Special Projects

I was tasked with growing the footprint of stores in the Eastern and Western Cape, this was from doing market research to completion and grand opening of the store. Experience gained was as follows

• Doing comprehensive Market research. • Scouting all towns in EC & WC for potential sites.• Liaising and negotiating with prominent property owners and agents.• Negotiating leases and rentals and terms on the lease.• Signing off floor plans once store layout had been drawn up.• Oversee the progress on the shop fitters and builders in this phase.• Problem solve any major or minor setbacks as they arise.• Manage deadlines with the project, hold contractors to their deadline or would

impose penalties.• Once store fully complete, (shop fitting, Signage, computer system, telephone) sign

off as completed. • Source staff and train accordingly.• Organise and plan the Store opening date and promotion, marketing and advertising.• Dealing with contractors on snag lists, setting deadlines to be completed.• Deal with any problems that may arise in the new store, with "IT" or Telephone

Terence started with JD Group in 2000 as a Branch Manager for Joshua Doore William Moffat PE. Within a year’s time he was promoted to a bigger store in Green Acres PE. In 2003 he was once again promoted to Main Str PE. During 2004 Terence took a transfer to Tokai in Cape Town on request of the company.

In 2006 Terence was promoted as Regional Manager for the Garden Route Region managing 9 stores. This he managed very successfully and was promoted in 2008 to the biggest area in Joshua Doore that included the whole of the Eastern Cape and Garden Route. During the periods 2008, 2009 and 2010 Terence was recognized for his efforts and achievements as Area Manager and received the accolade of “Area Manager of the Year” at the Annual Awards.

During 2010 Terence was promoted to General Manager for the Ops Division 4. Here he was very successful and was once again recognized at the company’s Annual Awards as “Top General Manager” of the Year 2011. Terence proved to be the driving force in every environment he worked in. His energy and passion for the business washed over to his team and this created highly motivated and engaged employees. He has the ability to spot talent and opportunity this making him a leader in all aspects.

In 2014 Terence’s continued good performance was rewarded by a promotion to Operations Executive in charge of 89 stores and 10 Area Managers.

During a restructuring in 2015 Terence’s job description changed to Regional Operations Manager still overseeing 89 branches and 10 Area Managers.

Terence was retrenched in 2016.
