Dear Parents and Carers, Our inaugural Family Fun Day last Friday was an amazing success. Thank you to everyone who supported it so well. A huge thanks to the staff, P & C and students who assisted in organising and running the activities. It is great to get the community together in such a way. Today our Kinder, Years 1 and 2 students have travelled to Shepparton for a performance of Possum Magic. It should be a wonderful play of a fabulous story. Tomorrow we have a visit from the Billy Tea Bush Band. The students will be learning bush dancing during the day. The P&C will be providing a BBQ dinner at school from 5.30pm at a small cost, followed by a Bush Dance at the Community Hall from 6.30pm-8pm. Everyone is welcome to attend. This Friday the SRC is hosting Footy Colours Day, so come dressed in your favourite team’s colours. A gold coin donation for out of uniform is not required for this event. Congratulations to Margie Woods in the Canteen on achieving the Healthy School Canteen Certificate from NSW Health. She was presented with her certificate last week. Also congratulations to our Premier’s Spelling Bee representatives Adam Cottee, Paige Riedell, Sam Stillard and Ruby Noonan on their efforts at the zone final in Corowa last week, and to Tyler Schlink and Georgie Nelson on being awarded the Kiwanis Terrific Kids Award. This Friday is the last day of the term. School resumes on Tuesday 8th October. Please remember that the school grounds are enclosed land and if you do not have official approval to be on school grounds you are trespassing. Security and police make regular patrols. This week our PBL (Positive Behaviour for Learning) focus is to be Respectful, Safe and Responsible when using the toilets. We expect children to use the toilets respectfully, safely and responsibly at all times. John Francis, Principal

BPS Kitchen/Garden Thank you to Lyn, Mathew, Tara and Caroline who came in to help Linda and me in the kitchen each week and to assist in the garden. Thank you also to Nadine who has done the kitchen washing after every kitchen week this year. If anyone is interested in helping in the kitchen or garden (or both!) for Term 4, please return the slip below or email Mr Francis ([email protected]) or myself ([email protected]). We would love helpers to assist with small groups! If you are unable to come to school during kitchen garden times, you could help by doing the kitchen washing (once a fortnight) or by donating. Next term we would love to make some more preserves to sell at markets. We would appreciate donations of tomatoes or any fruit to make jams or relishes. Please contact the school if you are able to make a donation. Miss Karina Peake, Kitchen Coordinator
