Reactions 1451 - 11 May 2013 Testosterone Facial acne in a child: case report A constitutionally tall boy developed facial acne while receiving treatment with testosterone. The boy started receiving testosterone 250mg weekly at 12.1 years of age [route not stated]. At that time, his bone age corresponded to 13.6 years, and his differential diagnosis was familial tall stature. He received testosterone for a total of 14 months, during which time he was compliant to treatment, and experienced very mild facial acne [time to reaction onset and outcome not stated]. Author comment: "The child was compliant to [testosterone] medication and the side effects experienced were very mild, mainly in the form of facial acne." Nasrat GH, et al.
