upper air cleaner housing.

Tech Tip 19If dirt and trash is found in the lower air cleaner box, we recommend vacuuming it out.

Step 19 Remove the old air filter.

Step 21 Place the upper air cleaner box back in position.

Note: Do not clamp it down yet.

Step 20 Place the NoToil® air filter squarely on the air cleaner box. Be sure it is centered as close as possible.

Step 22While pushing down on the upper air filter box, snap each of the 4 clips into place.

Tech Tip 21 Be sure all the edges of the foam are tucked in the filter box all the way around. Check all 4 corners and sides.

Installing the Foam Filter

Step 24 Reconnect the air flow sensor.

Step 23 Reconnect the large inlet duct and tighten the clamp.

Note: If there is not enough movement in the large inlet duct to make this connection, it may be necessary to make this connection before securing the 4 clamps.

Step 25 Reconnect the small inlet hose and secure the clamp.

Step 27 Fill a pan or bucket with 3 to 4 inches of warm tap water.

Step 26 Remove the NoToil® Filter as shown in Steps 11 through 19.

Step 29Agitate the water by hand until the powder is devolved.

Servicing the NoToil Filter After Use

Step 28 Add 1/4 cup of the supplied NoToil® Filter Cleaner powder.

Step 31 Place the filter in the water . . . .

Step 30 Remove the frame from the filter.

Step 33Once the filter is clean, squeeze out the excess cleaning solution.

Caution: Do not wring out the filter by twisting. Filter damage will result.

Step 32 . . . and agitate until the filter is clean.

Step 35 Squeeze out as much water as possible.

Note: If the filter is not clean enough, repeat Steps 27 through 35.

Step 34 Rinse out any remaining cleaning solution by running warm tap water over the filter until the water appears clean.

Step 37Once the filter is dry, apply the filter oil as explained in Steps 2 through 10.

Step 36 Let the filter air out until completely dry.

Step 38 Then reinstall the filter as shown in Steps 20 through 25.
