Varsity Tutors was born out of the educational experiences of our founder and CEO, Chuck Cohn. In high school, private tutoring helped him move from an F to an A+ in honors geometry. But it also paired him with a French tutor who didn’t speak great English. And sometimes, it was just too di"cult to find tutoring in time to make a di!erence.

That experience continued as Chuck struggled to find access to high-quality tutoring for one of his courses at Washington University in St. Louis. One night, he had an epiphany—great tutoring is only e!ective if you have reliable access to the right tutor for your situation.

With that revelation in mind, and a whole lot of hustle, Chuck built Varsity Tutors—a company that combines highly-credentialed experts with an advanced technology platform dedicated to live, personalized instruction.

The company was founded in 2007 and has helped more than 150,000 students since inception. The company has o"ces in St. Louis, MO, Seattle, WA, and Tempe, AZ and has 650 employees.

CURRICULUM DETAILS

Brian Galvin, who has more than 15 years of test prep expertise and scored in the 99th percentile on the ACT, adjusts the curriculum to tailor each class to enrollees' needs

Teaching assistants in the classes allow students to ask questions and receive answers in real time

Classes consist of ten sessions, each 2.5 hours in length, and are timed to sync with major test dates throughout the year for a total of 25 hours of live instruction

Classes entail live and interactive instruction, weekly homework, and two to three full-length practice tests

Classes ongoing to match up with test dates
