Study Design: To answer this research question, I gathered data as follows: I asked 32 people at my workplace to participate in this study. They remained anonymous and I made sure to include if they are male or female. They answered two questions: How many days a week do they exercise for 30 minutes or more? And how many servings of fruits and vegetables do they eat daily? If they did not know an exact amount of servings I had them estimate. I included examples of what would count as a serving so that they had a better idea. I then took the results and used those to come up with a resolution. Purpose: The purpose of this project was to see if the amount of exercise by an individual is affected by the daily intake of fruits and vegetables.

Difficulties/Surprises: I did not have any difficulties collecting the data or assembling it all together. The only surprise is that I didn’t see much correlation between the two factors as I was collecting data.

Analysis: Well judging by the linear correlation coefficient there is quite a lack of correlation. It’s a very low percentage of correlation. It was a relatively small sample size, which could be part of the reason the correlation coefficient is so small.

Interpretation and Conclusions: From my sample and data it looks as though there is very little, if any, correlation between fruit and vegetable intake and exercise. However, I do not feel that I have actually answered the question. There are too many other factors that weren’t included that could have drastically affected the results, such as: age, disabilities, schedules, etc. It was also a very small sample size which doesn’t give a very accurate reading for a conclusion.
