….the recorded factual material commonly accepted in the scientific community as necessary to validate research findings ...

Research data management

…research data management concerns the organisation of data, from its entry to the research cycle through to the dissemination and archiving of valuable results. It aims to ensure reliable verification of results, and permits new and innovative research built on existing information…

Measuring research impact

• Bibliometrics

…. bibliometrics is the quantitative analysis of research literature, based upon citations,

• Altmetrics

…“Alternative metrics” or “altmetrics” refers to different ways or alternative of measuring the use of, and impact of, scholarship..

• PlumX

…provides both altmetrics and traditional metrics from a variety of sources. Showing these side-by-side allows a researcher to see all of the different impacts of their article in one place.

• Researchgate

• …the RG Score is a metric that measures scientific reputation based on how all of your research is received by your peers.

Research output archiving

• Improves operation efficiency and value of the information created

• Develops a culture of efficient intellectual asset management

• Ensures compliance with legal and statutory frameworks and best practices

• Mitigates risks and ensures increased accountability

• Provides organizational cost benefits• Ensures safe storage of intellectual

property• Facilitates efficient retrieval and

preservation of those same assets
