PRICING All prices are per person in Canadian dollars unless otherwise noted. GST, HST and provincial taxes are applicable on tours as noted. INCREASE IN TOUR COSTS Merit reserves the right to increase tour prices in the event of an increase in government and airport authority imposed taxes and fees, fuel and currency surcharges, supplier price increases, or any other cost increase. If the increase is greater than 7% of the tour cost, the client may cancel the booking within seven days of notification and obtain a full refund. PAYMENT SCHEDULE A deposit of $750 per person is required at the time of booking. Full and final payment is due 90 days prior to departure. Deposit requirements for some tours may vary. You will be advised of such cases at time of booking. LIABILITY Merit cannot assume responsibility for any costs incurred for any travel arrangements purchased separately from the Merit tour. Merit’s responsibility shall extend only to the provisions of advice as to industry-standard or supplier recommended connections and check-in times. Provided Merit supplies such advice, they shall not be responsible for missed connections or departures, regardless of the cause. TRAVEL PROTECTION PLAN (INSURANCE) Trip cancellation and interruption insurance, medical and hospital insurance, baggage insurance, and various additional insurances are available and HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. If you choose not to purchase insurance, you are required to sign an Insurance Waiver Form. Note that if you choose not to purchase insurance, you are fully liable for any and all penalties imposed as stated under Cancellation Policy on this page. Please speak to your representative at the time of making reservations about insurance. REFUNDS The nature of travel involves risks and unpredictable weather and thus Merit cannot assure any departure or arrival times at any point of an itinerary. Your right to receive a refund is limited. There will be no discounts or monies refunded for any missed or unused services. Merit reserves the right to cancel the tour for any reason. Should this occur, a full refund will be made to the traveller. CANCELLATION POLICY While Merit will do its utmost to minimize any penalties charged, there are irrecoverable costs associated with your tour. The following penalties will be considered the costs incurred with cancellation: (A) 90 days or more prior to departure: Loss of total deposit. (B) 89 – 60 days prior to departure: Loss of 50% of total tour cost. (C) 59 days or less prior to departure: Loss of 100% of total tour cost. Cancellation penalties for some tours will vary and there may be additional penalties associated with the airfare. If so, these policies will be noted separately at time of booking and will prevail. TOUR CHANGES We reserve the right to substitute itineraries, hotels, airlines or vessels due to conditions beyond our control. In such cases we will do everything possible to ensure the locations visited, the excursions taken and the hotels offered are similar to the ones originally planned. Any change to itineraries will not result in eligibility for a refund. REVISION FEE Changes to your tour reservation might not be possible. Should you request a change and we are able to accommodate it, you will be subject to any charges imposed by the airline or tour suppliers. In addition, we reserve the right to charge a $50 revision fee for any change made aſter the deposit is paid. A change in name or departure date may constitute a cancellation, and the corresponding penalties may apply. PERSONAL DOCUMENTATION All passengers travelling internationally must travel with a passport. Many countries require the passport to be valid for 6 months beyond the traveller’s return date. Visas may be required for some destinations. It is the passenger’s responsibility to obtain at the passenger’s expense, all documentation required by all relevant authorities. In the event that the passenger does not possess the correct documentation, the air carrier has the right to refuse passage. Day 1 | Nov. 13, 2015 DEPART TORONTO TO HANOI (VIA HONG KONG)

Today, board your Cathay Pacific Flight to Hanoi, Vietnam. Cathay Pacific flight CX829 departs at 1a.m. arrives Hong Kong at 6 a.m. connecting with flight KA5297 departs Hong Kong at 845 a.m. Arrives Hanoi at 09:50 a.m.

Day 2 | Nov. 14, 2015 HANOI ARRIVAL (D)

You are met on arrival at Noi Bai Airport, and transferred to the hotel for check in. Visit Vietnam’s first university, the thousand-year-old Temple of literature. In the afternoon tour around the Old Quarter streets by cyclo and discover the local peoples’ life. This evening enjoy a welcome dinner at a local restaurant with your group!

Day 3 | Nov. 15, 2015 HANOI – HOA LU – TAM COC (B, L)

After breakfast drive to Tam Coc and enjoy a boat trip on the river through “the Ha Long on land” surrounded by the quiet and peaceful landscape of rice fields and limestone formations, to visit the three grottoes of Tam Coc. On the way back to Hanoi, stop at Hoa Lu, the sight of Vietnam’s capital during the 10th and 11th century. Visit Dinh and Le Temples that were built in the 17th century. Today’s dinner is on your own so that you can explore the local cuisine.

Day 4 | Nov. 16, 2015 HANOI – HALONG BAY (B, L, D)

Depart Hanoi for Halong Bay where you arrive around noon. Board a traditional wooden junk boat and begin your exploration of magical Halong Bay, a UNESCO listed region with thousands of beautiful limestone peaks and islets. A fresh seafood lunch and dinner will be served on the boat. Overnight on board the comfortable and charming junk boat.

Day 5 | Nov. 17, 2015 HALONG BAY – HANOI (B, L, D)

Wake up early in the morning to enjoy the aquamarine water of the bay at its best with an early swim! After breakfast the junk boat continues to cruise quietly through the spectacular limestone formations of Halong Bay. You will be amazed by this isolated bay’s spectacular and unique islands!! Lunch will be served on board and then you will disembark and return to Hanoi. This evening enjoy a Water Puppets Show, showcasing traditional Vietnamese art.

Day 6 | Nov. 18, 2015 HANOI – HUE (FLIGHT) (B, L, D)

After breakfast, visit the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, a traditional stilt house, and the Ho Chi Minh Museum, with the reserved One-Pillar Pagoda.

Transfer to Noi Bai airport for your flight to Hue. Upon arrival in Hue, visit the Imperial Citadel and the Royal Mausoleum of Tu Duc.

Day 7 | Nov. 19, 2015 HUE – HOIAN (B, L, D)

After breakfast, enjoy a boat trip on the Perfumes River and then visit the Thien Mu Pagoda. Stroll in the Dong Ba market (if time permits). Then travel to Hoian through Da Nang and enjoy a scenic 4-hour drive via Hai Van Pass. Enjoy spectacular views of the mountains and the sea, idyllic beaches and quaint villages (or we can choose the shorter way by driving through the tunnel). Visit the Cham Museum and Marble Mountains with beautiful grottoes and temples before arriving in Hoian.

Day 8 | Nov. 20, 2015 HOIAN (B, L, D)

We will have a morning city tour of Hoian, which was originally one of the major trading centers of Southeast Asia in the 16th century. Visit Hoian town with its low tiled houses of Chinese appearance and the Japanese covered bridge with its brightly painted temples and pagodas making it one of Vietnam’s most delightful places. Your afternoon is at leisure to enjoy free time to explore the beach or for shopping.

Day 9 | Nov. 21, 2015 HOIAN – DANANG – FLIGHT TO HO CHI MINH CITY (B, L, D)

After breakfast, transfer to the airport of Da Nang for your flight to Ho Chi Minh City, Saigon. Upon arrival you will transfer to the city center and your centrally located hotel for check in. Enjoy an afternoon city tour of Ho Chi Minh City including a visit to the Notre Dame Cathedral, the Old Post Office, a lacquer-ware factory, and the bustling Chinatown with Binh Tay Market. The Thien Hau Pagoda is a sight not to be missed!

Day 10 | Nov. 22, 2015 SAIGON – TAY NINH – CU CHI TUNNELS (B, L)

In the morning, depart for Tay Ninh, the headquarters of Cao Dai region founded on 1926. Upon arrival we attend the fantastic mid-day Mass when the followers fill the hall wearing colored robes, a symbol of the curious combination of Confucianism, Taoism, Christianity and Buddhism. In the afternoon, travel about 30km northwest of Ho Chi Minh City to Cu Chi town. The highlight of the day is the Cu Chi Tunnels which were used as the base from which the Vietnamese mounted their operations of the Tet Offensive in 1968. The Cu Chi tunnels consist of more than 200 kilometers of underground tunnels. This main axis system has many branches connecting to underground hideouts, shelters, and entrances to other tunnels. The tunnels are between 0.5 to 1 meter wide, just enough for a person to crawl along. Return back to Ho Chi Minh City. Today’s dinner is on your own to explore the local cuisine.

Day 11 | Nov. 23, 2015 SAIGON – MEKONG DELTA – HO CHI MINH CITY (B, L, D)

In the morning, travel to My Tho. Take a boat tour downstream to Ben Tre, where you have the opportunity to discover the local people’s life in Mekong Delta with popcorn and a pop-rice workshop, rice paper mill, coconut candy mill and fruit gardens and a bike ride or transfer by horse carriage through the village. Lunch will be served at a local restaurant followed by a fruit tasting. Return back to Ho Chi Minh City.

Day 12 | Nov. 24, 2015 HO CHI MINH CITY – FLIGHT TO SIEM REAP – ANGKOR WAT (B, L, D)

Free time in the morning until your departure to the airport for your flight to Siem Reap. Upon arrival in Siem Reap, you will explore the ancient Angkor City from the Southern Gate of Angkor Thom to the World Wonder of the Angkor Wat Temples. End your day with a spectacular view of the sunset from Phnom Bakheng Hill in late afternoon. Your evening is at leisure.

Day 13 | Nov. 25, 2015 SIEM REAP – ANGKOR TEMPLES (B, L, D)

In the morning, explore the Khmer Temples from the early Angkor period. Visit the Preah Ko, Bakong and Lolei temples, dating back from the 9th and 10th centuries. In the afternoon, continue your tour to the graceful Khmer Temple of Shiva, built in the 11th century. Return to town with a stop at the three-tiered temple-hill of Pre Rup. You’ll also have a chance to see the Bantey Kdei with its rarely seen sculpted female deities, the Lake of Srah Srang, and the impressive Ta Prohm Temple, which is dramatically surrounded by the Jungle.

Day 14 | Nov. 26, 2015 SIEM REAP – DRIVE TO PHNOM PENH (B, L, D)

Your morning is at leisure. Then we will drive by coach to Phnom Penh (approx.5 hours drive), the capital of Cambodia, and home of Angkor Wat one of the greatest religious monuments in the world!! Check into your hotel upon arrival.

Day 15 | Nov. 27, 2015 PHNOM PENH FULL DAY EXCURSION (B, L, D)

Full day excursion in Phnom Penh. In the morning we will visit the Silver Pagoda, the National Museum, the Royal Palace and the Independent Monument. Then we will visit the Wat Phnom and the Central Market.

Day 16 | Nov. 28, 2015 PHNOM PENH – TORONTO (VIA HONG KONG) (B)

After breakfast transfer to the airport for your return flight home. Or take an optional extension in Hong Kong. KA Flight 207 departs Phnom Penh at

11:50 a.m. Arrives Hong Kong at 15:20 p.m. Connecting with Cathay Pacific Flight 826 departs Hong Kong at 18:15 arrives Toronto at 20:10 (same day).

Optional Hong Kong 2 nights Extension: CAD$495 per person double occupancy or CAD $695 per person single occupancy.

Enjoy the morning at leisure before you are transferred to the Hong Kong airport to board your flight to Canada. (by airport shuttle bus).
