Ten Common Computer Problems That Can

Problem 1- Computer not turning on

• If it is a desktop, is it even plugged in? Check to see if it’s plugged in.• If it is a laptop, is the battery dead? Try charging your computer.• Is your computer on, but not your monitor? Check monitor

connections.

Problem 2- Computer running slow.

• Try deleting files you don’t use.• Delete programs that aren’t used that often.

Problem 3- Being blocked from a website• If you are using a internet connection from a building like a school or

office, your administrator has probably blocked your site.• Check with your administrator to see if you can get the site unblocked• Connect to a different Wi-Fi network

Problem 4- “Page cannot be found”

• Try retyping the link• Does the page you are looking for even exist?

Problem 5-POPUPS!!!!!

• DO NOT click on them• Close them using Alt-F4

Problem 6- Viruses

• If you have a virus, you probably didn’t follow my last suggestion• Run a virus scan using a TRUSTED anti-virus software such as

Microsoft Security Essentials

Problem 7- No internet connection

• Check to see if your connected to the internet• If not, connect to the internet!

Problem 8- Mouse not working

• Check to make sure the mouse is plugged into the computer• If its wireless, check the battery• Also check to see if it’s on

Problem 9- Keyboard not working

• Check to make sure it’s on• Make sure it’s plugged into the computer

Problem 10- “File not found”

• Did you save the file in the first place?• Look in another folder
