Mrs Dobbins all set up at the
Kurri Early Years Expo. She
enjoyed talking to people about
all the great things we do at our
school!
Let me start by saying, WOW! Mulbring Public School, your performance at the
Mulbring Fair was terrific, and a great show of support from our school to the
community. We really do thank all parents for taking the time to bring their children to
the fair so they could perform on stage. Thank you to the P&C and the helpers on
our stall, it all went very well. The proceeds for Mulbring Public School, Mulbring Hall
Committee and the Mulbring Rural Fire Service was around $1000 each. That’s an
outstanding effort and the money will be put to good use by all three recipients. Our
Year 6 lucky dip stall also raised in excess of $150 so that was a good start to their
fundraising as well.
We are starting to compile a list of kindergarten students for 2017 and we are
encouraged by the numbers early on. If you know of anyone who has a child looking
to start school next year, could you please encourage them to contact the school
early Term 2.
Office Changes—from the beginning of Term 2, our office will have reduced hours.
Our office will no longer be staffed on a Tuesday or every second Friday. Please
contact the school on these days for urgent matters ONLY. The phones will be
diverted to classrooms and we would like to try and minimise disruption as much as
possible. If you need to collect a student early or arrive late, please proceed to Miss
Lennard’s classroom. (No payments will be taken on these days.)
While on the decrease of office hours, this will also be the last week Mrs Deanna
Lennard will be with us. With the reduction of hours, we no longer have her position,
we wish her all the best and take this opportunity to thank her for her time at
Mulbring Public School. Mrs Lennard will still do some casual relief work for us on
occasion.
As you saw last week, our shade sail is now up. Invitations have been sent to Year 6
2015 and our P&C, an invitation is also extended to parents/carers and community
members to come to the unveiling of the shade sail plaque on Wednesday 4th May
at 3.15 p.m. This will be a quick afternoon assembly to acknowledge the efforts of
both fundraiser groups.
We would like to say a thank you to our scripture teachers for their efforts during
Term 1. They put on a meaningful ‘re-enactment’ of the last supper in the week
leading up to Easter which was appreciated by our students. We are fortunate to
have a wonderful group of such dedicated people visit our school.
Further, we would like to acknowledge the Mulbring Store and their efforts for us at
Mulbring Public School. Delece and Sharon are always willing helpers selling raffle
tickets and supporting our school. We appreciate them providing a canteen and
bringing lunches up twice a week. We are very lucky to have this available to us.
ANZAC service at school will be on Thursday 28th April at 9.30am, and all parents,
carers and community members are welcome to attend. Please send in flowers for
the wreath on Wednesday 27th. Students from Years 3-6 will lay the wreath at the
Mulbring Memorial after our service on Thursday. Have a safe and happy holiday!
Staff Development Day will be Tuesday 26th April and students will return
Wednesday 27th April.
Late breaking news, we have just been informed that we are to be awarded a silver
medal from Stewart House for our fundraising efforts last year, well done. A great
effort from our school and community for a very worthy cause.
