The reviewers are here for 3-4 days evaluating our school, departing on Friday 1 st November. If you see the review officers in and around our school, please make them feel welcome, and don’t forget to tell them how wonderful your school is! Kamo Primary School Survey 2013 The Board of Trustees and school staff value the contribution you make to our school and as part of this we would appreciate your views on the survey which was sent out last week with the school newsletter. This survey will allow us to continue to develop the best possible learning environment for your children. The survey feedback will also inform our Strategic and Annual planning for 2014. It can also be found on our school website, and on the school Facebook page. We would like all surveys returned by Friday 15 th November please. All returned surveys will go in the draw to win a $100 Pak ‘N’ Save voucher. Completed surveys should be dropped in to the school office, thank you. Children Arriving Late to School We have been noticing that more and more children are arriving late to school in the mornings, sometimes up to 15-20 minutes late. We understand that in some circumstances, which are often unavoidable, children may be late, but in many instances, students are regularly late with no apparent reason. This is not only disruptive to the child who is late, but to the entire class. We ask parents and caregivers to be more vigilant in ensuring that your children arrive prior to the 8.55am bell, thank you. Using child restraints safely Currently New Zealand law requires all children under five years of age to use an approved child restraint appropriate for their age and size. Children aged between 5 and 7 must be secured in a restraint if one is available. These laws are changing on 1 st November 2013. Please see the changes below… From the 1 st November 2013 you must… Correctly secure your child in an approved child restraint – until their 7 th Birthday Correctly secure your child in an approved child restraint if one is available in the vehicle (and if not, in any child restraint or safety belt that is available). From their 7 th birthday until their 8 th birthday Children under the height of 148cm will need to use a booster seat when traveling in privately owned motor vehicles until their 7 th birthday. Jack is a Border Collie. He is cuddly and furry. He is good at bouncing, getting a frisbee and smelling too. Mrs Sparrow is tired because Jack keeps on biting the frisbee then just sitting down on the grass being lazy. Mrs Sparrow has to get it by herself. I want a Border Collie to.
