Dear Parents and Carers, I hope this curriculum newsletter will provide you with valuable information about what your child will be learning in the coming term. I look forward to us working in partnership together. Kind Regards, Miss J. Auld Primary 6A – Term 4 Newsletter Health and Wellbeing We are looking forward to participating in our Health Week which will take place in May. We will work together to explore elements of a healthy lifestyle, as well as investigating substance misuse. Numeracy We will be investigating various aspects of shape work. Our daily challenges will continue to help us improve our multiplication tables recall and our mental maths skills. We will also be exploring money and finance as well as continuing to improve our problem solving skills. Science/Inter-Disciplinary Learning (IDL) We will be investigating aspects of Space and The Sea. P6A and P6B will be working together to explore these topics. Religious and Moral Education We will be learning about other world religions and in particular the 5 Pillars ofIslam. Literacy We continue to be enthusiastic about accessing a variety of reading materials via the Active Learn Primary website. We also have access to the school library every Thursday. We will continue to develop our French vocabulary In writing, we will be exploring imaginative writing, using interesting words and phrases to entertain the reader. We will be developing our presenting skills through personal talks. Technologies We will continue to develop our research and word processing skills this term as well as investigating internet safety We will also be exploring construction problem solving through STEM challenges.. Expressive Arts We are looking forward to presenting the P6 and P7 show ‘Let Loose’ at the start of term 4. This term we will be developing our skills in evaluating the work of others and providing constructive feedback on our observations. Remember you can help your child at home by practising multiplication tables and mental maths skills through oral games. encouraging them to read a variety of texts eg newspapers, magazines, comics, fiction and non fiction texts at home, online or at the library. discussing their learning with them and allowing them to share their new knowledge.

Primary 6A – Term 4 Newsletter

Health and Wellbeing

We are looking forward to participating in our Health Week which will take place in May.

We hope that the weather is nice this term as we develop our athletics skills.

Literacy

We continue to be enthusiastic about accessing a variety of reading materials via the Active Learn Primary website. We also have access to the school library every Thursday.
