Talent Management

In the past years, TM mostly focused on recruitment, performance assessment and transition. However, AIESEC Taiwan need to develop TM system more. Since AIESEC Taiwan expects to make our performance and impact sustainable, it’s very important to improve the member quality by developing TM system in a more structured way.

In 1011 term, one of AIESEC Taiwan national focus area is “Provide High Quality of AIESEC Experience”. As the role to ensure AIESEC Experience quality, TM function focus on X+LR to provide more complete AIESEC Experience for members. This term, we deliver X+LR message during recruitment to let new members have the concept that X and taking leadership role are key elements of their AIESEC Experience. Be-sides, for experienced members, we promote X+CEEDership opportunities to them. Let them know more about operation of other countries, and motivate them to apply leader-ship role . For returnee, we use their experience to attract others and also provide op-portunities for them to involve LC operation. For members who will go to X in 2011 win-ter vacation, MC open some teams to provide leadership role during X. Also the output of these teams will contribute AIESEC Taiwan operation and X quality.

This term, based on LC need in different duration, MC design national conference cycle. Especially, it is the first year that AIESEC Taiwan hold TtT (Train the Trainer) and “Trainee Conference”. About TtT, it is one focus of leadership development part. We want to cultivate more trainers, and then build up more complete training system of AIESEC Taiwan. About trainee conference, the purpose is to assist trainees to know more about Taiwan culture and AIESEC operation. Also build up the network between LC to trainees and trainees to trainees. It makes AIESEC Taiwan learning environment more diverse.

OGX- DT ET

Through these years, DT keeps having massive growth in both TN and EP side globally. It became the main focus of exchange program in more and more countries, from AP (India, MoC, Malaysia, Indonesia, The Philippines) to Africa (Ghana, Nigeria, Kenya) Then we can see from the performance, CEE countries( Turkey, Russia, Ukraine), IGN( Brazil, Venezuela, Colombia) are having great ambition to overtake the first place from AP.

To unleash AP countries potential and show the world how Taiwan growth in unique ways, 1011 AIESEC TAIWAN pioneered in X+L initiative, create Global Leadership Program to encourage AIESECers complete AIESEC experience. Currently in AIESEC Taiwan, from January 1st to December 24th 2010, we achieved 344 X+L raises out of total 359 raises and 48 X+L realizations out of total 279 realizations under DT program, which means more than 90% of Taiwanese EPs will have leadership experience before internship.

Furthermore, DT is now more and more valued among youth in Taiwan. From campus to NGOs and Corporates, there is a huge possibility to implement DT into HR training system. Therefore, LCs can develop their unique market and driving higher result and make more impact on the society.

On the other hand, ET is one of the exchange types that is not sustainable in Taiwan. 10 ET realizations are mainly realized in AP (India, Sri Lanka), CEE (Turkey, Russia, Ukraine) and IGN (Colombia, Guatemala). The average realization duration is 30 weeks. We can see the high potential in Graduate students, NCCU, NTU, NTNU, WZU and SYU can put more effort on creating ET EP raising model.

DT - Focus Area

1. Diversify EP sources in youth market including NGOs and Corporates.

2. X+L: Global Leadership Program

3. Initiate new country partnerships to diverse the DT realization countries.

4. National quality board set up to maintain the exchange quality.

These three objective core values will be our guideline to design our project. Until now we develop Education of Sustainability development issue in remote area, diversity community empowerment, indigenous culture promotion, HIV/AIDS prevention. Currently there is a need to ensure the long-term financial sustainability of the projects and to brand projects in Taiwan within global AIESEC network, get more media exposure in Taiwan through projects and find out more external to be the financial project partner and issue learning partner of AIESEC Taiwan.

1. National Project based on product positioning to drive up X

• Using external resource to build up our project completion.

Analyze past three years data to sum up our S.T.P, and then consulted with government, professor, and company. From this we have two objectives. 1. Making more correct positioning. 2. Using their resource to find our more opportunity.

• Develop new market

Based on our core issue to develop new market. This year we develop indigenous culture, community, and Taiwan traditional culture promotion.

• PR event and info-session to drive more exchange

In this year we held lots of info-session which focus on potential TN to drive up X and public relationship events like AIESEC-SCB HIV project. Through these events, we can attract reporter and media to help us exposure to public to make our branding image embed their insight.

2. Completed high quality AIESEC Taiwan project

• High quality X for TN

In order to make sure our quality, we develop 3 steps to maintain and build up our trust to TN.

-Before X: Consulting with TN to come out suitable JD for trainees and communicate with Trainees to ask them prepare for JD before they arrive Taiwan.

-During X: We held Trainee conference to strengthen their right mindset and understand Taiwan culture and environment. Besides, we will do evaluation once two week.

-After X: Do the evaluation and closing report to analyze this X

• Building up country partnership and investment to confirm with supplier

We try to build up more cy partnerships from AP and WENA region to make our

matching process much smooth, and ensure we have the enough EP supply to make

realization happen. Besides, we also invest CEEDership to drive other country’s EP supply to make sure that we have high quality EP.

• CRM and knowledge management.

We use salesforce to manage our account, which maintain our relationship with our stakeholder and use 4share to let everyone can share their good case to others.

ICX

Main Focus for 1011 ICX

The Main focus for ICX this year is to build up ICX knowledge base and retention rate. Focus industries on Technology area and companies wishing to expand to the international market. This is done through the strategies below.

Consistent Branding to our Stakeholders

- The way we sell, proposals we use, the message we deliver is consistent throughout the whole country to ensure that the message in which externals are receiving is the same message.

CRM

As salesforce has been relatively new to AIESEC Taiwan. This year is also focused on making sure that we are using salesforce effectively to ensure that proper CRM and consistency is maintained throughout the database.

Regional market Segmentation

Understanding that each part of Taiwan North, Middle and South have different external markets and creating different segments in Taiwan to help the LC’s to create market segmentation together.

Effective Raising

It can be easy to raise a TN in Taiwan, but what is harder is whether we can raise TN that can be matched. Previously we have had TNs on the system which are extremely hard to match. This is to ensure that each TN that is raised can me matched quickly and effectively. It is also to ensure that the ratio between cold calls, meetings and rais-ing is lowered.

External Relations

1011 Functional Focus Area & Main Strategy

ER Functional Focus Area for 1011 is centered on financial sustainability through diverse AIESEC Experience products and services. There are three main strategies for this: Product Development -> Sales (MC Sales; LC Sales Education) -> Account Management (MC and LC Mutually Supportive).

1011 Functional KPI & Actual Number (until Nov. 24)

KPI 1+Goal: 30% of revenue generated by all LCs comes from selling national products. Actual: 0%

KPI 2+Goal: TWD 1,500,000 raised for MC by MC. Actual: TWD 0.

KPI 3+Goal: 5 partners involved in Project Bridging the Digital Gap. Actual: 0.

Functional LC Ranking/Cluster

Due to the overall state of ER in 1011, it is not possible to provide an LC ER ranking/cluster based on standard and quantifiable criteria. More data will become available later in the year and further analysis shall be conducted according to the new discoveries. Here is a brief overview of LC ER: LC ER in AIESEC Taiwan combines Sales, Account Management, Alumni Relations, Communications and Campus Relations. Every LC will have a different focus according to the LC plan and reality. Normally, LC ER has heavy emphasis on External Communications with direct contribution to LC activities and indirect contribution to MC activities.

1011 Alumni Development:

In 1011, the AC Manager on MC plays a critical role to link the AIESEC Alumni Club (AAC) and the current AIESEC Taiwan. The AAC hosts monthly Alumni gathering and other social/networking events. AAC and MC have become much closer and both parties have realized the importance of working together. There has been significant progress on the AAC database, but LC Alumni databases remain problematic both in raw data and conversion of data to useful information. MC Alumni relations have improved, but the status of LC Alumni relations has not changed much. This is expressed in increased number of MC company meetings with Alumni companies (alumni is an employee or senior manager) and referrals from Alumni. In conclusion, Alumni are critically important for lead generation and sales on MC level.

Communication
