Principal’s Message GymnasticsOur exci ng week started with students comple ng their
last session of gymnas cs for the term. Over the six
weeks the program introduced students to the
fundamentals of gymnas cs. Feedback from students
was posi ve. They enjoyed the new challenges and
experiences. All class teachers observed progress in
all students. Many grew in confidence, skills and
resilience.
LeichardtPSOn Tuesday morning we were very privileged to an
entertaining performance by the Leichardt Public School
Band as party of their South Coast Tour.
It was an entertaining performance full of popular or
well‐known songs. I had a conversa on with the Principal
of the Leichardt PS and complimented his students on
their talent and promo on of Public Educa on.
Thank you Leichardt Public School we appreciated and
were inspired by your performance.
ThreatenedSpeciesCompetition.Mrs Watson and Miss Leslie are feeling very proud a er
receiving some ela ng news today. The 3/4 students
entered the Shoalhaven Threatened Species Compe on
at the end of last term. The students all researched an
endangered animal and created an informa on report as
well as comple ng an artwork. These were all of a very
high standard and this has been acknowledged by the
Shoalhaven Council. Not only have we won first, second
and third prize, ten students also won books, three
students won gi cards and two others won pencil cases.
Well done Stage 2!
CelebrationDayWow what a day of celebra on! The students challenged
themselves on the obstacle course, enjoyed the local
beaches, tucked into a tasty lunch and cooled
themselves down with zooper doopers. In the a ernoon
a er all the excitement there was quiet me with an
a ernoon movie or cra . Today lots of parents

commented on how well the students slept last night
and lots of students commented “It was the best day
ever”.
Our visitors commented on the coopera ve behaviour

A very successful Day of Celebra on, made possible by the
outstanding commitment of the staff and the outstanding
behaviour of our students. A slideshow is on display in the
foyer.
FightCancerFoundationMrs Watson received a lovely le er today acknowledging
the school’s efforts in raising money for the Fight Cancer
Founda on. Our contribu on of $212 will help kids
con nue their educa on during treatment and recovery.

2020BusPassMoratoriumPeriod
Nowra Coaches has been advised that a review of the school free travel moratorium period, previously
8 weeks has now been reduced to 4 weeks at the start of each school year.
This will assist bus operators to manage student loadings and make changes to services much earlier in
the year as required.
Applica ons for 2020 opened 14 October 2019 so the earlier students register the be er.
Drivers will encourage students in the first 4 weeks to register as soon as possible to avoid being de‐
nied travel.
Nowra Coaches will commence prin ng of passes for all registered students mid January to ensure the
bulk of the passes are at the schools the first day of Term 1.

Once the student has been approved by Transport for NSW they can travel with the approval le er
un l such me as their pass arrives. Please note the drivers will s ll confirm their details with the office
un l the student is holding the physical bus pass.
Un l such me as the approval le er is received a fare must be tendered to use the service if it is a er
the ini al moratorium period of 4 weeks from start of Term 1.
If a student is denied school free travel by Transport for NSW due to living too close to the school, they
can purchase a pass from our office. The term/year pass fee for 2020 are below:‐
Term Pass $65
Year Pass $200
If a pass is lost, stolen or damaged a new pass can be purchased from our office. The fee in 2020 is
$15.00.
