Q. Does my lottery license need to be renewed? If so, how do I do that?

A. Yes, state law (or the Texas Lottery Act) requires that you renew your lottery license every two years, and the renewal application and renewal fee of $15 must be submitted before your license expiration date.

You may complete your renewal online by visiting our website at txlottery.org and registering on the Lottery Services Portal or you may complete and return the license renewal application mailed to you

60 days prior to the expiration date of your license.

Q. Can I sell tickets during draw break?

A. During the draw break you are unable to sell tickets for any game that has a drawing during that draw break but you may sell tickets for the other draw

games. Scratch-off sales are not affected by draw breaks.

Q. Who is responsible for the maintenance and repair of the equipment?

A. The retailer is responsible for keeping equipment clean and for minor maintenance like changing paper and clearing jams. If your equipment is disabled or you are not sure how to fix the problem, please call the IGT Hotline, 800-458-0884, for support. The Hotline is available 24 hours, 7 days a week. The Hotline staff can often help retailers fix minor problems over the phone. Hotline staff can also dispatch service technicians to address more significant problems and provide repair

and maintenance services.
