Where is it and where did it come from? http://www.teragridforum.org/mediawiki/index.php?title=Privacy_Policy
Started by Dane back in April of 2007 Presented at April 17, 2007 RPF meeting
Picked up by NCSA, revamped and presented at Architecture meetings November 29, 2007 and December 13, 2007
Core2 Working Group adopted Comments from PSC, TACC, SDSC
Reviewed by Tom Baron, InCommon Technical Advisory Committee member.
Why does it exist?
Requirement for TeraGrid to join InCommon Federation as a Service Provider. http://www.incommonfederation.org/
Simply put, this is the first step to allow users at campuses to use Shibboleth to authenticate to TeraGrid web servers. E.g. the TeraGrid User Portal.
What is (and isn’t) the Privacy Policy?
Walks the fine line of covering just TeraGrid GIG services.
Does not cover what RP sites do.
Captures what we do today – does not try to define anything new.
Does not cover what Science Gateways (and other “TeraGrid partners”) do.
More specifically…
Covers allocations process Application Award information Usage
Information provided to TG by Science Gateways and RP sites.
Next Steps…
Once it is officially sanctioned by TG, InCommon membership for TG, with U. Chicago as legal entity, can proceed.
