Term 2 - Week 3 13th - 17th May 2019
Welcome to Term 2 Week 3!
Thank you to all the fathers who came along last Wednesday to help our P&C with their Mother’s Day
breakfast. It was great to see so many mums, grandmas, nannas and significant females come into school to
enjoy time with their special young ones. Thank you Steve Marshall for organising such a great team to help
this event run so smoothly.
Pick Up and Drop Off Zone
A reminder about vehicle access to our school and correct protocols when picking up and dropping off
students. Our school turning bay is a NO PARKING ZONE. This area is a thoroughfare and cars should be moving
through there as freely as possible. It is unsafe for vehicles to make U-turns in our school access road and our
turning bay provides a safe means for cars to turn. Please do not park in our turning bay restricting movement
for others.
Wood chip mulch
Over the past two holiday breaks we have had a large amount of mandatory tree works conducted at our
school. These works have left us with a huge pile of wood chip. If any parents would like any wood chip for
their gardens please contact the school office to arrange convenient times for pick up.
P&C Meeting
P&C will meet tonight at 6.30pm in our school staffroom. Everyone is welcome to come along to support our
excellent P&C executive.

Make My Day
This week I have two students to mention.
After our Easter Hat Parade an ex CBPS teacher, Mrs Chami, came to ask me if I knew a
student named Harriet. I responded yes Harriet M from 5/60. She said that after Harriet
had won a raffle prize she had taken a book from the pack which was suited for a much
younger child and had asked Mrs Chami if she would like it for her granddaughter who she had with her.
Mrs Chami didn’t know Harriet and was most impressed by this gesture.
Thank you Harriet for making Mrs Chami and Amelie’s day!
Last week after a morning of parent meetings I was walking through the K-2 COLA looking to speak with Mrs Pascoe.
Jaxson W from 1R saw me and very happily called hello and asked where I was going. I explained what I was doing
and he looked a bit concerned and continued to say I thought you might be going to my room because I have done
some great writing. I said I would love to see his writing and would go up to his room. He was still a little concerned as
he was on his way to the toilet. I promised I would wait for him which I did and was treated to a great story about the
Stegosaurus! I even got to see the amazing picture he had drawn. Thank you Jaxson for making my day!
Congratulations to the following students who have achieved
a GOLD Award.

Weekly Class Report featuring 2P
Over the last few weeks in 2P, we have been looking at the elements of art. So far, we have learned about
the elements of line and texture. This fits in nicely with our English unit, where we have an animal theme.
We are using research to help us create some short informative and imaginative texts while looking at the
different text structures and language features.
