We are looking for an experienced a highly motivated information analyst to join our team. This is an exciting role within the clinical governance team responsible for delivering a high quality provision of information to both internal and external stakeholders.
As Information Analyst you’ll be expected to undertake complex analysis and interpretation of a wide variety of health related information. You will also assist in ensuring that all mandatory submissions are made within the required deadlines to a high standard of quality, and provide a responsive service for varied “ad hoc” information requests.
This role will be involved in activities such as:
- Providing an effective information service that converts data into intelligence that informs strategic planning, operational and contract/SLA management, and supports service delivery and clinical practice.- Extracting and analysing data for trends in order to support the performance of the Hospice.- Investigating and resolving system and data quality issues.- Production, development and presentation of a range of high quality healthcare information.
The successful candidate will need to have excellent technical skills in e.g. Business Objects/Tableau, Excel (advanced user) and significant experience in other business Intelligence software. They will need to be capable of manipulating information as well as have the ability to summarise complex information and articulate what it represents.

2. JOB PURPOSETo exploit data collected by St. Columba’s Hospice through a range of clinical and non-clinical systems and to enhance data analysis, interpretation and presentation into a dashboard of key performance indicators to support all aspects of St Columba’s business.
To provide advice and guidance on specialist analyses, communicate insights, undertake research and to lead on discrete projects, development and design of health related data sets and information.
To manipulate data, compile reports and create timely presentations of statistics for the senior management team and to external stakeholders including NHS Scotland, Scottish government and other partner organisations.
3. DIMENSIONSThe post-holder will be a member of small clinical governance team who are involved in the production of a variety of regular reports monthly, quarterly and annually, in a variety of formats for use by a wide range of stakeholders.
The team use best practice to enhance existing datasets and develop new data collections to support the changing information needs of customers, reporting as required.
The Hospice uses a number of systems, all of which produce data including; Crosscare, Staffcare, Raisers edge, Cybertill, Sage accounting, Sentinel, Tableau, volunteer database, Learnpro.

5. ROLE OF DEPARTMENT
To work in partnership with clinical governance and administration team to analyse, interpret and present data to support the hospices strategic requirements.
To champion best practice, to enhance existing datasets and develop collections to support the changing needs of the hospice and those we support.

1. Plan and manage the development and improvement of information systems and information processes in use at St. Columba’s Hospice.
