So what is the secret of taking eye-catching Nature photographs? Well, as true for every type of Art, Photography is something which you want to master. Knowledge, practice, imagination and a high-quality Camera is what you need most of the time.

CameraCamera

So which Camera? Perhaps it is Canon, Nikon, Sony, Fuji or Pentax. They all manufacture good quality cameras. So decide the Camera which fits your budget and into your bag. Digital SLRs feature exchangeable lens. They all will come with kit lens which is normally about 17-55mm 2.8-3.5f. The same location can look different in different part of the day depending on the daylight, presence or absence of cloud, sand or humidity in the air. So see the light and evaluate it in your mind. If you see the light in the morning, it will have a temperate golden or yellow tenor. Noon is bright through a deep shade or if the climate is sandy making it less eye-catching for photo shoots, it will make a smog; evening or afternoon light will be reddish-yellow or red. So being able to feel and see the light and deciding your scenery subject or theme based on the lights existing is something you need to study and follow.

Once you decide the area, for example, a forest or a valley, you should walk around as much as probable to discover different attractive locations or spots of great natural beauty. Once you recognize those places, you may be capable of imaging some attractive work of art in your mind before taking photographs.

Taking notes is a good habit for scenery photographers. The note should consist of day, time of the year, explanation of the place and landscape, part of the country and the subject of the photos. Also, note should consist of the technical feature of the Camera and the shooting information. Next time, you can evaluate them and find out your deficiency and find out how to get the best out of a condition.

Compose Your ShotCompose Your Shot

Composing scenery or nature photography takes a lot of imagination and also good observing capability. Sometimes, getting close or far from a subject brings out the best of the subject and its surroundings. For example, if you see a flower, you may like to get close to it to take a close-up or you may also consist of the surrounding bushes or trees to generate interesting perspective. The same is true for taking peaks, rivers or valley etc.

Use TripodUse Tripod

Using Tripod is a good habit, particularly when you are taking photos in low light or photos of a fast moving object. For low light photography, you may have to apply the shutter speed like 1/50 or higher. If you don't use Tripod in these incidents, you will surely end up blurring your picture. So carry a Tripod whenever possible. Try carbon fiber Tripods instead of metal one as these are lightweight and easier to carry.
