Money problemsHelp Lerato solve the money sums. You can draw pictures to help you. Use the spaces provided.

Lerato bought a bag of apples and a bag of oranges. The apples cost R10 and the oranges cost R8. How much did the bags of fruit cost altogether?

Andrew bought a bag of sweets for 19c and a sucker for 8c. How much did he pay altogether?

Gogo’s groceries cost R15. She paid with a R20 note. How much change did she get back?

Put money vocabulary on your classroom walls. You should include: price, cost, buy, sell, spread, change and total. Learners must know the meaning of these words.
