FREIGHT TERMSAll shipments will be made F.O.B. shipping point.No freight allowance on straight lengths of any 8”, 10”and 12” suction hose. However, the dollar value can be used to obtain paid freight on other ordered items.Freight prepaid on $2,500 on all combined products ofJason Industrial, Inc., including all industrial rubberproducts, all PVC hose, and all couplings andaccessories to destinations within the continental U.S.Freight Prepaid on $1,000 net on all couplings only.Orders with different numbers and dates may not becombined to make freight allowance.Prepaid orders requiring immediate delivery that mustbe shipped from different Jason locations may besubject to a freight surcharge. Such determination willbe made at the time of order.Backorders will be shipped in the most practical fashionwith charges consistent with our freight policy established with the original order.

ACCEPTANCE, ALTERATION ANDCANCELLATION OF ORDERSOrders for other than standard items or standard lengths maynot be cancelled after purchase has been committed, production scheduled or any costs incurred.RETURN OF DEFECTIVE MERCHANDISEDefective or failed material to be held at the buyer’s premisesuntil authorization has been granted by seller to return or dispose of merchandise. Merchandise to be returned for finalinspection must be returned Freight Prepaid in the most economical way. LIMITED WARRANTYThe merchandise or products sold or distributed by Jason Industrial, Inc. are warranted to our customers to be free from defects in material and

workmanship at the time of shipment by us. All warranty claims shall be made within 90 days after we have shipped the merchandise. Our liability hereunder is limited to the purchase price of any merchandise proved defective, or, at our option, to the replacement of such merchandise uponits authorized return to us.

HOSE SELECTION

It is important to have all the required information to select the proper hose for any hose application.

In most cases you must know:1. Size - Inside diameter and length.

Hose has a limited life and the user must be alertto signs of impending failure, particularly whenthe conditions of service include high workingpressures and/or the conveyance or containmentof hazardous materials.

Hose should not be subjected to any form ofabuse in service. It should be handled with rea-sonable care. Hose should not be dragged oversharp or abrasive surfaces unless specificallydesigned for such service. Care should be takento protect hose from severe end loads for whichthe hose or hose assembly were not designed.Hose should be used at or below its rated work-ing pressure; any changes in pressure should bemade gradually so as not to subject the hose toexcessive surge pressures. Hose should not bekinked or run over by equipment. In handlinglarge hose, dollies should be used whenever pos-sible; slings or handling rigs, properly placed,should be used to support heavy hose used in oilsuction and discharge service.

Storage

Rubber hose products in storage can be affectedadversely by temperature, humidity, ozone, sun-light, oils, solvents, corrosive liquids and fumes,insects, rodents and radioactive materials.

The appropriate method for storing hosedepends to a great extent on its size (diameterand length), the quantity to be stored, and theway in which it is packaged. Hose should not bepiled or stacked to such an extent that the weightof the stack creates distortions on the lengthsstored at the bottom. Since hose products varyconsiderably in size, weight, and length, it is notpractical to establish specific recommendationson this point. Hose having a very light wall willnot support as much hose as could a hose havinga wire reinforcement. Hose which is shipped incoils or bales should be stored so that the coilsare in a horizontal plane.

Whenever feasible, rubber hose products shouldbe stored in their original shipping containers,especially when such containers are woodencrates or cardboard cartons which provide someprotection against the deteriorating effects of oil,solvents and corrosive liquids; shipping containersalso afford some protection against ozone andsunlight.

The ideal temperature for the storage of rubberproducts ranges from 50° to 70°F (10-21°C)with amaximum limit of 100°F (38°C). If stored below32°F (O°C), some rubber products become stiffand would require warming before being placedin service. Rubber products should not be storednear sources of heat, such as radiators, baseheaters, etc., nor should thy be stored under con-ditions of high or low humidity, or high ozone asnear electric motors.

Certain rodents and insects will damage rubberhose products, and adequate protection fromthem should be provided.

To avoid the adverse effects of high ozone con-centration, rubber hose products should not bestored near electrical equipment that may gener-ate ozone or be stored for any lengthy period ingeographical areas of high known ozone concen-tration. Exposure to direct or reflected sunlight -even through windows should also be avoided.Uncovered hose should not be stored under fluo-rescent or mercury lamps which generate lightwaves harmful to rubber.

Storage areas should be relatively cool and darkand free of dampness and mildew. Items shouldbe stored on a first in, first out basis, since evenunder the best conditions, an unusually longshelf life could deteriorate certain rubber prod-ucts.

Flexibility and minimum bend radius are important factors in hose design and selection if it isknown that the hose will be subjected to sharp curvatures in normal use. When bent at an angletoo sharp, hose may kink or flatten in the cross section. The reinforcement may also be undulystressed or distorted and the hose life shortened.

The radius is measured to the inside of the curvature.

Formula to determine minimum hose length given bend radius and degree of bend required:

A360° x 2 π B = L A = Angle of bend B = Given bend radius of hose

L = Minimum length of hose to make bend(Bend must be made equally along this portion of the hose)π = Pi 3.14

Example: To make a 60° bend at the hose’s rated minimum bend radius of 6-1/4 inch,

60360 x 2 x 3.14 x 6.25 = 6.54 iinch

Therefore the bend must be made over roughly 6-1/2 inches of hose length. The bend radius usedmust be equal to or greater than the rated minimum bend radius. Bending the hose to a smallerbend radius than the minimum may kink the hose and result in damage and early failure.

Application of Universal Crowfoot Air Hose Couplings

Universal crowfoot couplings are recommended to be used in the transfer of air and or water. The applicationshould be in an open system where the air or water is in motion (dynamic) and not in a closed pressurized (static)condition. This dynamic application involves continuous flow, therefore, back pressure would be relieved by thevery nature of the application. The applicable system should contain pressure relief valves to relieve any excesspressure. Safety clips and safety cables should be installed on either side of the coupling connection.

The rated, maximum working pressure of Universal Crowfoot Air Hose Couplings is 110 psi (at ambient temperature [70°F]) for all parts: HE, ME, FE.

Universal Air Hose Couplings should NEVER be used for steam service.

GROUND JOINT COUPLINGS

An all purpose coupling, the female ground joint consists of a MALE STEM, WING NUT and FEMALE SPUD.The female spud has NPT threads to accept the NPT threads of a rigid connection or male NPT nipple.Widely used for air, water or steam, the ground joint is secured with an interlocking clamp.

By replacing the female spud of a ground joint coupling with a double or male spud, hose to hose groundjoint connections or hose to rigid connections are simplified. Double spuds for hose to hose connections arethreaded NPS MALE X NPS MALE. (GJ wing nut is also NPS). For hose to rigid connection, the male spud isthreaded NPS MALE X NPT MALE.

SANDBLAST COUPLINGS

SANDBLAST HOSE COUPLINGS

There are three active sandblast system couplings; HOSE ENDS which are used to make hose to hose connectionsor hose to blast pot connections, NOZZLE HOLDERS that accept the male threaded end of a sandblast nozzle,and the THREADED POT END that is connected to the combination air and abrasive mix from the sandblast pot.All three are available in aluminum, brass, or new glass reinforced nylon.

HOSE ENDS are sleeve typecouplings that fit over the OD ofthe sandblast hose. They aresecured to the hose with woodscrews. Countersunk holes on thehose end ensure that the screwsfit correctly and will not besnagged while the hose is inoperation. Within the ID of thehose end is a corkscrew ridgethat helps to twist the couplingonto the hose and more impor-tantly, helps to minimize the forceof blow-back. Hose-to-hose orhose-to-pot connections aremade by the 2 lug crowfootdesign. No matter what the hosesize, the 2 log hose ends inter-change for common connections.

NOZZLE HOLDERS are sleevetype couplings, secured to thehose with wood screws and havethe same features as the sand-blast hose end. The exception isthat the end of the nozzle holderis NPT threaded to accept thesandblasting nozzle.

THREADED POT ENDS do notfit the hose, but rather are thread-ed (NPT or NPS) onto the sand-blast pot. Once properly threadedto the di3do (i)Tjdpe on the pot,the 2 lug crowfoot design cannow be connected to the 2 lugcrowfoot design of the hose end.Now the pot can supply mix tothe operator by way of the hoseto the sandblast nozzle.

SPIRAL DOUBLE BOLT CLAMPS

Clamps ( for corrugated hose) manufactured in either clockwise (right hand) orcounter clockwise (left hand) design, the spiral double bolt clamp fits between theconvolutions on corrugated hose. FOOT VALVES FOR WATER SUCTION HOSE

Foot valves are used on the submersed end of the water suction hose to preventthe pump from losing it's prime when shut down. The foot valve stops the waterfrom draining by a closing leather flapper gate. Each valve has a built in strainerthat prevents debris from entering during operation. All sizes have NPS threads andcomplete valves are painted red.
