Guests will begin their evening sipping on the welcome cocktail, the Elevated Margarita, with Avión Silver, Lime Juice and Agave Nectar. The night will continue with tastings of tequila and paired with various tacos. With summer in full swing, Third Rail Tavern owner Dan- ny Shapiro wanted to celebrate his love for the spirit by bringing in one of the best in the business: Andrés Arias. Together, these two masterminds have created an event to guide customers through the ultimate tequila experi- ence.

West Loop's Third Rail Tavern to Host Avión Tequila Tasting

Guests Will Be Guided by Tequila Master Andrés Arias

CHICAGO, IL- Third Rail Tavern (1133 W. Madison) will host an exclusive Avión Tequila tasting on Tuesday, June 23rd at 6:30pm. They will be pouring some of the best of

Avión's portfolio that range from unaged and sweet to aged and infused with fruit. Guests will begin their

evening sipping on the welcome cocktail, the Elevated Margarita, with Avión Silver, Lime Juice and Agave

Pairings will include: • Avión Silver • Reposado • Añejo • Espresso

Avión Silver, a clear, un-aged tequila, has a fresh roasted agave nose and a sweet, crisp taste that has hints of grapefruit, pineapple, and black pepper. It was voted the "World's Best Tasting Tequila"at the San Francisco's World Spirits Competition. Reposado also has a roasted agave nose, but has hints of oak and vanilla and a taste that relies on its floral notes with cherry, peach, and pear un-dertones. This light amber-colored tequila is aged six months. Añejo, a medium amber tequila that is aged two years, continues the roasted agave nose but in-cludes woody notes with hints of peach and cherry. Its luxurious taste comes from its soft and rich flavor with hints of vanilla, caramel, coconut, and maple. The unique Espresso has a roasted espresso bean nose and a has a taste that combines the traditional Silver flavor with espresso and it topped off with a touch of sweetness.

Arias has been Chicago's Brand Manager of Avión Tequila since 2014. Prior to this, Arias accumulat-ed a respected amount of exposure with award winning wine, spirits, and mixology while he worked for some of Chicago's most notable estab-lishments, including Nacional 27, Carnivale, and Sepia. Throughout his time in the restaurant in-dustry, his passion for spirits grew and he found that the experience he gained was fundamental to educate others on the great flavors and qualities of spirits.Arias' passion led him to work-ing with Avión Tequila. Third Rail Tavern's beautiful back patio is open in addition to having their Madison street patio open and ready for patrons.
