Staffing

This term I have undertaken an executive review

process in addition to a nominated teacher transfer.

The staffing mix for 2020 has been strategically

crafted to drive clear improvements in the academic,

social and emotional wellbeing of students.

The three Assistant Principals (Louise Filan-Davis,

Alison Jackson and Julie Low) have a teaching load

of (0.4) Thursday and Friday. On those days where

they have been strategically funded to provide

support (0.6), Monday – Wednesday, the clear ex-

pectation and accountability is to:

Provide clear coaching, mentoring, & support to

teachers to improve explicit teaching of literacy

and numeracy

Monitor and evaluate teaching programs and

student work samples (fortnightly) to ensure

consistency and compliance with syllabus

expectations

Monitor student data (Reading, Writing,

Numeracy, Attendance and Wellbeing) across

classes, working with teachers to drive

improved outcome achievement

Monitor interventions to ensure students are

progressing in Reading, Writing and Numeracy

Lead staff professional learning in the explicit

and effective teaching of Reading/

Comprehension, Writing and Numeracy

Assist teachers in evidencing their practice

against Australian Professional Standards

Planning Days

The teachers of classes for 2020 will undertake a

day of strategic planning, class formation and

hand-over to ensure that the commencement

of 2020 is a seamless process. On each stage

planning day, teachers will be provided clear

plans for how they will address quality

curriculum delivery, wellbeing and reporting to

parents, so that there is a shared and consistent

approach.

Maintenance

Over the course of the next few weeks, the

school has some scheduled maintenance that

is being undertaken. We regret any

inconvenience that this may cause.

Student Leadership

I would like to thank the P&C for working with

me on the very challenging process of

counting student votes for the 2020 Student

Parliament. I wish to congratulate every person

that stood for election and look forward to

working alongside those new leaders soon to

be announced.

Student Reports

Teachers are currently examining student work

samples and student assessments over the period of

this semester in preparation for the formalised report

on each child’s academic progress, effort and

application.

Written reports will be sent home Friday 13

December 2019.
