What are Terpenes? Terpenes are a large and diverse class of aromatic organic compounds. Each cannabis strain has a unique composition of terpenes that give the flower its unique fragrance and flavour. Terpene production in plants is an adaptation to repel herbivores and attract pollinators. Scientists have shown that terpenes interact synergistically with cannabinoids in what is known as the “entourage effect” enhancing the medicinal benefit.
