    follow their instructions.The decision on whether to conduct a

    search, evacuate or take sheltershould be made in coordination withthe emergency services.

    If you believe a bomb is on thepremises, evacuate without waitingfor emergency services

    Employees who have not been trained inproper search techniques , should notsearch a facility for a bomb or othersuspicious device.The organization should be prepared andready to provide detailed floor plans toemergency services to assist them insearch process.Ask the employees whether the object inquestion is their own equipment, storage,new arrival of machinery or all together anew unknown object.

    If a device or suspect package isidentified within the premises isolatethe area around the item for at least1,000 ft (310 m) in every direction

    Many law enforcement agencies andbomb disposal agencies recommendevacuation of distances of at least1,000 ft and preferably 3,000 ft(930m) from a suspect device due topossibility of flying debris.

    Most terrorists do not place bombsdeep within facilities, but atentrances, on roads or in car parks,

    and car parks adjacent to thebuildingsthe locations most oftenused for fire evacuations.
