Welcome MessageFrom Rabbi David Frank

“V’hiney tov me’od – And, behold, it is very good!” I am so pleased to welcome you back to our Pathfinder, which has been on hiatus for several years. Pathfinder is such an appropriate name for our newsletter, as this is the English meaning of Solel.

And, indeed, since our founding 40 years ago, we have been a congregation of pathfinders and trailblazers. As a community of pathfinders, we help one another discover the way to richer Jewish expression, to a proud Jewish identity, and to meaningful acts of Tikkun Olam. As trailblazers, we have tried to lead the way in synagogue innovation and creativity inspired by our 3,500 year old Jewish tradition.

In the unfolding of these pages in the months to come, I look forward to highlighting and celebrating our Jewish journey together!

L’Shalom,

Rabbi David Frank

R A B B I N I C S E A R C H U P D AT EOur Committee has been hard at work preparing the groundwork for this incredibly important process, have surveyed other congregations throughout the country that have been down this path, spoken to the Union of Reform Judaism (URJ) as well as the Central Conference of American Rabbis (CCAR), and have carefully crafted a plan, timeline and path forward as we embark on this exciting time for our congregation.

Join one of our sub-committees - We want everyone’s voices to be heard! The next few months will be busy with congregational surveys and focus groups. For more information contact, [email protected].
