OSB (Oriented Strand Board)

A panel product made of chips of wood that are glued and pressed into sheets, typically 4’x8’, used as sheathing. All strands of wood are oriented in the same direction - parallel with the face of the sheet. Also referred to as Chipboard.

Parging

A thin coat of plaster or cement mortar that is applied to masonry or concrete walls. The typical exterior finish where a basement wall meets grade.

Particleboard

Sheet material used for building cabinets, made from compressed sawdust and glues - with a “light” density and hardness. Always used as a core material with a laminate or veneer outer surface. May also be known as Fibreboard.

Pilot Hole
